If Edge is playing the D string, then he's picking the G, B and the D. You have to play the B & G string for sure. The 7th fret D is an A note. The G and B string on 5th fret are C and E notes. So all three make an A minor chord: A, C & E. They do work together. However, when I slow it down and play with it, I don't hear the A note. It works because it's within an Am chord phrase, but I hear the G and B only. Play each of the three notes alone with the clip and you will hear C & E tones.
Hey man - Your tutorial are excellent, I really dig the detail. I can't wait for the acoustic stuck since I'm in acoustic mode these days (ramping back up after a few years off to do kids) and for me, it's much better training). Can't wait to check out more of your stuff. Really appreciate it!
I can play that, it took me a while to get there with the open e tuning and the way edge plays the chords. I have to confess it is one of my favourites but I'm also a big fan of the slane version. Maybe one day you'll be tempted ;)
I think that Slane version starts in a slightly different way. I believe the D string is played with G instead of G and B, immediately after the slide. Slane is lower. I have no guitar with me now, but the notes are different, I believe.
I just tired it playing the D and G strings alone and it's definitely missing the B string (E note). I then played each note separately with the clip and you can hear how the G and B together create the right tone. You can definitely add the A note on the D string, but it's not in the clip. It also makes the riff a little harder to play.
Man, you're so helpful and kind.... please bear in mind I'm one follower of yours and with my band i ALWAYS duly execute your hints! In this case, however, I believe I can quite clearly hear the A note, which is missing in the rest of slane version. Ii sounds to me he slides to A (6th), keeps the full barre version of Amin and hammers with the small finger, hitting the notes you indicate including the A (4th string). I hope I could explain. Ciao and super thanks.
Great job with all of the videos, I've been watching for a long time and I've learned so much. One question though: Where do you find the clips from Edge's inner-ear monitor online?
I appreciate that this is a tutorial for one, but my question is are you going to post a tutorial for stuck in a moment, I know I'm not playing it quite right but I'm not far off but I suspect that you are the man that knows it, I have never heard anyone do a tutorial or cover that I think comes close to the way edge plays it.
If you don't mind my asking where do you find the in ear recordings of the edge playing if you're not going to do the "electric" version I could probably get it from something like that?
Thanks, I forgot to say thanks for all the tutorials, there is nothing better out there that I've found that's so accurate... keep it up!
great friend, I hope you continue with the same spirit, your classes are very good, live u2
You're right. I got that in the end. Thanks Mick.

I do plan to do a tutorial for Stuck at some point. But I will likely first do the acoustic version which is my favorite.

fantastic
Yes, will eventually get to it but it will be a long time. Lot of other songs I want to do first.

There are some website that have them. Just do a search on u2 IEM on Google. u2start is one website with some.

love it thanks!
Search U2 IEM on Google. There are a few sites with lots of IEMs.
Your Les Paul Custom is very FANTASTIC! :)
PS: When you will publish the effects stats?

I certainly could be wrong. Have been many times. I listened very carefully and tried it and it just didn't work for me.

Apologies but have never adjusted the guitar tuning for my playing, do you tune all six strings a semitone down to play this?
Your tutorial suks like a senigel, meaning too slow!
Thx! No, this is just a hobby.
