Well, soja go soja come. Right now, there is a new Computer Village and more with limitless space called Obuaku City in Igboland waiting to be developed. It has an 8-lane motorway connecting it to both Aba and Port Harcourt. The railway line connecting it to Central and Northern Nigeria is just now being reconstructed. It has a port at Azumini river which empties into the Atlantic Ocean. Igbos are well aware of this project which was conceived in the 1970s by Sam Mbakwe et al. But they refuse to listen. Now that they have been pushed, how about a consortium of Igbo billionaires creating an alternative market there? Why not?
Yes, the same one. Everywhere there is a major river, there arises a city and Igboland can not be an exception. Azumini area is crying out for a huge settlement. Even during the period of military rule, the project was pursued with vigour until corrupt, traitorous Igbo politicians came in and wrecked it (see the inaugural speech by Cmdr. Temi Ejoor, the last military governor of Abia State). The often touted idea of that Igboland is small is bollocks because Western Europe which has over 15 countries and a population of 200 million people is smaller than Sudan or DR Congo in landmass. And even the Lagos they are fighting over is just half of Ebonyi State. Igbo people work very hard, but they are poorly led. In this day and age, you work smart instead. There is nothing smart about repeatedly building stuff where they are deliberately destroyed. I know it’s hard to justify. Computer village has been there for awhile now. The government shouldn’t have approve illegal buildings there in there in the first place. It’s part of the corruption in governance. Some officials are given land use license that are not genuine just their own gains. We talking about the development when we can’t even provide electricity. How can a country develop without electricity. Dangote is using stolen money from central bank to build the biggest refinery so that him and his political cronies can benefits from the profit instead of him investing in electricity. The world is moving forward a way from crude oil, but Nigeria still moving backwards.
POWA complex is a part of computer village. So it is wrong to say that Computer village has been demolished just to get views. People need to also know that the entire Computer village itself, would eventually move to a new location provided by Govt, cos the matter has been on since Governor Fashola regime, but it went ro court. That area of Ikeja is a residential area, turned into commercial and has disrupted that vicinity. Definitely it would move and the area regenerated by Govt.

