I desperately hope you do a "geogussr picks my books" you could go in and do a normal round and then pick books with the same general settings (probably country because I doubt you can find books to match all of the specific cities/towns) as where you're dropped.. and then read them for a vlog... Omg please! 🥺🥺
I completely agree, like I'm not spending more than 5 minutes on any given location haha. If I wasn't filming and *trying* to not look completely incompetent, I would normally just immediately click on any country and just go for it haha
thank you thank you thank you for talking about and encouraging people to learn about Palestine. this has been a lifelong fight for us (muslims/arabs) and the fact that people are now actually learning about this and talking about it is great progress so thank you again. #FreePalestine
Kayla: gave a disclaimer about how telling her she missed something is redundant because she is human and also this happened in the past Me at 11:19 screaming and pointing to "El Ateneo Grand Splendid": BUT KAYLA LOOK
Omg when you were doing the Argentinian one, and you first zoomed in on Buenos aires, you happened to zoom right on the place where El Ateneo was! It was in blue and had a little shopping icon on it! I was like, yelling at my phone “LALA” 💀
The Bookshop "Livraria Lello" is one of the most iconic bookshop in Portugal. It's in the 2nd biggest city in the country. (Livraria means bookshop in portuguese)
I feel like you kept trying to lower your own and the viewer's expectations by saying how it was going to go downhill, but I was so impressed. I feel like you really have to be super observational and pick up on small clues. It was so cool getting to see bookstores from other countries! I could spend an eternity in some of those stores!
Omg it was only because of the word "groenten" because I used to buy these little snack bags for Liam when he was a baby!! After I guessed that I realized that could easily be a word in many different languages so I definitely got lucky hahahaha
I live in Buenos Aires and El Ateneo Grand Splendid bookstore is life, it's so incredibly beautiful. I've also been lucky enough to visit the one in Portugal, it's also breathtaking.
If you're looking for bookstores, I'd like to recommend Prospero's Books in Kansas city Missouri. It's such a quirky bookstore and in the basement you're allowed to write/draw on the shelves. It also has random holes in the floor that are covered in plexiglass so you can look up/down depending on where you are
This was so funny to watch as a portuguese person , It hurt a little watching you struggle trying to find livraria Lello in Braga when it's in Porto 😂 also , the continuous struggle of being confused with Spain perseveres
I screamed when you where in bookstore "Dominicanen" in Maastricht, the Netherlands!! That is very close to where I grew up and I have been there many many times! 😍
I'm not even Irish but I feel like the Library of Trinity College in Dublin (with the Long room where the Book of Kells is) should definitely be included ! (it's kinda easy but it's iconic!!)
I live in Mexico's City, so when El Péndulo appeared I immediately knew where u were, like in the very first shot of it, when u accidentally closed it lmao. Those bookstores have such a particular aesthetic that you just know. And then, when you were suffering trying to guess where it is, I was just laughing so much. Sorry for having fun with your stress. And Polanco is inside Mexico's city lol
also, if you want to add another bookstore in the Netherlands for your map, my favourite is 'De Drvkkery' in the city center of Middelburg, it's in the south-west of the country! you cannot go in but the square it's on has stunning architecture
@@PrettyPurplePolkaDots As far as I'm aware in the Netherlands 'coffee shops/coffee houses' refer to a place you can smoke/get edibles. If you want an actual coffee you need to look for a cafe.
I actually had a chance to visit that bookstore in reconstructed church, when i was in Netherlands. It looks even better in person. Also it’s located in a beautiful old town called Maastricht, it has medieval architecture and i think it’s one of the oldest towns in Netherlands❤️🇳🇱
This is so much fun! And to realize you started with a bookstore I've actually been to many times! The American Book Center (that rival bookstore to the first one) is an all-English bookstore where I spent all of my time and money during my university days in Amsterdam. The Athenaeum that you had to guess was of course my second stop. (In my opinion the ABC is more incredible, with three stories and a wall of books next to the stairs 😍)
Ohh and the church-bookstore in Maastricht! Don't worry about "looking stupid", I'm from the Netherlands and thought that was the bookstore in a church in another Dutch city, Zwolle (and I've even BEEN there). This video is giving me new appreciation for our bookstores 💕
Ooooh, Bart's Books in Ojai! How exciting! I don't live in Ojai, but I live close enough to visit there every so often and it's a gem! Also, as much as I was failing hard while pretending to play along with you I still had the audacity to not understand how you didn't know exactly where Ojai was... HA! What fun this video was! I am excited for your map to become available!
I discovered geoguesser from your previous video and I’ve been playing it with my dad a lot, it’s been lots of fun. Great video! I’ll be happy to watch more vids of you playing geoguesser.
Kayla, I've never played GeoGuessr and your map was the first time that I've played! I got 24,544 and thought you might be proud! Also I only tried so hard because you did but honestly it was so much fun! Thanks for creating the map!
This video was so fun. I can see why this is your new favorite game. There were only seven locations on that map, but those were really exciting bookstores to see. Congratulations on your very high score! Well done, even though there were some technical glitches. Multitasking is hard.
