This feels like overstimulated overstimulation, and that's not even taking into account the stress of fighting youtube... i kinda agree with the suggestion of maybe taking a couple days off, away from the noise and the heat and the cats maybe?? Idk seems like there's just too much going on at the same time and i wouldn't be able to function, let alone be creative in any way if i was in your place ... i hope things'll go better soon )):
I’m gonna be parasocial for a sec here. I’m genuinely worried about you. It feels like for the past year or so I’ve been watching your mental health decline in real time. It’s so noticeable that you’re doing badly, Duncan, even just on the main channel. It feels like the reason why you’re making videos has changed from genuine passion to something more desperate, more anxious. Validation, attention, success, financial security- I can’t tell you which one it is, but be honest with yourself: you’re not doing this out of love for the art anymore. There is a point when the push to create, to produce something, to be validated and loved and supported by others, becomes a form of self harm. I can’t tell you whether that’s the case for you, but I’m scared that it is. It seems like the financial and social pressure of being a “content creator” has really caught up to you in a negative way. As a viewer, what I’ve seen in the past three years was a young, passionate, optimistic man turn into someone who doubts himself at every turn, holds himself and others to unrealistic standards, and is destroying himself trying to reach them. It’s scary. I’m scared for you and your wellbeing. I want you to be well and I don’t think UA-cam is helping.
I can’t even tell you how much I appreciate this - better or worse I feel very seen. Taking on UA-cam production full-time was not the move for me, it was ambitious but it didn’t cooperate with my health. I’m hoping once I land a part-time job it can turn UA-cam into a passion project again, so there’s hope! But I wanted to thank you specifically for saying this, and I promise you there’s a positive change on the horizon
Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm I’m no mental health professional, just a professional at being mentally ill lol, but this sounds like a spiral to me and i think you should spend time with your friends and family (stay at someone else’s house till the construction is done???) and reevaluate what ‘s going to make you feel the best going forward. But I don’t think this is a “sign” for anything. I think a lot of UA-camrs have a time in their lives like this.
Maybe you could try and film in the evening or at night once the construction crew is done for the day? Or could you possibly film at a friend's or family member's place for a few hours or however long it takes to record? Just a suggestion or two. Hope things get back to normal for you soon bud. ❣️
It seems like noise bothers you besides just causing problems with filming. I'm sad your having to deal with that. I hope this suggestion isn't irritating, but maybe you could do some less scripted, kinda lower stakes videos? It might be nice to cover less heavy subject matter from time to time. Again I could be way off. Hope things turn around soon, you're a really cool guy

I don't have anything to say other than take care of yourself and I hope everything works out for you

How good do your main channel videos have to be for you to get the money you need? Cus I'm all for rewatching your videos if it'll help 🤝
