In case you forgot, raging fire of emotion was already used against erigor in first arc of ft. With his fire dragon king, the more rage you feel, the more strength of fire increased that his arm burnt out. I prefer calling it Overheating Outrage than flames of emotion.

@Devin Jenkins That's actually a bit of an error. Every source has stated that Zeref only really mentioned burning through his magic, not burning through time itself, so that's more of an exaggeration.

Zeref fought for himself and natsu fought for his guild and the entire fiore kingdom.

When Natsu defeated stronger version of Zeref. Mashima thrown away his character who he had build and his resolution didn't mean nothing at the end.

Zeref is one of my favorite characters in the series he had so much depth and complexity to his development.
After Natsu defeated him, and gave him a bad conclusion to his character arc. Me and my friend we're pissed off how he ruined his most developed antagonist.
An made him into a joke I lost all respects for him as writer an how he appeals way too much too the fanbase and would go backwards.

The story was ruined with their relationship was shown no growth, zeref had reached a point of no avail, from travelling for four centuries there was nothing left for him, natsu was never going to be his real brother, it was just his body without his soul, he longed for him to defeat him and put an end to him because he thought that was the only way to go, instead of showing hatred, they could have shown understanding, zeref could never be forgiven, but he was cursed, much like jellal, he wanted his brother back so badly, that he thought it was the only way, cmon man he had lost his entire family, yes zeref was to be killed, but at least at the end some amount of emotion was needed from natsu's side. Or at least him taking back Zeref's pendant. Ugh such a good arc destroyed in one go.

1. Zeref never suffered against anyone other than Natsu, Zeref stopped the time everytime and one shotted every demon like a fly in the series. NATSU IS E.N.D.
According to the demonic script, E.N.D. was created to kill immortal creatures and It was stated that Zeref designed his powers way superior than his own too.
Like for example - Zeref can manipulate time, so he made E.N.D immune time, Zeref uses spacial magic, So he made E.N.D immune to space.
Zeref uses every magical components that an ether nano has, so he made E.N.D in order that he can consume any element he wants.
And that's what Natsu did in the anime.
Natsu's magic is the mixture of all elements,
for example - Water, Etherion (Every element), Lighning, Light magic, Shadow magic, soul magic, Demonic magic, Spirit magic, Curse magic, God slayer magic, Demon slayer magic, dragon slayer magic, E.N.D. magic (Burns through time and space), sand, nature, hard, rubber, etc.
2. Natsu's haxs includes BURN THROUGH MAGIC ABILITY depending upon his anger. Power of friendship is just for saying, but he can burn through magic as stated by WOOD DRAGON GOD ALDORON.
3. Natsu defeated Zeref cuz Lucy rewrote and modified E.N.D. Demonic scripts and Natsu came to a conclusion making his flames PLANCK TEMPERATURE which is 100000000 billion times hotter than a sun (It only gets activated by his anger)
Zeref was having TIME + SPACE + INFINITY MAGIC CONCEPT CONTROL.
But Natsu can burn through concepts as seen in the anime, Natsu defeated Acnologia, how? Cuz Acnologia's arms were sealed and Natsu's flames broke his immunity to magic concept after getting a power up.
4. Natsu is immune to time, Space and magic is useless against him as he can simply burn through it (burning through superior magical attacks depends upon his anger)
And so Zeref was having TIME + SPACE + INFINITY MAGIC CONCEPT, Natsu was immune to time and space. And he can burn through magic depending upon his anger. His demonic scripts modified and he defeated Zeref.

Being pushed into the rift could have worked from a story telling point of how they killed Acnologia instead of what we got, as it would at least feel more believeable than how things happened, also it really looked like Natsu's exhaustion and desire to go see Happy, Gray and Lucy was him suspecting he's about to die when Zeref does and wants to say goodbye.

There really is an explanation for it. That move raging fire of emotion is probably the strongest fire move in the series (unless Ignia has something in the future). The more rage = stronger the attack. Regardless of how strong it is, it wasn't supposed to damage Zeref... look closely at what he says. That implies his power was somehow stopped and he's dying which should be impossible. Now look at who's with him. MAVIS the one who reactivated the curse... the curse was already taking effect
As for Acnologia he was already damaged from his fight with Igneel. He also split his power in half so he can fight damn near everybody in the real world. Wendy enhanced all their power to Natsu... the dude wat like 7x stronger. Y'all missed that and now everybody hates Fairytail... jeez

Another spoilers: acnologia is not death.. He divided into two time.. Where all the dragons slayer fight his human form and the rest fight his dragon form...
Zeref banged the lifeless body of Mavis and toss her body aside afterward. His child was raised by god knows who since he wasnt with the second leader by the time he turned evil and neither parents know about him.
I don't see this as an amazing relationship.

@@roximango9914 Mashima made a side story called Fairy Tail Zero. Basically Mavis before the curse and being first master.
Spoiler, it show the "relationship" of Zeref and her, beginning and ending with her first kiss as she "dies" because of the curse. Before kissing there was no intimite moment or anything as she just learned she had the same curse as Zeref, she was in total shock and horrified.
He had to have intercourse while she was in a coma to conceive a baby. Because you dont get pregnant from a single kiss.
Now it is a "side story" so you coupd say its not canon. But the purpose of it was giving backbone/forshadowing to their relationship since it was non existent at the time of this side story.
He most likely retcon it to make more sense with that single scene in "I-forgot-the-chapter" where they are naked in a lake.

That never happend, lucy rewrote his end book so his wound healed and nothing happend and he stood up with his emotions hitting him with raging fire of emotions

So what really happened is that Natsu intensified his flames to a state called Flames of Emotion, where his power grows in response to his emotions, giving him the strength to beat Zeref. As for why Zeref didn't reverse time, Natsu used this power to burn away Zeref's magic, something which Zeref stated himself ("It's burning my magic!")
It makes sense if you were watching everything. Also, plot armor.

Zeref is much more stronger than Natsu. But Natsu in his normal mode can beat Zeref??? The plot really bad. I really hate the battles in final chapter, all extremely powerful enemies can be easily defeated by Fairy Tail members who are not very strong, especially by Natsu. Just because author lazy to think how to defeat the enemies.
If author want to, he even can let Natsu defeat Acnologia without the power of other 6 dragons. I really hate the final chapter, the power level of characters does not make sense, especially Natsu, Natsu is the character who author want him to be too powerful which cause the plot does not make sense. The plot of final chapter is really bad.

@@urickmann7768 Flames of emotion scale fire's power and temperature based off his emotional state. Natsu burning time itself likely means he reached planck temperature, which explains why his body wasn't able to adapt to it and was burnt.
