END OF THE WORLD TORNADO UP CLOSE - Sulphur Oklahoma Raw Footage May 9, 2016

- Violent mile wide tornado witnessed up close. This is the second tornado I intercepted May 9, 2016 near Sulphur Oklahoma. Available in 4K. For licensing contact hankschyma@yahoo.com
I've witnessed Numerous EF4's and one EF5 not including the downgraded El Reno 2013 tornado. I can't ever recall seeing mesocyclone motion this extreme. It looked like the end of the world scene in a movie. If this tornado hit a structure dead on it will likely get an EF5 rating, however this tornado traveled mostly through unpopulated area... Thanks heavens! I'm not sure if this tornado had any fatalities, however one structure I witnessed was leveled minus the chimney. Large hail up to eggs were noted with this storm. More info soon...
UPDATE:
No fatalities were reported with this tornado, only a few injuries. This storm impacted relatively few structures and only earned an EF3 rating as it curved a mile wide path through open country. The dramatic Katie-Wynnewood Oklahoma tornado prior to this one unfortunately killed a man in his home. This tornado tore the roof clean off the house before flinging it a hundred feet in the air into pieces. You can see that video in slow motion here...
TORNADO TEARS APART HOUSE:
• Video
The end of this video reminded me of one of those "which one doesn't match" quizzes from elementary school.
Pick one:
1. Terrifying, ominous dark sky.
2. Hail the size of golf balls.
3. Trees ripped up from their roots.
4. Power lines knocked down.
5. Cow grazing calmly and happily on the side of the road.
Nature is so unpredictably cool.
Where most people would say that feild was half empty, that cow thought that feild was half full.
Jazzy Monithr end of the world for me is when I forgot to study for one of my Latin quizzes

That cow had no F's to give. There's destruction everyone and the cow's like "This is some damn good grass."

I could watch hours of Pecos hank videos... I wish this one was 10 minutes longer. Thanks for posting these videos.
Agreed
+rlorion I'll repost the long version when i have time. Especially on the first one. Crazy stuff!
@@PecosHank have you posted the long one yet? (Giggity)

@Anonymous Anonymous Years ago I boarded my horse at a farm. A young man (son of a police captain) grew marijuana in the upper field where the trees were. The horses ate it all.
I really want to see one of these in person. I'm that kind of guys who loves "bad weather."
Me too
+gmd_nate2504 same
Ikr
me as well 😍 i never even seen a tornado in person before
+Guitarfollower22 You say that but just look at Joplin, Moore, Hackleburg etc you dont want to mess with storms like this mate, especially the aftermath.
If the world was ending and Hank was narrating it , It wouldn't sound so bad .
Hank is poetic; those who yell and swear are pathetic.
I know it must be hard to film in the middle of storms, but man I wish your videos were longer. So freaking cool, best footage of storms I've seen.
+Tyler McComb I'll make a longer account of this storm. Had 2 cameras rolling the entire time, but usually internet connections out in BFE take forever even for me to upload a 2 minute video.
Pecos Hank is their any way I could send u pictures of a storm I believe was a tornado? It was rotating and was moving N to NE. I want your opinion on if it was a funnel, because it formed almost right in front of me. Thank you so very much 😊👍🏻btw, love all your videos, and I'm jealous of your job. Great job
Scott-H Guitar Pick Collector havr you heard his band the Southern Belltones? 👍⚾️💨🏌️outta the park awesome . Hanks so nice hes letting us use his music 🎶 in our future videos. We are working on a lightning video project now, ✨👽🐱🐯🦁✨🇨🇦#crazyfunnycats66

