    I’m currently doing a bit of paper trading to practice before adding any stakes. I found it useful to use a hedging calculator such as the one on goal profits to see what the target odds would be to get an idea of what the target odds would be to lock in a 1:1. At first I thought if you layed at say 1.2 you would need the odds to double to 1.4 in order to profit 1:1. I then realised in reality it’s more like entry odds x 2 (and a bit) to guarantee that 1:1.
    Great videos though, I have got a lot of value out of these so thanks Ben. If I can crack becoming a profitable tennis trader I’ll be in your debt for many a cold beer😂

    Cheers Ben nice video I like risk around 1 to 1 but if I cannot watch match I like to leave my orders in market for a bit of a overreacting swing in price and ' hits a good % of times and also for extra chance is put your cash profit order in for Betfair to cash you out at a certain profit that you want ? It's nice especially when I'm out on the drink with friends and my orders are hit and my phone buzzes ? I just think champion Thiers my next couple of hours drinks paid for 🍺🍺🍺👍👍👍👍

    I typical automate my strategies so I have a mix. automation removes emotion. I have a 40-1 strategy that's doing well under test £20 stake for a 60-70p win, and I have a 1-50/60 doing OK (not as well as the first). If I was doing it manually I'd be a wreck doing 40-1.

    Anyone got any reviews on buying the ultimate tennis trading course? Just want to make sure it’s good before buying. What’s different to these free UA-cam tutorials?

    • @SportsTradingLife
      @SportsTradingLife  3 роки тому

      More detail than the youtube videos and the actual step by step of the methods alongside how to actually find the opportunities. A course is good for structure and to get the full picture. Feel free to email me if you need any further details.

    Hi Ben, I like risk 1 to win 3, but in my last 50 tennis trading (lay the leader after first set), win rate was only 18%. ☹

    • @SportsTradingLife
      @SportsTradingLife  3 роки тому

      That is interesting, so that is risking 1 to win 3? I think if laying the first set winner and trying to risk 1 to win 3 you probably need the losing player to actually win the next set or the match? So maybe going for a smaller risk-reward ratio might work better for you in this scenario.

      @@SportsTradingLife Thanks for your answer. The situation is more complicated, because every time I back the favourite who lost first set (favourite starting odds was average 1.55-1.7, that means after first set the odds is about 4,00 or 1:3). If underdog lost second set than win rate is about 80%-120% and I made a trading. If underdog was good in the second set I made a ‘stoplost’, but after 50 games total summary is minus. Is your advise: I need a smaller risk-reward? That means favourite starting odds is 1.25-1.4?

    • @SportsTradingLife
      @SportsTradingLife  3 роки тому +1

      Why not try the same trade but go for 1:2 ratio? Should be more realistic.

    Do you ever do any live examples where there's bigger figures involved like £3900 instead of a £39 liability where the risk reward would be the yin and yan scenario. I.E You would need to sell a lot more tennis trading courses if you were to endure a loss

      I tend not to use bigger stakes in videos so that it doesn't encourage people to use more than they can afford. Best to keep it sensible for the majority. Either way, the stake size doesn't matter since it is about the learning right?

    Do you use any Software when you trade Tennis Ben?, is there any need for it where Betfair Tennis is concerned?, I'm on the cusp of starting to trade Tennis - would you reccommend I use Software?, if so which package?

    • @SportsTradingLife
      @SportsTradingLife  2 роки тому

      In the videos I try to use the interface but software can definitely be a big help with it since the markets move so quick. Try to learn on the interface first though, then you will know if you need it after a while!

    I'M DONE!!!.....the reason I stopped playing Texas Hold'em poker a few years back because the mad 'swings' involved was doing my head in ,lol,...but compared too the up and down nature of Tennis betting/trading!!!!! Poker now looks a calming and relaxing pursuit?....good luck to those that have sussed this Sport out and do manage to grind out a profit....but it's not for me.👎

    Guessing this strategy works best when the players are evenly matched before the match and the 1st set played out that way as in the examples used?

    • @SportsTradingLife
      @SportsTradingLife  3 роки тому

      Hi Ben, keep in mind this wasn't a specific strategy but more just showing that you can go for a 1:1 risk-reward ratio when you enter the trade. This can be done at lots of opportune times in matches and in various match ups also.

    • @W4ndererBen
      @W4ndererBen 3 роки тому

      @@SportsTradingLife I get that part, just meant the fact you were entering the trade by laying the player that had narrowly lost the 1st set. I can imagine this isn't something you would look to do if there is a large disparity in the players involved as the pre-match favourite would probably still be favourite after losing the 1st set 6-7?

    • @SportsTradingLife
      @SportsTradingLife  3 роки тому

      It really depends, you CAN do it in any odds range but lots to consider. Good news is I just did a video on the subject here: ua-cam.com/video/azJCTY05Llo/v-deo.html
