For anyone who may need a quick summary: So, basically, you rescue a total of 32 adorable looking cartoon squids from various dangerous remote islands, give each of them a big hug, and then proceed to stack them up in sets of 4 so the Japanese fanservice equivalent of Hephaestus can mega-slam them with a giant fiery death hammer, then proceed to point casually at you and announce that you're officially harder to kill, you sexy, belly-dancing purveyor of cephalocide, you.

Actually, Shantae is a Western game, not Japanese. It just uses that anime/manga-esque art style.

Thanks for the video. I tried for hours trying to get that squid in Spiderweb island. Couldn't believe there was a hidden launch mouth underneath.

I nominate 22:05 as the most infuriating Heart Squid to obtain in the game. That was the final one I needed.
The Squid up in the tree at 1:35 can actually be obtained without need of the Cannon.
With good timing, you can get a running start from the hidden dark tree area in the upper left corner of the forest, and with careful jumping, stick to the high branches. Once you get to the last branch, jump and glide over to it with the Hat.
I've tried many times and never succeeded
It took me several tries, but I was eventually able to get it.
I'm only missing the very last one, and this one was kinda obvious anyway xD I feel stupid lol

i spent ages trying to get that squid on spiderweb island thinking i'd need an item i hadn't got yet to grab it, nope there is just a secret tunnel where you wouldn't expect it to be and it launches you to it smh. Thank you!

Like Muselk's top 10 loadouts in TF2, you're videos are simply the best of their kind. 2 100% games with one completed without heart squids... somebody loves their viewers!
Also, now I see why you are so good with this game; you might have challenged yourself with two hearts off camera and when it came to on-camera gameplay for the UA-cam profile, it was a cakewalk compared to your personal time.
Thank you very much, this video has been very helpful, I was missing 3 of those things ... however, Rottytops told me a tip when I visited, she mentioned that in each dungeon there were 3 of those things, no more no less and go to that I noticed that I was missing some but I did not know where they were or how to get them and thanks to this guide I already have all, by the way! Anyone else I notice that this of hearts is very nostalgic? Zeeelda xD the legend of Zelda haha

I'm not sure if this is known or not, but at 1:34 & 13:30 you can use recover after being damaged by enemies to get the squids early. I did this for the squids and some Cacklebats before I was supposed to because I didn't know of the other abilities to later be unlocked

This game is so great. I got it in a nintendo bundle ages ago but have forgotten to redeem it until just recently! It's fantastic.
I've been having this game for a while I past the game many times I just looked up online to find a way to find the answer to the last squid with the little monsters that spit you out found this video I got to say I give you props I found the answer from a post I a while back but still give you props.

Well I certainly learned a great speedrun trick, in addition to the squid locations.
I used to waste precious time trying to avoid enemies on foot, but now I can just flip them all the bird while I fly right over them!

I think you can make 8 total Heart Holders with those 32 Heart Squids, right? Because for every 4 Heart Squids you get, you get 1 Heart Holder if the heart squids are melted. Am I right? Tell my by replying.

How did you get all Risky's weapons at the beginning? Or did you just not collect all the squids until the end?
It's Pirate Mode. You start off with all of Risky's gear.

The starting point and saves of this game were annoying, they should use save anywhere mechanics to lessen the chore