Good morning 😃☀️🌞 it is morning in Dayton Ohio where I am from Dude lol 😂 I hope 🤞 that you have a great 👍 Day ok 👌 Dude.
the smartest storm chaser alive... everyone else seem to be soo desperate for getting that perfect shot and be willing to give their own lives for something like this
@testyakola the name is reed Timmer and he's still alive
@@JLukeHypernova Reed is obnoxious and ever since he had a show, it went from chasing to only doing it for clout.
A few of the chasers on the show were killed by tornado because the went on a road that wasn't safe and got stuck there.
@@JLukeHypernova I think its Pecos hank
I like this guy, but in this video he does some seriously sketchy driving. He blew through several stop signs (including one rather blind intersection) and was passing people on either side by driving into the ditch. That’s just not safe.
Dwight Mansburden which stops does he blow? The only one I see is in the middle of the vid, and he slowed down quite a bit nearing it
Hank must have teleportation abilities. He never misses a tornado. Ever.
well he is a tornado chaser
I think he missed the one in Moore Oklahoma 2013. He was busy chasing another tornado.
Kinda happy he did. That was a monster tornado like no other and the last thing we'd want to happen to Hank is to get sucked up by one of these beasts.
+andrew flores no he didnt
Considering everything hank does I think he's extremely underrated in the navigator aspect of things. I would love if he chased with some more groups during the season.
Stormchasers, ambulances, cops, firemen, meteorological teams. -All stopped.
Hank. - Gives friendly honk and passes them on the shoulder.
Jesus that is the most violent circulation ive ever seen, the whole mesocyclone was almost touching the ground great vid hank
That was scary...I thought it was right on top of you in the second part...probably the most insane rotation I've ever seen
Exactly how big was that tornado? Like you said, it was probably at least an EF4, but it seemed pretty visually confusing from the video (hence I'm asking how big it was).
I've said it before and I'll say it again, you are by far my favorite storm chaser, and arguably the best self payed storm chaser out there. Keep up the awesome work Hank!
+Joe Starr I'd say a half mile wide. Thanks Joe!
+Pecos Hank, you're very welcome! How high do you think the death toll is with this tornado? Another comment said that it killed two people.
+Pecos Hank was that the rare tornado the news claimed they had?
+Pecos Hank love the videos hank, and stay safe! :)
+Joe Starr 2 deaths I think
Incredible Hank! Once again, I had the confidence to go ahead and click the like button before I had even seen the whole thing.
+Ronnie Harris Take care friend.
Do you think that could be EF5 intensity? The rotation on that is insane. It also looked like it was leaving debris in front of you from around a mile, may 3/4 mile off. Did this particular storm avoid causing any fatalities?
+Porpoise Pete (Arwhale) So far it looks like no fatalities have been reported with this storm. Can you believe it? NWS damage survey has the width well over a mile.
I always come back to these relaxing tornado videos to calm my nerves.
Beautiful yet horrifying at the same time... thanks for sharing this!
I find tornados amusing to watch

Fuck
What's crazy is this tornado had winds over 215 mph (about 50 ft off the ground) and swept some homes away, but was rated EF-3. To me, this tornado was clearly an EF-5 (or at least high-end EF4).
Ikr... honestly, as spastic and seizure-esque as I great when talking about EF-5s, this was NOT an EF3. There is no way a mile long tornado with wind that strong was just an EF-3. I wish it were, but I seriously doubt it was...
+Pepper “Mint” Cake The ratings are determined by structural damage, not size or wind speed.
+Miles Case They are actually determined in the wind speed.
No, I believe it's wind speed. Other than that they couldn't judge what rating the tornado was/ is until it starting destroying something.Miles Case
Pepper Cake Ikr lmao. If it was damage then what use is telling people what rating the tornado was when it already has passed xD
I THOUGHT THE TITLE WAS JUST OVER-EXAGGERATION! DX
+mindlessgonzo Those would be the types of tornadoes you'd see at the end of the world.
No doubt.
if it's an oklahoma tornado, the title is never an exaggeration
@@myloveisgod Good evening, jill. I live in North East Illinois. We have 2 types of tornadoes here. The bearly EF 1, that barely rattles your windows, or the EF 4 or EF 5 that destroys EVERYTHING. MY MOM always told me that Chicago weather sucks. We, in April, can have an outbreak of tornadoes on Monday, and have a blizzard on Friday.
@@curtisfranzen986 midwest, am i right? they say "if you don't like the weather just wait 5 minutes"
Hank, you are SO appreciated, brother.
Every day people: *remain at a safe distance in their basements during a tornado*
Hank: *pulls up within inches of the monster twister*
That poor cow looked like "I don't know where I am!"
0:31, you got me to utter "holy sh!+" even after watching over a dozen other videos from Oklahoma's tornadoes on Monday!!! Then the damage at the end.
And btw, even your shaky video was steadier than many folks' "steady" videos!
Thanks for capturing and sharing for those of us who can't be out there seeing this in person with you. Stay safe
+Mary Katherine Smith Thanks for hanging out here Mary.
Great footage as always Hank. Some serious rotation on that one, would love to see a time lapse of that. :)
+SoulzStealer01 That will make the scene eventually. Had a wide angle rolling as well.
this video made me feel like I was riding right along with you !!! James
This tornado was huge!!!!
+Joe Mancini good thing it didnt hit anything ohterwise it wouldve been ef4 or 5
It didn't hit anything?
Pepper Cake luckily no homes

