McKinzie provided an answer by earning Hall of Fame trainer Bob Baffert a new timepiece, and more importantly, his first career victory in the Grade 1, $1 million Whitney, outkicking Yoshida for a 1 ¾-length score in the 1 1/8-mile route at #Saratoga Race Course.

Finally! The dirt horses as a whole are so...uh.... let's just say there's a lot of parity this year. This may finally be one of them staking his claim to the top. McKinzie looked very good, and may very well be the best dirt horse. Maybe the Awesome Again and Classic, then Pegasus to kick off a big 5 year old campaign?
