Niceeee! No guard and a dead man's switch! Wire wheel, long shirt, a crowd, and we have a party! Lol nice work brother.
Thanks! Needed this info!
That looks great
Man I love that fence
Awesome. I was about to cut some pipe but only found my 2 7/8 guide. I use mostly oil field pipe which has a thicker wall.
Good video thank you for showing that. Take care
New follower here. Good job. I’ll have to get one of those saddles.
Good explanation
Good job man when u have two different size pipe it's hard like I made the horses . Its easy when u have the right size of pipe and to measure it sometimes u don't and have to free hand it n do it on yr own too. Love the video man
wow thank you for that tip
Been welding and fabricating for 35 years i might be old school but a torch works just as well with a double oo tip and minimal grinding if you have the experience too each their own good job regardless sonny
Guys CANT use a torch anymore
@@treetop5752 i actually alot of us guys can but if you are good with a cutting wheel it makes a better clean finish there is no puddles
Plasma
Awesome that you're located in Mesa... I'm in Queen Creek and am about to build a bunch of animal pens, I'll be paying you guys a visit for supplies.
Sounds great! Stop on by anytime and we can show you what we have to offer!
Good job
great job
Thanks Rudy! Stay tuned for more videos! What kind of video would you like us to make?
Good work brother love the video job got done and right
You can also buy a soft gasket that fits the pipe and use for a outline mark guide to cut by
Little extra prep time saves a bunch when its time to weld.
What brand disk do you use?
what is the spacing post to post ??
What do you charge for something like this if you don't mind me asking?
Thin wall pipe!
We cut about 120 rails saddle both sides on an 8 hr day with a torch cant imagine even getting close to that number this way
Torch is the way to go
Plasma?
We generally make a pattern from 18 or 20 gauge
I also made a video about this and I was wondering if you had tried your method with a schedule 40 pipe, and if so how well it worked. I'm afraid it might eat up a lot of zip disk. I did notice something about your template. I have the same one and it doesn't match up well at all with schedule 40, but it looked like it matched up well with that sched 10 or 20 you were using. I enjoyed your video. I always like watching the way other people do things.
Buckinthetree 123 thank you so much! We have tried it with schedule 40. That is usually what we used. Oil field pipe. It worked really well actually!
What size pipe are you using and how thick is it? Should the pipe for the posts be bigger than the cross pipes? Please help with this information. Thank you.
david78840 This is 2 3/8” pipe 14 gauge. You can have the posts bigger if you would like but they don’t have to be. Here as you can tell our posts are the same size. 👍🏼
I don't think anyone makes a guide like that to fit two different sizes. I've taken a grinder to ones I've bought at the store and opened up the saddle to fit rails to post. I've built a lot of fence with 2 7/8" rails to 4" post. I've also cut the end off of a pipe wrap and made my own tracing template.
@@buckinthetree1233 There you go man! Gotta do what you gotta do! Keep up the good work!
@@SevenPeaksFenceandBarn you too. It looks like you do nice work. There aren't very many people around my area that can build a decent fence anymore.
I want a 6" dia version. Good for production work.
Nice you need a different gauge for every size pipe though. Oh and put the safety shield on your grinder you dont want to learn the hard way why it's there
Just wear a face shield. I've been hit by a disintegrating cut off disk more times than I can't count. No biggie if you're wearing the proper gear. Almost losing a nipple was the worst thing that ever happened. Sack up Nancy.
What size cut off blade are you using?
Not very observant, are we..!!! Stop the vid at 46 seconds and you will clearly see.
I use a torch. I eyeball it and works fine
ditch the cut off wheel and invest into a portable bandsaw, cheaper to run in the long run and makes life a lot easier
A band saw to saddle pipe? 😂🤦🏾♂️ you ain’t no welder
@@downhilldaddy9346 for making fence it works great, super fast, quicker than a torch. Now for pipe line, ya gotta use a torch . And I never claimed to be one jackass . 😂 But yes I can weld.
john dowe you don’t know what you’re talking about. This video is about fence saddles. No one mentioned the pipeline professor dick weed
@@johndowe7003 sure you can!
@@edstimator1 ill post a video next time i order some bandsaw blades
Oh that's a guide i thought it was just a decoration. lol
Take forever to do that
What way do you feel is the fastest?
use a gard and a better grinder.
I saw seven peaks and I thought “well that’s cool, we have a four peaks here” and sure as shit you’re in the valley ish.
Sure are! Stop on by any time and say hello! 1037 South Center Street Mesa AZ
@@SevenPeaksFenceandBarn I don’t really need any fence or corral supplies but if y’all need a welder let me know. I can Mig tig stick and flux core weld and I’m looking for work!
@@michaelt.9372 give us a call. We are hiring. 480-246-6237
or just use a hole saw bit in a drill, faster and accurate. think about it, the notch/saddle is basically half a hole it will be a perfect fit every time.

Amazing the number of supposed tradespeople who use grinders without their guards... even stupider with thin cut-off wheels. Man, we banned this in the workshops, and "cut" out so many nasty injuries and lost time.
i have a feeling no one likes you at work
The pipe you cut, is not the one you showed saddled at the end.
The rails are the same size thickness as the ones we saddled in the video but the posts are thicker but still the same size outside diameter.
I see you throw your guards in the garbage just like I do :)
That's kinda sketchy without no guard on that grinder
@@bigG485 I don't know about that lol
@@bigG485 I agree I took the guard off my grinder a few years back and haven't had any issues. If you don't bind up your cut off wheels and replace them often they won't do anything sketchy.
agreed, dodgy as fuck
It’s how men use it
martin whatever you say lol
Wow so much simpler than other dude that talks to much cuts the saddles with a torch! Wasting gas and oxygen how lame!
Thank you for your comment! Glad you liked it!
Another video of how to loose your fingers
Lets say you don't use grinder for a living, but yes it's unsafe for eyes though, ones the disk binds and raptures.
Good job
Good job
