📚Yeah, so glad your first week was a success.🎉 Your optimism regarding new classes and students is delightful and contagious.🥳 Especially charming amidst freaky, terrifying weather and productive exhaustion/pain. Yes I can relate💜. I'm in Tacoma, WA. and ready for Autumn's changing landscape of color and textures here in the Pacific NW, just South of Seattle. Also enjoying warmer, soft cozy fabrics and layering. 🗓 Thank you for taking us along with you throughout your journeys. I would love to learn/hear more about your planners✒ in the future, tips, tricks and color coding etc. 💯

🎒📒📅 So glad you had a great day. Those can be overwhelming for me as a teacher, but it’s always a great surprise when students are engaged from day one. Hope you have a great semester ❤️

I was definitely exhausted afterwards but it went so well. I'm really excited to work with these students. Hope you have a good semester too!

Glad the beginning of fall semester is going well! Wasn't that storm wild? I live in Ahwatukee and we had thunder, strong winds, and heavy rain. Thank goodness you saw the dust storm coming and pulled off the freeway so you could get home safely. There's nothing scarier than trying to drive through a dust storm!

That storm was nuts! It's like AZ was trying to make up for the lack of a monsoon this year in one storm lol. And dust storm was really scary, not knowing how bad it was going to get. I was very happy once I got home and out of the chaos.

🎒📑📝Dust storms are no joke. We get them here in the midwest too. Glad to hear you're feeling good about your classes!

They really are scary when you get caught out in one.

I'm glad you're feeling so optimistic about the fall semester.
I am so tired. I am very over summer. Bring on fall!

Summer needs to be done. I'm so over this heat. It's going to be 114 later this week. I'm done lol.

I can totally relate to the start of the school year energy levels and being more tired after getting back into teaching. I work at a university in IT helping faculty with their courses and academic technology and I teach an online Intro to computer technology course.

Hope your year is off to a smooth start! If your uni is anything like mine, this is a busy time of year for the IT offices and academic tech people. :)

I also had that issue with discussion threads. Canvas rolled out an update recently that checked that box automatically for previously created discussions. It's definitely an annoyance. Any new discussion won't have it checked. Thanks for validating my annoyance.

Ugh, I've noticed a lot of changes with Canvas this semester. Glad to know I wasn't imagining that issue with the discussion threads. It's so annoying. I've also noticed the default for announcements seems to be to allow people to comment on them, so I have to remember to uncheck that. My uni switched to Canvas from Blackboard years ago, but I really don't feel like it's been any better.

I wish I could take us all away to a cozy cabin in the woods to just nap and read.

The tiredness is REAL! So glad the fall semester is going well and your new students are awesome. Fell off the radar a bit due to physical and mental stress but I'm finally caught up on all your vlogs 😅 Missed about 5 and liked every single one but only commented on this one 😊 But yeah, energy levels have been depleting more frequently these days, glad I'm not alone 😂

Hope you're doing well Avi! Take care of yourself. You're definitely not alone in feeling like you have low energy.

It's very diverse in its architecture. When it cools down I'll try to vlog more of it. There are some gorgeous buildings from the 1920s and 30s. And Old Main is from the 1880s I think. So very "new" by English standards lol, but it's still gorgeous.

Glad you had auch a good start to the semester! That storm was wild! I think living in the desert you are more than allowed to be excited by the rain! I have only ever been in one dust storm before and it was a baby compared to what you were describing size wise but it is so scary. Whether it was bc I was used to it or not I found it as bad as a total white out even though the roads weren't covered in ice the way they usually are in a whiteout. The colour of it seemed more scary (if that makes sense?!)
I have been SO tired this past couple weeks. I felt ready to collapse when coming home from the Dr tuesday. It had been a long day and on top of it it was 37° (supposedly felt like 41- but who even knows at that point!) All I know is that it is repulsive for this late in August!😂 I am really looking forward to fall and some cooler weather- I don't know how you manage in that Arizona heat; what we get here is bad enough! Hope this first week of classes went well and you have a nice long weekend! ❤

Our dust storms look like something from another planet lol, if you haven't seen any pictures you should google it. It's just as scary as a whiteout, the only reason a white out would be scarier is the addition of ice. But I hate driving in a dust storm, no one ever knows what to do and accidents are common.
Ugh, I can't believe it was so hot for you! It's finally September but it's still really hot here, going to be 43+ throughout this week. I'm really hoping it cools off soon, for both of us.
