Hey! It depends on a couple things such as your nationalities, standard of living you are looking for and the amount you want to put aside. Say you pay 20-25k for a flat (for one bedroom flat), then around 25k for food, then say 5 extra to cover health insurance, phone bills, internet. The rest is up to you :)
I applied for a job in Prague as an insurance claim analyst for a company called Accenture. Do you know what salary is reasonable to expect from that job? Around 35-40K CZK? The apartment rents seems to be just as awful as here in Norway.
Well, I can not comment on if the salary is adequate to the job. What I can comment on is that 35k gross, translates to 28k net and studios start at about 17k so you might be left with 10k to live, save, invest and whatever else you do with your money.
@@jankalina-CzechVisaExpert I would hope for 40K gross in that case. I am single so I don't need much. If I get the job offer I will move. If I move to Prague my goal is to enjoy the city and see more of the country and travel to surrounding countries in my free time. Prague seems just as expensive as apartments in Norway. Here in Norway you need to pay at least 10 000 norwegian crowns which is about 1000 euros, for even a small apartment with mediocre standard. Is 28K or even 34 k net affordable or is it a tight budget?
How do English teachers make it out there? Especially the ones who stay out there for many years? According to the TEFL Worldwide Prague website, teachers can expect to earn anywhere from 24,000 to 35,000 CZK before taxes.
Yeah, it is getting harder for teachers to live here. Especially the first year can be tough since you have a lot of expenses (housing, visa, insurance etc.) and not that high income. If you stay longer, it usually gets better since you get more private students (who pay more than schools), you might find employment instead of freelancing, you might get into better negotiation position with schools (to increase your pay), etc. Also, it helps if you live in a shared flat and not in your own place.
Depends on what you mean recognized. If you talk about employers, yes, they usually do not care where the diploma is from as long as it is what they are looking for. As for authorities, if they need an official recognition (say for your trade license, further studies etc.), you would need to go through a process called nostrification: ua-cam.com/users/liveee4SJwS4EzU?feature=share
Hi, is it easy to find an apartment for rent in Prague? I am planning on renting an Airbnb for 3 weeks while I look for an apartment for long term. I'll be there for 10 months. I wonder if the 3 weeks is enough to find an apartment?
Hey! I have done a few videos exactly about this topic, will try to share them below later on. Generally finding a place to live in Prague is a nightmare unless you have a very high budget. Three weeks generally work though.
20K rent and 15K other expenses are min in the Czech Republic while you can't even make 35K net on average. It just does not make sense to live there as a worker. On top of that, you will spend a lot of money on the visa and the documents. If you don't care about the money, Prague is beautiful and fun.
I would like to ask how would be a 70k czk net salary for living in Prague? I checked the rents and they were pretty expensive, so i wonder if this amount would be an OK or a way OK salary. 🤔
Well, it depends on the number of people moving, your live style and mainly the accommodation you find. If you are fine with a studio/one bedroom flat, you will be more than fine with a bit of care. If you want a luxurious 2 or 3 bedrooms, you might struggle.
I mean, if you said 70k net ten years ago, it would be a super amazing salary and you could live an amazing life here. Now, the average salary (of course that is just a virtual number and most people make less but still) is 50k gross so you would be making just a little above average. So, no longer a luxurious salary, more like ok, as you mentioned :) Comfortable but not super high.
Hi Jan, thank you for making this video. I'm planning to move to Brno with my family - wife (not working) and 2 kids aged 6 years & 1 year. I plan to take a 3 BHK apartment outside city center. We do not have very expensive tastes (cooking at home, minimal shopping). I'm a Finance manager in an MNC. What range of net (in hand, after deducting taxes & insurance) monthly salary would be required if I want to save 25 - 30% of my net salary (for retirement planning etc)?
My pleasure :) I would recommend at least 100k net. If you deduct 30%, that leaves you with 70k. 3 bedroom flat will be around 30k at leats, that leaves you with 40k to spend. Food, traveling, phones, savings for yearly insuramce etc. - 40k would be the very minimum in my opinion.

In the US I make an equivalent of 2,046,282 CZK/Month ($90,000 USD) gross. If I were to move to the Czech Republic still making this amount, where would you recommend I live?
Well, it depends why would you move here, what you except and what you are looking for :) You'll be fine anywhere in the Czech Republic with this amount.
Hi Jan, Thanks for the great videos. I net around 130-140czk/month plan on moving to Brno in the coming month, usually eat at home (work from home) and spend most of my time in nature. Would that salary be comfortable? Planning on finding an apartment for 15-20k/month.
I disagree that with 6000 CZK a month, you can only eat butter, rice bread, and ham! If you can cook and would cook at home, with 6-7k CZK you can easily have breakfast and two proper hot meals for lunch and dinner (I'm talking meaty, hearty, healthy, and fresh meals).
I have questions. I want to move to Czech Republic permanently I earn the equivalent of 75-80k Czech Crowns from a small business I funded and aside from that I earn an additional: equivalent to 50k Czech crowns from a property I rent. I don’t plan on working, I basically want to retire at 35 and live there with my mother. Is there an option for us to move to Czech Repiblic under these conditions ?
Depends on the country of origin. If you are an EU citizen, then no problem. If you are a non-EU citizen, there is not really an option for you at this point. The only one could be the digital nomad visa if you meet all their conditions.

