The marooning used to be so iconic now I feel like it's forgettable - they need to bring back the grab what you can carry/raft challenge even if it's less useful stuff than past seasons. That was always my favorite part - and it can lead to legendary scenes like when Rupert pirated everybody's shoes and sold them. I wouldn't mind them figuring out some kind of market exchange in Fiji. The hidden advantage there and seeing everyone scramble was a great way to get a bead on everybody, too, and can set up some rivalries. The intro used to be dynamic, and starting with them on the beach is static. Diving into the mud is not a great replacement.
What’s to carry? They get nothing. Even in Pearl Islands they all ended up with shoes to wear… I would prefer they got food and basic supplies. They literally give them cut logs of bamboo to build shelters with. I don’t understand why we are pretending real marooned people could survive with no food

Damn Jack, I felt for ya during that debate about poker! Here's what you gotta say next time: poker is literally the one game in a casino that involves skill, while roulette, craps, blackjack, slots, etc. are all purely games of luck. Yes, there is luck involved in poker too, but it's primarily a game of skill, which means you can be "good" at poker. It's literally not possible to be "good" at games of pure luck, at least not good enough where you'll win in the long run. This is what makes poker extremely different than other types of "gambling" and what a lot of people don't get.

Yes, Poker is gambling. However, it is not a game of a chance. It takes skill and it is something you can be good or bad at. Jack saying that "he's not a gambler" doesn't mean that he doesn't play gambling games, it means that he is risk averse to games/situations/things (like Gabe's idol quest) that he doesn't have any control over. Right???? Somebody back me up 😂

I don’t think it was just pride. I think his adrenaline probably went crazy combined with exhaustion and sleep deprivation and the pressure of feeling like he knew he was on the bottom and they had to win…gnarly combination. I just wish he hadn’t talked right then after just getting up, it was obvious he was still so out of it…he needed time to compose himself but sadly vented out loud instead. You really never know how Survivor is gonna play out, you couldn’t script this stuff. 😅

Congrats to Jack for giving the worst explanation for games of skill vs. chance. 🤣The phrase "house edge" would've gone a long way.
In a game like roulette, you are playing against the casino. If you win $10,000, that's $10,000 coming out of the casino's bank. So they create rules that ensure that in the long run (over thousands of spins), the casino ends up ahead and the players end up behind. There is no strategy to combat it because the rules/payouts mathematically favor the house over the long run.
In poker, you are playing against the other civilians. If you win $10,000, it's because some other random people collectively lost $10,000. The rules are neutral because you are playing other players and the casino is basically just hosting the game for a fee. So if you are a good player, you should be able to win money in the long run because the casino has no incentive to stop you like they do in the other games.
Up down or sideways, respectfully Jack a gambler. What I want to know is he get benefits from the part time job while he playing though?

I noticed the same thing Brice about TK talking about Aysha. A little worried he and Rome don’t seem to be siding with her initially but I have all the faith in Aysha socially and strategically! Really liked Teeny too. Sam as well.
I’m hoping Andy can turn it around and have a good experience/game. It made me sad when he pulled Rachel at night and she was not there for it… although I don’t fault her it was rough to watch.
