Have a bigger dog as well. Is there a way around or an alternative to tackling the ladder with just myself and my 80 pound dog?

Nope, that is the only way to cross that area unfortunately.

Nice hike. I love it out there. We went on a short hike called Moonflower Canyon. It snowed the day before and when the snow was melting down the canyon walls it was awesome. Muddy though. It's real close to town by the river.
