  • The Centennial Symposium is part of Duke’s 100th Anniversary Celebration event organized by the Fitzpatrick Institute of Photonics (FIP): “Engineering Light to Empower the World”
    The entire event consists of three distinct events:
    Centennial Symposium - Light in Service of Society: The video loop of this symposium will run continuously in the Schiciano Auditorium throughout the day and will be available on UA-cam throughout 2024.
    Exploring the Wonder of Light - Lasers, Lenses & Light” Outreach. A series of exposition booths in the FCIEMAS Atrium offering demonstrations suitable for all ages, showcasing the nature of light and its applications in research and everyday life.
    Moving Forward at The Speed of Light through Space & Time: A session featuring Light Painting demonstrations suitable for all ages, showcasing light's use in art, culminating in a laser show.
