    So, Don Quijote will have his Sancho Panza, huh? So far so good. :) For some (not so well defined) reason, when I see the word "bodywork", in my head Olivia Newton-John (God bless her) starts singing, just instead of "Physical", she sings, of course, "Bodywork". Now seriously, I like the new method, it is really a good thing for easiness of a modeler's work. Good day, Patrick, cheers!

      @@Cristake1974 I definitely endorse the association of the late and much lamented, but immortal, Olivia Newton-John and bodywork. Returning to our less glamorous styrene bodywork, this method is much faster. Hello, another video full of interesting things, that building in the beginning of the video, the maintenance draisine in front of it, that track segment replacement, then fences, switchman lodge, signal items... and a lot of vegetation which, unfortunately, shouldn't be there, but it is (and this is far from being the worst example), "thanks" to bad policies or incompetence of some political hyenas. Thanks for the video, Patrick, good day!

    • @patricksmodels
      @patricksmodels 2 дні тому

      Yes, the vegetation is too abundant, to say the "management" of CFR is lacking is being kind, and this was 10 years ago, nowadays things are even worse. In the meantime they built the new Pitesti railway station, demolishing the old building, that was part of the original stations of this line, when it could gave easily been integrated into the modernisation. The flooring in the new station is made of gloss light brown tiles, that look permanently filthy, an effect that is amplified by the "cleaning" staff, who wash them with the same black water, spreading the dirt left and right. At least the escalators were working the last time I was there in 2019, unlike on Bucratest's Pasajul Basarab in 2018, when they were all out of service because the municipality wasn't paying the constructor Astaldi for the infrastructure operating maintenance (as per contract), so everybody had to climb the stairs to reach the tram stop on the bridge.

      @@patricksmodels Until a certain moment, each locomotive had a stable crew. This is why they (the locomotives) always looked clean and shiny, I mean clean outside and clean inside. Man and machine, to use a kraftwerkesque term. Every rail station was excellent looking, clean platforms, flowers, benches etc. CFR was called back then ”the second army”, due to such things. When the crew was not the same for each loco, the situation gradually altered and sometimes one could see a kind of zombie locomotive doing its duty - rust, dirt etc. Today, the best routes are miraculously rented to private operators, while CFR goes in losses with ”leftovers” routes.

The photo-book type of video is very good and useful, for the reasons you already mentioned it. @@raymondleggs5508 this is my first one, it needs a good clean and lubrication. It must have been run on a carpet by the amount of fluff on the pick-ups. The locomotive shed, two water cranes (0:09 and 0:23) - interesting thing - they are of different types, wood sleepers, a large number of EAOS wagons and a couple of EACS, and a lot of various details of older times. Great! PS - I've seen a water crane as that of 0:23 in H0 scale, I think it was a kit bash, with a functional lamp on it's top, white on two sides, a red diagonal strip on the other two faces of the lamp, just as the regulations require.

    🤩Well, such cars are legends! Gottschalk and his "Trabbi Goes to Hollywood", Mr. Bean or Austin Powers with their Mini Coopers, Herbie "the love bug" then, Romanians have their national legend "Dacia 500" nicknamed "Lăstun” (”Martin” or the Latin name Delichon urbicum) and, of course, the dearest of them all.... la Bianchina. I saw once the last minutes of a documentary about Trabant or GDR, I think there are a lot of good stories about this car in ex-GDR... and not only.

      @@Cristake1974 my father in law's first private car was a Trabant, bought second hand in Bucharest, because cars from the capital were always in better condition than the ones in Muntenia. He bought it in 1978 and kept it until 1982 when he changed it for his first Dacia 1300, another ex Bucarest car. Before the Trabant he was using the Aro M461 freight taxi "Taxi Marfă" he was issued with as a driver of the local IGO company "Întreprindere Gospodărească Orășenească" or City Services Company. He's still working as a taxi driver, several Dacias l(he's lost count of how many 1310s he's gone through) and two Logans later. Nowadays he drives a Dacia Sandero Stepway. He became an independent taxi driver in 1991. He's told me several stories about the Trabant.

    Good work, Patrick. If I wouldn't know it's hand made, I would say it's a Lima or Jouef, maybe Kleinbahn rail vehicle. Or even Lugoj made, although it's a bit too detailed for Lugoj (yep, the city we love because of the toy factory which was there and especially for giving the world whom else than Mr. Bela Lugosi). About the decals, I do not have any experience, nor the possibility to get some (I mean useful, not those for aircraft models, as I'm on trains).
