Brian, please do a lesson on the feet of Ornithischians and Sauropods. I feel like their feet are often ignored, and there are so many mistakes made with them. Plus the difference between their "hand" and "feet" are lost to many people. This is true for a lot of clades within Ornithischians. Same with Sauropods.

@@vesuvius115 yea, it's true, all the focus is on theropod feet/legs, and yet they still get even those wrong lol. But yea non-theropod dino feet need some love, definitely.

Maybe those huge holes made the skull lighter, but if another dino bites you in the snout, it can easily break your upper jaw support, or at least leave it severely damaged to the point of not letting you bite strongly again.

Very inspiring! I think I'll use the Struthio skill as a template and make more skulls myself. I'm thinking Deinonychus and an updated Dilophosaur! I'm probably doing Dinovember this year! Getting back into doing more paleoart again. Great stuff! As for plastic waste; If you love markers consider copic they have refills (and the refills work for several refills) and they even have replacement nibs and amazing brushtips but they are expensive and like all alcohol markers are NOT lightfast. Tjhey also come in an amazing variety of colours as well. But expensive... Anyways Great inspiration Off to paint a dilophosaur now!

trust me if you use skeletals as a baseplate and draw slowly with pencil you can do it! it's been long time since i was drawing normally and now that i did that using a skeletal as a refference it was even better than my older drawings
i like reconstructing skeletals i already drew a t rex based on sue now i gotta make an edmontosaurus too and with the help of a flora guide maybe i will ask people who know about it i want to draw a t rex chilling and looking at an edmontosaurus herd from far away

Just discovered this channel from this video - this was both fascinating and hilarious. I love drawing dinos and love the idea of getting them as realistic as possible but when drawing from illustrations it can be hard to tell the width or proportions of limbs or parts of the dino. The 3D puppet looks like such a great drawing tool, I'm gonna have to give that a go. I wonder if I could make one out of cereal boxes?

Something that bugs me about a lot of therapod reconstrucions is (not just shrink wrapping, but that is getting better) but eyes being flat with the side of the head, birds have, as you mention here, eyes that bug out the side of their head a bit, and large carnivorous therapods probably had binocular vision, so something like an Allosaurid (which is a family where this issue is very common) should have eyes poking out that bit to see past the antorbital fenestra, sorta like a heron, but much less extreme.
I wish i had my drawing pad and my pencils with me, but alas they are not.