If gross, it will be just about ok, I think. Rwnt for three will be at least 25-30. Insurance about 50k a year so say 4k a month to set aside. Phones, internet, tram tickets might be another 5k, so you might have about 30k for food and other stuff. Might be a bit of a struggle if you meed to pay for kindergarten etc.
Yeah, it is ok. Depends on your lifestyle. You'll spend most likely about 20-25k for a flat. That leaves you with 50k. You should be giving a bit aside for the immigration (i.e. fees, insurance etc.), so let's say 45k to spend. That's alright of you do not eat out every day.
Hello sir. What do you think of a salary of 95k Czk, for a single guy, planning to stay in 1 bedroom apartment, eat out a few times here and there, travel occasionally. Is it enough to save
Hey! 95k gross translates to 73k net which should be fine, You should be realistically even able to save some money :) Depends on how much would you travel. I would say if you only eat out/order take away a few times a month, your cost might be say 20-25k for a flat, 10-15k for food, say 5k to cover other things like phone, public transport, household goods etc. So you might have about 25k to use for traveling, saving and other stuff.
@@estebanm.4949 Ok, that will be around enough then. Your rent for family of three will be say around 30k (if not luxurious), that leaves 80k for living. 30k will go for food monthly, 50k left, that is alright, you can save a bit as well. Then it depends on your nationalities since health insurance for non-EU citizens is around 25k a year for an adult, way more for a new born. So you need to count these expenses in as well.

Well, it would be more than luxurious for one person, luxurious for a couple, more than enough for family of three or four. For 5-6 people, it will be just ok. Well, it depends on you lifestyle mainly. 133 gross will be 100 net. If you are fine with a smaller flat for 25000 CZK a month and you mainly cool at home, you should be able to live ok and maybe even save a bit. If you consider your family's insurance (say 50k a year) and and international kindergarten (say 10-15k a month), you will probably not have too luxurious life here but can certainly make it work.

My net salary is 43000 CZK and I am married…. Going to Prague with my wife…. Would you please confirm that the net salary what I would get is enough….? The flat rent is around 17000CZK including all the utilities
It will be ok, considering everything probably nothing great but ok to survice here. 43-17=26. Out of that, you need to count with say 3 to take away for immigration purposes (insurance, admin fees etc.), then some phone plans (say 1000 CZK in total) and public transport pass (say 1000 in total). That leaves 21 for 2 people for all the rest. Doable but not great.
What’s the average monthly salary for a senior software engineer? I’m looking to move with my wife to Brna or Prague, but I’m not sure how much would be to have a good to almost luxury life
Hey! I would say that senior software engineers can get between 100-150k CZK a month. As for living a luxurious life, it depends on how you define luxurious. From my perspective, a job can never give you a real luxurious life. Especially not in Prague now.
It should be fine for one person to couple tops. Not really for a family. it also depends if 2600 EUR nett or gross. Nett is fine, gross would be like 50 000 CZK nett which would be like a borderline for a couple. Ok for one person.
@@amitkumardubey3932 I would say it's ok. Tje rent is super high now so you need to be ready to pay say 20-30k gor rent at least. Then say 1500 monthly tickets, 1500 monthly phones, food might be 20-30k monthly if you want to eat out from time to time. Healt insurnace for an adult is about 25k yearly, for a child either slightly less or more depending on the age. So, generally, if you REALLY focus on saving, you might be able to save 30k a month, if not and you just want to live your live here comfortably, you might save maybe 10k or so.
I have to say Prague is an expensive city. When you are a healty person, it might sound like you can live but when you start having a family or a health issue or idk want to have couple of things to do as a hobby, then you have to pay thousands of money for nothing. simple process in dentist even cost 5k czk. International school are insanely expensive.. language school are the same. If you want to go for tennis or other sport, it is expensive as well. Renting is another problem. Utilities, gas, estate, education, traveling, simple grocery even are expensive in this city. For a single person you have to earn at least 40-45k net salary to live just ok :D otherwise, ready to struggle.
I completely agree with the salary range. 50k nett was like wow salary say 10 years ago. Just before covid that was still very good, not it is almost a must if you want to live an ok life. @@jankalina-CzechVisaExpert 2 people and we are planning a baby
Generally, a good salary for two people, still good with a new born as well.
@@jankalina-CzechVisaExpert Thank you for taking time to answer my question I really appreciate it!
What are the qualifications one must have to be a teacher in Czech Republic?
It depends on what kind of teacher. Language schools usually require TEFL/CELTA and/or experience, primary, secondary, high schools usually require Master's Degree. Private students usually require you speaking English better than them 😂
Could you make an job oppertunity in Brno for students... Earning, living.

