When I do a playing out from the back exercises with GK + back 4 + DM vs a pressing four, I always have two groups of attacking/pressing players in different colour bibs. After every out, I rotate the new four in. This allows a much better pressing action from younger players who can't maintain that level of intensity for very long.
This is an excellent and very easy to understand video, thank you. We are moving from 9 a side to junior 11 a side and I want to focus on playing out from the back more, confidence to do so.
Great video.. Even though my team doesn't speak english, I was able to show the required movements on a tablet and explain to them. Top quality, great work, many thanks!
This is one our favorite soccer drills. Great for developing possession and glad you like it. Playing out the back is so key in modern football. Starting with the kids and youth players is vital.
Coaching Points dropping to compact space and defend the edge of the penalty area fullbacks taking up advanced positions to provide width centerbacks should be split wide when playing out from the back receive in an open body stance to see all possible passing options and not make play predictable speed of transition both attacking to defending shape and vice versa patience and not forcing play forward or down one side of the field quick ball circulation with limited touches when playing around the back buil diamonds and triangles in order to dominate and control possession overload in order to isolate and exploit poorly defended areas of the field patience in possession and good supporting angles from the defending unit when play cannot go forward distribution from the Goalkeeper. Use him as a sweeper Switch play in order to play away from pressure Tempo should be high with limited touch quick passing and movement distances and angles of support relative to the ball carrier
It’s probably not going to work with 10 year olds because they will just do this in their games, run around in their back half passing around with no intention to score. Then again if you made it they have to play to the midfielders after say 3 passes and then midfielders to score this would be better for that age group.Great one for over 13 maybe 👍
I used this drill today. Fantastic. Our u10's enjoyed it and U13's most importantly. Great job.
I'm about to use this with our U14 tomorrow. We worked on something similar yesterday and I think this is going to be a better option.

Interesting approach, thanks for sharing. Like the idea of giving them breaks to maintain the quality of pressing!
@@Professionalsoccercoaching Cheers, thanks for the reply. The session is very clear and I like the use of the zones.

Nice job listing these out:)
Coach, can the yellow team leave their own “ channel” when attacking? Or just defending?
To start with no. So they can develop ideas of spacing. The after a period you can start to let them drift into the central area.
question where the coach position is that ok?
You are free to wander:) I drift around to where I feel attention is needed or the section of the field I want to focus on.
how do I build up to this drill? What drills should I do first?
Basic rondos exercises would be advised. We have all these on the website if you check that out.
🤝
What camera/ video camera is used for training sessions?
We use many different cameras.
Playing out from the back ✌️⚽️ (I teach English football vocabulary on my channel)
What Softwear do you use ?
This is all custom filming software for our training drills.
Hallo i need this drill
The full sessions are on the main website with many others.

I would make that a progression to this session
Maybe have 2 small goals for them to score.
Yes, we've done this one with small gate goals also. If you've got the budget and pugg goals!