It was so darn dark that day. April is Cold this year but we know May is coming here in Oklahoma. Your videos of this storm were absolutely the best of all.
Fantastic work, as always! I only recently got interested in tornadoes, and it was because of these videos you post! Rock on!
Hi Hank. Glad to see you stayed safe with yesterday's chase in Oklahoma. Awesome video that you captured. Just to let you know, that big silver Dodge Ram truck you had in your video had another storm chaser in that vehicle by the name of Tim Marshall. I am friends with him on Facebook. Glad you got video of that and the blue Dodge Truck that was further back on the road. The blue Dodge Truck is the one you honked at as you drove past it to get a closer look at the tornado. Again as always, awesome video. I hope there is more severe weather for today for all the chasers to go after. I just hope everyone stays safe. It is unfortunate that last I had heard 2 people did not make it in Oklahoma. Very sad. Please always stay safe out there my friend. Also I hope that cow was ok. It didn't look like it was doing all that well as you drove past it. Anyways take care and safe/happy trails!!!!! 👍👍👍👍👍👍
+Christine Mullen Was that ol' Time? Yeah i gave them a little beep beep just so they knew i was coming through. Happy Trails Christine!
The cow was like: great another tornado! Welp, time to get some food while I wait for a new barn
Your videos are the best of the genre! I really enjoy your work!
Looking nice, as always. I can't wait for this season! Keep up the awesome work Hank.
I watch many live streams and check out all the uploaded storm videos but Pecos Hank always has the absolute best! Keep up the great work.
+Kelly Kurt Right on Kelly!
one of the most terrifying looking twisters I've ever seen
hank uploaded the largest tornado ever seen which was 2 miles wide and much bigger than this one and it took the lives of 3 storm chasers
JDGaming 360Trickshot I am 100% already aware of that. I was speaking about aesthetically, not the damage that it (potentially, or otherwise) caused, nor the sheer size of it.
MetalBro It's A MONSTER!
@@MetalBro its not a twister thats a ef4
Awesome videos man, just stumbled upon your channel and i've been watching a ton of them. Made a new fan and be safe out there!
+Miguel7395 Thanks for hanging' out Miguel.
That tornado missed my aunts home by 1/2 a mile. She lives on the south side of Roff and she still had bad damage, probably RFD winds, but they have an underground shelter. She also said it was shaking the ground. Great vid as always man.
+craig curlee DUDE! your aunt is lucky. Glad to here that friend.
Thanks man! It was her first, she lives in Las Vegas, but owns a business in Ada and lives in a home in Roff. She said "They really do sound like trains!" lol....
anyone that dislikes this video is just doing it because they dont have balls of steel like you do.
🌪 That is scary if I see a tornado I will scream as loud as I could
Holy! I've watched so many videos on storms and tornadoes and this thing is a beast wtf. That's crazy
I love your videography! I'm a long time fan and something about your videos always makes me feel like I'm right there with you. This one was a nail biter for sure. Keep these great videos coming!
+Jim B Thanks for watching em Jim. I try my best to give you guys the experience.
Crikey, that was dangerously close!
Him: "Is this really happening? Is this really happening."
Me while eating my chip's: "Yes this is really happening."
Hello
Omg this is amazing!!!! You are my favorite storm chaser. This footage is sooo good!!!!!!
Nice video once again man, heart goes out to those who lost their homes and such. Also, keep up the music, I look forward to more after El Reno Blues! It's a go to every couple of days man.
+Chris Beasley Right on Chris! Cheers from Oklahoma .
beautiful footage, wish I could've chased it :/ I think I saw the anvil cloud from my house here in Frisco, had a massive protrusion up top
You would have a 99% chance of dying sir
looks just like a movie scene from twister
Outstanding video, Hank.
Your videos are AWESOME!!!!
Bovine (cow) is saying, "Well I might as well trying this flavor since I don't get out every day." (giggles)
Hand full of other chasers are like,"I'm to scared to get any closer so we'll just block the road for ever one else" Dumber than a box of rocks. Way to kick of the season Hank -YOU DA MAN !!
You have the best tornado, weather, & lightening videos ever, and your calm voice makes them even better. The piano talent is icing on the cake. Who needs generic background music? 😊 Also... Thanks for making sure your road friend is fed. I would pay you for "just chill" classes. 😄 Great job on your channel.
This is the dream job right here! Keep up the great work Hank!
I like the STOP sign right before the tornado. Hint? LOL
That cow was like i never get to graze over here
You make the best chase videos man keep up the good work
love all your videos they are the best!
I would have been horrified if I had seen this in person.
please be careful uncle Hank!
is he really your uncle
Well done. Your videos are always awesome
My favorite storm chaser of all time Hank!
A doppler on wheels recorded winds around 215 MPH with this tornado.
+OPX CHOPPER
Nope, they were recorded in the narrow violent tornado previous to this one that passed near Katie and Wynnewood.
+OHWX123 Oh ok thanks for letting me know.
thanks for that info..
It was 1.8 miles wide too!!!
I’m like this the whole time: WHERES THE SIREN????!!????
