🤣 well, stress just adds to stress - plus if it goes wrong, it's a simulation thankfully. I was always been taught to keep a cool head, plan ahead of the aircraft and have a backup plan if it goes wrong... Theory being if I'm thinking far enough ahead, nothing is a surprise :)
Beautiful! My only tiny suggestion would be that you could show a replay of your landing from a few different views (after or during the initial landing). Happy flying and Cheers!
I did try - the second I began replaying with flightrecorder I had the good old Crash to Desktop 🤣 I'll be doing it live this Friday so be sure to tune in!
Great job staying ahead of the dc6 on that approach. Just starting learning this aircraft myself. Usually, I don't have too much trouble, but with the dc6 I'm getting way behind on even simple approaches. I end up either too fast, too slow, too high, too low, and completely disoriented lol! My landings are a total embarrassment, but I'm really enjoying the challenge.
This very trip was in my mind! Don't worry about the flaps, your speed was 170 which is correct and you chose to add drag at the right time. You really want to make sure your speed will be managed well, and slowing down to approach speed earlier would have been best
My concern is the engines - I remember hearing that they like a consistent power on approach and with the terrain I was worried if I got too low and too slow I'd be in a tricky situation 🤣 thanks for the tips! I'll try it live tomorrow!
I did try, someone else asked the same thing too 🤣 I got a screenshot with the replay and then when I rewound it to record it from an external view I got a CTD 🤣
@@BritishAvgeek ahhhh, ,, ha.. wow, imagine that , a CTD in a flight sim... maybe some day we will be CTD-less. And sorry, I meant "replay" not "reply" ... ugh. at least youtube still lets us edit posts. ;)
Great job on the video's. Have a question? I'm new to Vatsim but I'm a real world Commercial/Instrument pilot. Question is, If there is no Gnd, Twr, C/D on duty at your airport, but Center is on. Can you get your IFR clearance from Center like in real world?
Congratulation, I've made a lot of approach but direclty on RNW 26 never as you did and with liner like zibo, so it was very easy compare to your landing,!
Do you know how to properly enter the winds from a Simbrief FP into the CRJ PERF INIT 2/3 page? If you load the FP straight into the FMS those 3 fields get populated properly.
It's in the big gumph of info in the actual generated simbrief flight plan - ISA Dev is usually at the top on the right hand side then wind is a few pages down
It s a beautiful simulator but they need to fix those airplane instability especially around the lateral and longitudinal axes. I bought MSFS the first day it was on the market and after 3 weeks I gave up as the plane are not flyable. The scenery are wonderful and it a shame I can t use it.
@@BritishAvgeek Following your posting, I decided to re- download FS 2020 and I have to say it s much much better. There is still work to do but most airplane are flyable and I won t go back to FSX. So I would like to thank you for your suggestion ! Cheers
@@raymondpalaz5355 fantastic! Biggest rule is to keep everything updated, windows, graphics drivers and all add-ons you have installed (including liveries)
Certainly doesn't - probably found myself a little fast on approach because I didn't want to change the engine output too much (and I couldn't remember how best to fly it 🤣) I'll do it again live tomorrow and see what happens with a full route
I just cannot fathom how you always keep your cool, no matter which aircraft you are flying, nailed it again!

Love the LOWI approaches. The scenery is amazing.
Always spectacular isn't it! If only I had time to appreciate the views this time around 😅

good fun when you actually do it...... practice.......

@@BritishAvgeek 90 bmep should be sufficient, as you're using flaps to control the speed. Either way, you flew like a pro!
@@Aleksandar6ix thanks! Far far from pro though 🤣 all the good bits were from the Artificial Flight Engineer and not me 🤣 I'll make note of 90bmep!
Excellent but where were the external camera shots of that beautiful landing? You need to get your replay groove on my man.

Thankyou! And VATSIM works on a top down principal so you can then contact the centre controller covering over your airport to request clearance 👍

Just a note, flaps 20 is anything under 174 knots, the white band is flaps 30 and greater.

The DC6 does not like sudden movements. Most radil engine propliners dont because of the engine type. To be honest better than what I would have done.

the engine sounds do not seem all-too realistic (I know the real ones from outside and inside)
interesting, might be worth feeding your findings back to PMDG via their forum as they developed it from my understanding with DC6 pilots/engineers