Oh my god I did not expect to see any bookstores I irecognized in here haha. I've been to that first book store many times so that was a lovely surprise. Props to you for recognizing Dutch!❤️
This is so fun. I know you probably already have a pick for BC but my favorite is Russell Books in Victoria. Also, if you want to do Libraries, the Halifax Central Library is iconic. It is the place I miss the most from living there.
Hi Kayla you found the most famous bookstore in Buenos Aires, Argentina. My city, born and raised here. It's called El Ateneo because that's the name of the bookstore chain company. They've got other stores around the city not as charming as that one, which is a building dated from the early XX century. It was a theater, many decades before I was born. Then it was turned into a movie theater until the early 2000s, I went to see many movies there. It was closed for a while until the bookstore chain bought it. The building is considered city patrimony which means they couldn't change the facade, where the stage used to be there's a coffee shop. There's also a music and DVD sector. It's very popular with tourists, so if you ever find yourself down here, the bookstore is in Recoleta neighborhood on Santa Fe Avenue 😉
so crazy seeing you looking at the ateneo bookstore!! It's our biggest and it was named one of the most beautiful bookstores of the world, I hope you get to see it in person some day its incredible
Oh my gosh, I was so pleasantly surprised to see Bart's Books in this! I follow that bookstore on IG! I feel like you're too hard on yourself, feels like you were pretty good at this to me.
This was so fun to watch! My local bookstore is Givens Books & Little Dickens, in Lynchburg, VA, USA. Other favorite indies include Fountain Books in Richmond, VA, and Buxton Village Books in Buxton, NC.
This is the collab I needed in my life!! Thank you for keeping me entertained whilst trying to adjust after my move to another country. If you'd like, you could add my favourite bookstore from my home town to your map: Hartliebs Bücher, Währingerstraße 122, Vienna, Austria
I really enjoyed this video! I was screaming so loud at my screen, lol. If you're still looking for bookstores, there's another bookstore in Amsterdam called "Scheltema" which is a pretty big bookstore. There's also a bookstore in Hoofddorp (a city near Amsterdam) called "Boekhandel Stevens" where I like to shop.
it’s so funny seeing geoguessr have it’s resurgence because i used to play this in any spare time at school with my friends (we were awful) makes me miss them
best video ever, I looooooove geoguessr and obviously bookstores!!! definitely need to check out the dutch ones once we're allowed to travel again *heart eyes*
Please include the bookstore called „Dussmann das KulturKaufhaus“ in your map. It is located in Berlin, Germany and whenever I am there I just have to pay it a visit!
When you were in Amsterdam I basically shouted at you about where you were, and also, I was missing Amsterdam and the American Book Center in Amsterdam so much (which is the bookstore that was on the other side of the street from the AB in Amsterdam :D). This was so fun, and there are amazing bookstores in the world.
You did so amazing! I definitely knew from the architecture that the one store wasn’t in Italy and was further North, but that’s literally all I figured out.
You are way better at this than me! I’m terrible at GeoGuessr. When I lived in Chicago my favorite bookstores were Unabridged Bookstore at 3251 N Broadway, Women and Children First at 5233 N Clark and Myopic Books at 1564 N Milwaukee.
I am so happy we got to see all 7 incredible bookstores. Thank you for taking us on a virtual tour with you! You are so patient with narrowing it down. I would be happy with guessing the right country 😅
I love this!! I dunno if youre still looking at comments lol but Book Revue is a fairly well-known bookstore on Long Island in New York, so it might be a good one to add to your list (if you don’t already have it)!
Thank you Kayla for using your platform to express your solidarity with Palestine. You do not know how much it means for us to see such a prominent and inspiring person on social media raise her voice and support our struggle when we have been silenced for so long. I have been watching you for years and have always admired your activism. You have made me so proud to be one of your subscribers ❤️
Thank goodness you found Shakespeare & Co because when you didn't instantly where it was, I was very concerned! You gotta have The Last Bookstore in LA and Books Are Magic in Brooklyn (I think it's a fun pick for people expecting a bigger NYC bookstore). I'll throw out Fulton Street Books & Coffee for Tulsa, Oklahoma.
"Science Fiction Bokhandeln" in Gothenburg, Sweden is great! Also "Politikens Boghall" in Copenhagen, Denmark in case you have the time or want to add those to your map haha. this was fun!
I’ve been to Bart’s Books in Ojai! That store is also in the movie Easy A! It’s such a unique store. They have a cooking book section in an old kitchen!
My favorite indie bookstore is Skylark in Columbia, Missouri! It's pretty small but very cute, and another indie bookstore, Yellow Dog, is right next door.
For your map, here are some Kentucky bookstores to check out: -Carmichael’s bookstore in Louisville, KY (Bardstown Rd location-I had my engagement pictures taken here) -Joseph Beth Booksellers in Lexington, KY (it’s so pretty)
Omg you should add Recycled Books! It’s an indie in Denton, Texas and if they have pictures of the inside available it’s perfect because it’s converted from an old opera house!
