    Good old summer time TV.

Holy crap I actually remember this broadcast I was 9 years old, had only been back at school a week or so.
My elementary school was open campus 1/2 a block away and I would get home for lunch at 11:50 see the last few minutes of Lost in space then watch Underdog, half of Great Space Coaster and then run my ass back to school.
    Count Chocoula & Frankenberry
I think they only had 3 jokes on that rocket with Tennessee tuxedo.
    Riff Raff & Rocky Maninoff
And of course the memories of Great America in Gurnee Illinois.
Thank you for bringing back a flood of childhood memories I had long since forgotten.

Mine was at one end of the block, and I lived on the other... until they started busing me across town to some "special" classes. :\

Memory of sitting at a folding step-stool in my parent's semi-finished basement, watching "The Great Space Coaster" as I ate my peanut butter sandwich, then my corn chips... and dropping my plate, losing all my corn chips! :\

Interesting that Richard Simmons gets a double play, with the second airing being at 7:30 PM (not exactly prime time for aerobicize!)

Boy, that takes me back! "And live to regret it" was WFLD's favorite way to end those teases of upcoming shows. For once, I wanted to see an episode where the heroes didn't live to regret it.

Ahh, Underdog at lunchtime. They played a lot of Tennessee Tuxedo too, I think they alternated with Underdog throughout the year.

If you noticed the end credits of "Lost In Space," you will see, thought they didn't say it upfront, that Red Skelton had a stake in the show (his Van Bernard Productions and his variety show's executive producer of the time, Guy della Cioppa, are within the credits).

Yep. Groucho Marx also owned "a piece of the action", through "Jodi Productions".

This looks pretty close to how Boomerang aired Underdog when I was in 2nd grade before they started using a newer intro.

Chicago looks like it was one of the few big markets that ran cartoons/kid-friendly show during the lunch hour, I guess enough Chicago kids lived within walking distance of their school (at least in the city proper) that they could go home for lunch

Ah, the good-ol'-days! When Riff-Raff was just some character on "The Underdog Show" and not "character" you hoped wouldn't enter the club you were lounging in! :\

lost in space at the beginning love that theme song even remix from apollo440 very cool hit theme, that would be funny if the queen mary on underdog was fully infested with the grid from defiance 2050 hehehehe BIG mistake attacking that ship especially when it has about 5 inquisitors I used to have plush toys of chumly and Tennessee boy the memories and they were big ones too one day ill have them again.

How many phone booths did Underdog have to pay for?

I wonder how many phone booths Underdog destroyed every year? Will he ever be held accountable for his wanton destruction of property?

Ch. 32 was at it's best when it was an independent station. The cartoons in the afternoon, along with 3 Stooges, were the best. Now it's just talk shows , judge shows which are pure garbage.