Thanks for another very entertaining vid.... Hank, your stuff is simply the best out there.... The best by a large margin. Appreciate it..
A tornado at night and a rain shrouded tornado are really terrifying...there's no beauty, just hidden terror. Well maybe some beauty. After all a tornado isn't evil. It's nature and nature is awe inspiring. Looking forward to more Pecos Hank this year, and hopefully no fatalities.
I admit to UA-camrs that I, do stop, if safe to do so, on back roads, and talk" love" to the horse at the fence or yell " FIRE " to cows to make them all look at me at once, and I talk to myself as well and have fun doing so, so I understand talking to the cow, with that being said, It is said that those who talk to themselves are of higher intelligence and you can double that if you talk to animals and are not embarrassed by it.
☺☺☺
Agreed.... totally ! No embarrassment at all ! I DO worry, just a bit when the animals talk back,,, and I can understand ! lol
Well it is usually better conversation than you can get from an adult these days lol
My pop talks to himself ALL THE TIME! He's done it for as far back as I can remember. Turns out he's an engineer...
Out of my way everyone I am gonna drive right into it!!!
Found it. Your the best storm chaser PERIOD!!!
This tornado had to have been at least a mile-wide if not more. The NWS in Tulsa confirmed a huge wedge tornado that was rated EF3 and was 1.8 miles wide at one point.
Poor cow's! They really have no clue.. 🤔❣️
man, you film these tornadoes until one of them grabs you!
Wow thanks for sharing!! Please be safe!
Pecos Hank, I just love your compassion for all those who's lives have been changed forever by the tornados you follow. Blessings to you. I do have a concern For you getting so close to these tornadoes. And how many cars have you ruined?
WOW, incredible, we truly are at the mercy of mother nature..great video as always
EPIC footage Hank
And I thought we had crazy weather here in Australia... You just proved that you guys take the cake!
Wow! Love your stuff Hank!!!! Had a tornado about 83 miles from where i live two weeks ago here in Colorado.
+April Williams Getcha some binoculars ;D
Pecos Hank I know right!! We get some close calls here in Sterling but haven't had one in town for many years. This year seems to be ramping up to be one hell of a tornado season tho for sure!! My kids and I love watching your videos. Keep up the great work and stay safe!!
+April Williams Keep your eyes to the sky and tell your kids Pecos Hank says howdy!
awww thanks! will do!!
This channel is the best
I love watching you work. You're either the bravest or the craziest chaser out there.😁👍
Me and my wife were watching your animal videos yesterday when this was happening. Glad you got great video, sad that people had to perish and lose property. Stay safe out there and keep making awesome videos.
+Jawless Eel (Jawlesseel) i thought it was going to be a lot worst. This storm dropped a tornado before the storm was warned. Cheers to you both!
You have a great sense of humor!
Great to see ya back in action pecos :)
Another great video. You add some extra spice to the storm season - that's a difficult feat my friend. How do you always seem to get in the right place at the right time? DO TELL !
I can't wait to see new vids in 2019 from this legend 😃
Same!
You are a legend Pecos Hank.
**Beep Beep** Pecos Hank coming through. lol I love it! Great video, thank you for the post!
I saw the radar signature on that storm. Pretty damn tight rotation in it from what I could see.
Hello Hank❤️...you are the coolest!! Love your videos ❤️
Best storm chaser ever!
Beautiful scene..
My only complaint with any of your videos, is they're not long enough.
I could watch this all day. I'm going to dig and see if you have a stash of unedited videos. I would love to see them.
I love how hank always ends up on the crappiest roads but we still know what's happening
It never ceases to amaze me that people stop TWO WIDE across the road and completely block it as if no one else may wish to get around. Heaven forbid someone who is panicked and driving the opposite way should come along ......
I don't know what was scarier: Seeing that wall cloud as you approached it or seeing the actual tornado. But still awesome.
Have to say. Pecos is one of my favorite storm chasers on UA-cam.
that dark cloudy weather is so beautiful 😍
One of the very best I've ever seen
Tornados are my biggest and yet I cant stop watching.
I loved your tornado video this is my first time. I felt like i was riding in the car with you when you sped around those vehicles . Then continued
Speeding . I thought your gonna get us killed! I said at one point, slow down! But you just acted like i was not there. I'm a new subcriber! Oh, what's the name of that song that plays at the end of your video. ? I liked that too. It reminded me of a movie with John Travolta .
I figured you were probably out a lot this week.
...I always think how I want to see one somewhat close up, but then I remember how much I freaked out at a cold air funnel that didn't even touch the ground last summer. It's insane how much worse these things are before the cells start dying off in Indiana.
I love your videos. Some of the videos I’ve seen from other storm chasers are so full of macho posturing that I just turn them off and come back here. Great footage, great commentary that I can actually learn from, and you take confused turtles off the road. You seem like a great storm chaser & all around nice guy. More power to you.
