- The first 10km Laguna segment of the #CaviteLagunaExpressway was partially opened to motorist last October 30, 2019 as to make way for Undas. The event was graced by DPWH Secretary Mark Villar. The first segment of #CALAX which is the Laguna segment is around 10 km and begins from the newly constructed Mamplasan Rotunda which is located in SLEX Mamplasan Exit. All other exits within this stretch is still not operational as of this moment except for the Santa Rosa Tagaytay Interchange which is the current terminus of this stretch. The Calax will bypass the SLEX Eton Greenfield Exit , the narrow Greenfield parkway and United Blvd as the terminus ends up in Santa Rosa Tagaytay Road just after Qualimed and beside Fort Sto Domingo near in front of AUP Academy property. The entire CALAX from Mamplasan to Kawit is around 45km
Guide cones were placed as to guide vehicles since one lane per carriageway was accessible (due to the partial opening) and to give space for the contractors to finish the remaining works. The speed limit imposed was 60kph and the good news was Toll Free!

to see the changes in the schedule of access to motorist. As of the moment the schedule includes:
October 30 until 10PM, and on October 31-November 2, we shall be open from 6:00AM to 10:00PM.
For the daily access time starting November 3, it will be Sunday to Thursday 6:00AM to 6:00PM and giving extended time on weekends, Friday to Saturday 6:00AM to 10:00PM.
This is the third toll road operated by #MPTSouth #MPTC Metro Pacific Tollways in the southern portion of NCR and Southern Luzon. One was Cavitex, second which was the recently opened Cavitex C5 Link Flyover which was opened last July and now the CALAX. The next portion to be opened soon is the SIlang segment.

A major milestone, congratulations! Even though you can already imagine how on busy days the intersection with Sta. Rosa - Tagaytay road will become a major bottleneck that will lead to a lot of traffic buildup on the 1 lane road connecting to CALAX, and extend beyond the toll plazas and onto the expressway.

My opinion, it should've been a dedicated highway intersection between CALAX and SLEX. A roundabout built beside an existing on-off ramp this way will have a lot of issues in the future, including congestion of said on-off ramp, congestion of the roundabout itself, and the apparent mixing of traffic using all these facilities at once. If they went for a dedicated interchange for CALAX, instead of using Mamplasan, then at least the traffic meant for both highways would be diverted away from the traffic that's just gonna use the ramps and local roads. Basically Mamplasan, which I feel is meant to service one highway and one local road, is now servicing TWO highways and one local road. So just use your imagination how that'll turn out in the coming couple years with the rising population density and lack of quick and efficient mass transit options in the south.

My opinion, still bottleneck on the exit on sta rosa- tagaytay road
Urvan Airhorn in my opinion, due to the difficulties to get a better RoW land usage there (except if they made that exit a bit further), they're stuck between letting just 1 lane per direction or making it 2 lane per direction but minus hard shoulder and central median

Borikits Lifestyle I agree. Puwede na average speed limit. Kunan ng photo day starting point and another photo at a second point. Then compute ang average speed between those points. Mas maganda yan kesa sa on the spot radar shoot.

Not all highways in the US are toll free. There are toll roads there as well. Mostly in the Eastern corridor.

@10:00 choke point.........I don't know how much time you'll save. it will be useless if you'll get stuck in the traffic there for an hour. The real problem of the Philippines aside from lack of infrastructure is over population. No matter how fast our economy grows it won't be able to sustain it because of too many people. Just observed most developed countries in the world, they have less population. Less resources from the Government is needed to provide good quality of life for their people.