(before I suggest some bookstores I just wanted to say I loved this video soooo much!! you did so much better than me at this game okay back to business) I just have to suggest my local bookstore Tsunami Books in Eugene, Oregon!! The inside is such a cozy space, it’s one of my favorite bookstores I’ve ever been to! Some others that are pretty cool are Powell’s in Portland, Oregon (as many others have said), The Last Bookstore in Los Angles, California, and this is a comic bookshop but Midtown Comics in NYC, New York.
If you're still looking for bookstores to add to your map, here's a few I've heard of or visited: Books and Crannies in Martinsville, VA Riverby Books in Fredericksburg, VA Mojo Books & Records in Tampa, FL Book-Off in Okinawa, Japan Tsutaya in Okinawa, Japan Astoria Bookshop in Astoria, NY Also I recommend snooping some book shopping vlogs/book store tours and finding a few there! Books and Crannies in Martinsville, VA
I live in Porto and I screamed a little when Livraria Lello appeared! It definitely deserves a spot in that list, because it really is incredible. And your guess was understandable, I would do even worse than you for sure, my geography knowledge is veeeeeery limited xD
So funny. I had the video on while doing something else, then looked up and immediately recognised the bookstore in Amsterdam. I’m Dutch and I love visiting Amsterdam. I love that bookstore a lot! As a Dutch book lover I have to admit I haven’t visited the other Dutch bookstore yet. I did recognise it almost immediately though, because it’s very well known by book lovers in the Netherlands. It’s probably in the top 3 of most beautiful bookstores we have here. PS fun fact: Den Haag is the Dutch name for The Hague (which is known for the International Court of Justice).
Don't know if you have already but you could add "Science Fiction Bokhandeln/SF-bokhandeln" in Stockholm (Västerlånggatan 48, Old Town) Sweden. It's my favorite book shop!! :) Loved this spin on geoguesser!
Ahhh I love this video idea!! If you’re looking at adding bookstores please consider Cofion bookshop in Tenby, Wales - it claims to be the most photographed bookshop in the UK & I personally love its chaotic energy 😂
For Oregon, USA, use Powell’s Books. It’s one of the biggest bookstores in the nation, with more than a half million books and thousands of square feet. Absolutely fabulous.
This was a fun video, and now I'm addicted to Geoguesser so thanks for that haha. I would have had a perfect score on my first game but it crashed in the very last round as I was putting in my guess 😭
i have a suggestion for a bookstore you could add: this is a very small german bookstore, but close to it there's a castle and it's just a very beautiful area of the city: "buchhandlung benno schoknecht", it's in schwerin in germany. i think it's definitely guessable.
You passed by "El Ateneo Grand Splendid" so many times on the map 😭
EDIT: OMG KAYLA LIKED MY COMMENT!!! HI, KAYLA! I LOVE YOUUUU 💖
I knowwww, I kept wanting to yell at her and remembering how she said that the viewer notices different things 😅
I saw that too. I was like "There it is!!!"
I was dying!!! 😂😂
It was the first thing I noticed when she zoomed in on Buenos Aires. 😂 But I see how she can miss it when she concentrates on speaking to the camera.
I desperately hope you do a "geogussr picks my books" you could go in and do a normal round and then pick books with the same general settings (probably country because I doubt you can find books to match all of the specific cities/towns) as where you're dropped.. and then read them for a vlog... Yes! This is a great idea!
or books she saw in the books stores around the world

You're better at finding random bookstores across the world than I am at finding my own keys..
Kayla saying not to get mad when the player misses things on the map and then scrolling past El Ateneo like 5 times lmaooo I was dying 😂

PS fun fact: Den Haag is the Dutch name for The Hague (which is known for the International Court of Justice).
If you need one in Richmond, VA Fountain Bookstore has a really cute street view with a lot of clues!
I’m so impressed! Well done! Maybe you could add Print or Longfellow Books in Portland, Maine?
ok now i just want to visit all of these bookstores, THEY ARE SO BEAUTIFUL
You always do these super interesting videos. How can I not love your content?! 🤍❤️
For Oregon, USA, use Powell’s Books. It’s one of the biggest bookstores in the nation, with more than a half million books and thousands of square feet. Absolutely fabulous.
Omg I've been to El péndulo i was so excited 😅 also you did great!
As a Portuguese I'm really happy to see Lelo library, in Porto, as an extraordinary library! It is really beautiful!
This was a fun video, and now I'm addicted to Geoguesser so thanks for that haha. I would have had a perfect score on my first game but it crashed in the very last round as I was putting in my guess 😭
This was super entertaining to watch! You're better at it than what you give yourself credit for 😄
This was so much fun! I have never heard of this and now I want to try it!
For your map you should add The Book Loft in Columbus OH. 😊
i have a suggestion for a bookstore you could add: this is a very small german bookstore, but close to it there's a castle and it's just a very beautiful area of the city: "buchhandlung benno schoknecht", it's in schwerin in germany. i think it's definitely guessable.
this was literally such a comfort video for whatever reason pls
This was highly entertaining!! Your comment about book shopping made me think you should buy books from stores in a geoguessr 😂