Hello sir what’s the average salary for student who completed studies in field of business?
Hey! I can not answer that.
THAT IS VERY EXPENSIVE AND COSTLY to live in Prague in comparison to the amount of salary rate one makes.
It has changed a lot last few years.

Hi brother, I am British national living in prague from last 10 days. I have czech wife and applied family visa at cigankova ministry of interior. They have stamp on my British passport visa for 6 months and said you will get your family biometric card if approved. Could you please tell me the card I will recieve it will be for 5 years or less and normally how long they take to send it. We are married from last 7 years and got kids. Please respond many thanks
Hey Hassan! If you are married to a Czech citizen, you should get the residency for 5 years :) As for the approval, officially 60 days but can be up to 6 months or so, that is why they gave you 189 days visa.
@@jankalina-CzechVisaExpert thanks 😊 alot. Please keep up the good work. I will be in touch with you soon.
@@jankalina-CzechVisaExpert if I got 5 years residency in czech republic. Could i sponsor my Brother who is 18 years of age. I have income from Uk and will do something over here in Czech Republic. Is 210,000 CZK a Good Salary for living in Prague with 4/6 family members?
Well, it would be more than luxurious for one person, luxurious for a couple, more than enough for family of three or four. For 5-6 people, it will be just ok. I mean for everyday life, it would be great but as a foreigner, you have to count with other expenses as well. I.e. flat for 6 people will be around 50k a month, health insurance for 5 people around 150k a year, private schools for kids would be from 15k a month for one person etc.
Im looking for a cloud engineer/ virtualization engineer job for 60,000czk + is that good considering that the current inflation is 19.3% I'm a US national with a Czech passport.
60 000 CZK gross is an ok salary :) 60k gross is about 47k nett. If you keep your rent low, you will be ok. Five years ago, it would have been a great salary, now not really but it is ok.
@@jankalina-CzechVisaExpert so are you saying I can ask for more? And they will give it to me?
@@justinvanek3976 It of course depends on your experience, education, the company etc. I was mainly just commenting on if the 60k is a good salary in Prague or not :)
@@jankalina-CzechVisaExpert ok cause I have a university psychology back ground have 3 years experience in IT and have a CompTIA server Plus certificate as of this year. As well as some coding experience in html and python
unless you are a new graduate that salary is low for such a role
Hi Jan, thanks for the video. I am from India. I am being offered around 133000 czk gross/month. If I accept it, i will be moving alongwith wife and 4 year old kid. Is this offer worth considering? Please consider angle of having a kid as well. Thank you.
@@jankalina-CzechVisaExpert Thank you so much for your valuable inputs Jan.

How much salary general helper
Minimum salary in CZE is 16 200 CZK in 2022. Low qualified jobs are usually slightly above this. Depending on the exact position and city you work in.
Why in one video I was interrupted 5 times by ads. Is it not too much?
I think this is more of a question for UA-cam than for me 🤷
Pls what is the minimum salary in chech republic

@@jankalina-CzechVisaExpert good answer
Is 2600 EUR/month a good salary package.
It should be fine for one person to couple tops. Not really for a family. it also depends if 2600 EUR nett or gross. Nett is fine, gross would be like 50 000 CZK nett which would be like a borderline for a couple. Ok for one person.
@@jankalina-CzechVisaExpert is 90K CZK NET is good salary for 3 person for living in Prague? How much we can save if expenses are normal.
@@jankalina-CzechVisaExpert Thank you for your quick response. It will help.
@@amitkumardubey3932 Happy to help :)
Hi ! Is 2000 EUR/month net a good salary to live in Plzen. I plan to rent a room instead of an apartment to reduce costs.
That could work :) That would be around 50k CZK a month net, with renting a room, I can see that as an ok salary :)

Crazy change.
On another note though, I have just shot a video about pros and cons of life in the Czech Republic: ua-cam.com/users/live1Tm6VxBHMA4?feature=share

Can everybody speak in English in czech sir ?
Not really, especially not in smaller cities. Bigger and/or tourist cities such as Prague, Brno, Cesky Krumlov etc. are fine :)
Try speaking slowly. You're very hard to understand because of your heavy accent.
