Interesting! I think ND is more warm toned and the Alter Ego being more neutral HOWEVER, I am still learning what neutral means as I just got into eye shadows two years ago or so. So, I could be wrong.
I loved the eye looks! I agree that the difference is negligible! The ND shimmer is slightly more rosy. But you would have to be really up close.
Oh wow! The second look was so beautiful!! Thank you so much for showing the shimmers on your life! I was worried that the difference was not going to be noticeable but once you put them on your eyes, I saw the difference. The pewter one is my favorite.
I am going through my list to see which palettes I really want (my six month no buy taught me that waiting does dampen my enthusiasm) and I think this will be one of them! The ND I Need A Nude dropped during one of my no buys and I am glad I waited since I can get this one.

I’m actually about to compare CP Going Coconuts to I Need a Nude too. I feel like there are at least two shades that are the exact same. So I can’t wait to play with that and see!

9:08 in the palette... both sides oh my gosh.
Love ND but I don't need a nude palette as I have them and I have fair skin & most the light shades disappear on me tho sometimes I thought to buy it but too much money for few shades I'd use. I have the GLAM I love it and others. How many Nudes does one need? Saw this and knew quality often good. Longing for Fall, decided it's a cheap Fall fix and it'll be nice. But glad I did (hasn't come) and looking forward to it. Thanks for the helpful review.

I am not seeing a difference either. I think both achieve the same results! . I am glad to hear that the quality of the cardboard packaging is good too. This is a great way to get rid of FOMO and save your money.

I love these comparison videos. I own both ND and Alter Ego palettes and both have their place. The ones I know I’ll use a lot make it worth the splurge (or I’ll ask for as gifts that I very much appreciate) but for the color stories I’m less likely to reach for often I purchase the AE palettes when they run sales. I think I’m skipping this color story from both brands because I bought the Colourpop 11:11 palette this past winter when making a large order with Ulta points I saved up to maximize (that 1K level to get $125) knowing while not the same it is very similar to I Need A Nude. It’s not something I reach for often as I expected. If you have that CP palette I would appreciate knowing your thoughts about how it compares to both the ND and AE version.
FYI in that same order I purchased the Yucca palette- worth the points to me for the shimmers as that is a color story I gravitate towards- greens, yellows oranges, especially in the early fall season. Thanks again for the review.
Very good points here 👏🏼👏🏼 I agree about paying the more affordable price for either banal color stories or those you won’t get as much use out of. I don’t have 11:11; because, I have decluttered most of my Colour pop palettes and haven’t been enticed to buy one in a long time. I have seen that one swatched, though, and thought it looked like one of their better ones. 🤩 Wildwood kind of blew me away as the dupe of Yucca, and it’s still my favorite of Alter Ego’s so far. I would love to see them do a few of their own, too. Kind of like how dupe fragrance houses will also sell their own blends. That would be exciting🤩
I agree it would be good to see Alter Ego come up with their own palette ideas but I get why they don’t. Their money is going towards package design and a market they can count on because they know the color stories they dupe already have built in interest. Colourpop to me is a good starter brand- doesn’t cost a lot to find out what colors will flatter you or that you gravitate towards. My interest has died down a bit as I’ve branched out to other brands but I’ve kept most of my older ones and will pull them out to mix and match- love the magnetic pans that allow duping to get a feel for color combinations showing up in other palettes. They are basic but sometimes that is fine when you’re learning or don’t want to blow a budget. As time passes though I’ve also gotten pickier and have dialed way back on my purchases.

Love the color story but is it not flattering on me… I would love for them to dupe the OG UD Naked palette but making Buck a bit warmer as the OG OG not the re-release… it is cooler tone.

I have never really gotten the hype behind ND, CT, Huda, and some of the other high-end brands. I'm sure the makeup is fine, but the color stories all kind of seem the same after a while. Please know that this is not a dig at anyone who loves the brands, they just don't excite me personally.
Oh believe me! I have often said the same about CT for sure. I have zero interest to try anything. I do think Huda steps out now and again and ND with Yucca. A little with Xenon. Back in the day with Zendo and Circo Loco. I’m ready for her to do that again.