Igbo people need their country, it's really that simple. Africa will see no peace until Biafra comes. The ports of Eastern Nigeria must be open so that Igbo people can come home and trade in their own regions.
I find Nigeria really interesting, especially since learning my DNA is nearly 60% Nigerian. What I don’t understand is why on all the videos I watch, you all are fighting each other due to ethnic/tribal origins. Nigeria will be a powerhouse when, it comes together as one. Just my opinion. Prayers for continued progress. By the way, I’m from America and feel Black folks throughout the world need to stop letting white folks keep us fighting one another.
Most times here, people of different ethnic groups like to twist facts to sooth their different propaganda narratives. And this is very unfortunate as it continues to cause strife and bad blood.
Do your research well there's nothing called Nigerian identity you're either Yoruba,Igbo,Hausa....stop confusing yourself, these are different ethnic nationalities British fused together for their selfish purposes.... know your true identity cos Nigeria will break soon
@@sholahide114 Exactly what white folks want, so I hope you’re wrong. Nigeria is a country, in which hopefully the majority are proud to be apart of, no matter the tribal ethnicity.
These buildings are owned by POWA and the traders are only tenants. I think the owner of a building does not need the permission of his tenants before he would be able to carry out demolition and reconstruction of his private property. He only needs to give notice to the tenants based on the terms and conditions of their contract. What is tribal about all of these and why always playing the victim?
Illegal structures are demolished all over South East all the time, without complaints, why do you complain in Lagos? See links below for demolished structures all over south East
I am Rivers man but the truth is that the Igbo’s are the most industrious and resilient black Tribe ever, they always bounce back stronger They are like the mongoose that loves eating snake, they are immune to risk, it does nothing to them
Please this should not be a time to lament, this is the greatest opportunity for the Igbos traders to relocate their businesses to Eastern Nigeria and create a new state of the art technology village where you will find anything like computers, laptops, mobile phones, smart devices and New innovative products. Reshape and reclaim the dominance by making Eastern Nigeria the Headquarters of everything technology. Everywhere else in Nigeria will be just subsidiary. Accelerate this format and line of thought.
Just look at the slum like place in the video.. Pls carry this kind of place to the east while Lagos develop to the 21st century city standard. What does an Igbo know about living in an organized society in the first place? Go back to the Bush(Igbo) you were being exported into by the British who have used you as an underdog for at least 3 centuries to attack the Oodua-Benin bond. Do you wonder why the whole of Igbo Land is not as large as Ibadan city? Also wonder why the greater igbo land Biafra failed? Go back to your history in the 18th century when you were exported to the tiny region you occupy in the east and leave those who want to develop to develop please. We are tired of teaching you everything!
What some ppl including yourself fail to understand is that people to go where market is where people are were opportunities are. Just like anywhere else in the word. You will not always get opportunities where you come from sometimes you have to travel. However, Hopefully the south seaports will be open soon because that is a major hinder to the development of the south. Unlike Lagos. So yes in a way it is an opportunity. They may also find. Better spot with a better building for the previous tenants which will be good.
Lagos is NOT the only city in Nigeria. You can relocate to Kano, Sokoto, Maiduguri, Jos, Enugu, Benin, Port Harcourt. Owners cannot even rebuild their space without some ethnic UA-cam channels running ugly stories
Computer village could be well organized. Nigeria must start doing things peoperly, it can't and must not be business as usual. Development must come. Japan, China where electronics are imported from, they are organized. I feel bad dor anyone who is inconvenienced in all of these.
Nigeria must start doing things properly only because u are from a tribe that is filled with wickedness and envy . So a government that came and prices of things only went five times higher instead of coming down is doing things right ? All the people liking this envious comment u posted here are all from ur tribe , a tribe that loves evil as if it is food . But u people must remember one thing Tinubu will never be there forever , even if he stays there for the next 20 years he must vacate there someday , so u people should ride on in ur envy , jealousy and wickedness .
We are organising SW states starting from Lagos for our future developments. All the slums in Makoko, Badiya, Ajegunle, Mushin and others would replaced soon. Rickety Igbos shops that is dotted everywhere in Lagos state would soon be demolished. It is about time Sanwoolu takes the state from these overzealous traders. No places should be spared including the central Lagos markets. Sanwoolu, we are solidly behind you. Lagos needs swift transformation and time to do it is now.
@MajorrBison Look at who is talking about organized. Envy is the driving force, not being organized. If Innoson had built his factory in Lagos, that would have been brought down as many attempts were made to retry his case in Ibadan so as to shut down his business. Many would be following his footsteps.
I don't know why Nigerians continue to abuse the sadness of fellow citizens there are demolition in other states of Nigeria like kanno, Abuja, Edo and some states in the eastern states are all this because of the Ibo businesses ? This is so sad but we should not always call it tribalism when we know that the people affected are not 100% from one tribe.
From economic standpoint, computer village should be located around Abule Egba or border areas between Lagos and Ogun states, where they can build a huge, modern shopping complex about 1 mile long. Government can generate revenue, traders can get yearly lease, shoppers can park their cars, shop, dine, etc.
Our people always think they can pay for anything. If truly they were given a notice then there is no need to cry. Our people normally like to complain over things they do wrong. If government give you notice heed to it and dont wait till it happened then you start complaining. In Igbo land, you will see our people who do not give space to the main road but set their buildings and walls very close to the road that you wont even see space for gutters and walkways when such roads are constructed. It is wrong but when government now wants to expand such roads these buildings will be demolitioned and our people will cry and talk about suffering and target. Everyhere cannot be market. There is a standard space you should leave for roads and road expansion when you are building your house close to main road but we will ignore them and act stupidily waitng for the day we will say we are being targetted. I watched interview they did to one igbo man who owns a house in part of the demolished places. He acknowledged that they were warned not to build there and they went ahead and build on these places. That is stupidity. You can survive this very government but what about the next government will you survive it with your bribe. No everyone will accept bribe and fail to make his state bettet. We need to learn and learn well. The Yorubas who sells these lands to our people already knew these days will come and these things will happen but our people dont make these enquiries. Really, development is a must in every societies of the world and computer village is a residential area which later turn to systems market so, we should try as much as possible to embrace this turnaround change. And also government should take the market to another place for development.
It is part of development plan. The victim concerned must have been well informed way in advance. Also compensation programme for those unfortunate to be affected will be served. This is government development project ongoing all over the world. Ensure you have a planning permission before building on any land in the future.

Great content. Sentiments aside... The New ALWAYS replace the Old. This has absolutely nothing to do with tribalism. Looking at the video, its hard to claim that all those small shops have planning permission to be there. And the owners of the land itself cannot produce any planning permission for those shops. Just look at the video, other buildings around the area are modern, and some of the older ones with shops are still there. The headlines says the "the computer village has been demolished". But as you can all see, a lot of the shops in the area are still there. If there are no violations or risk to human lives, demolition wouldn't have happened.

So why wouldn't the useless government do the needful before now
Some people like to party all weekend long while others like to do business seven days a week. It just happens that those in business even have their calendars in market days-inborn capitalism!
It is in the blood which elicits jealousy.

Igbo people need their country, it's really that simple. Africa will see no peace until Biafra comes. The ports of Eastern Nigeria must be open so that Igbo people can come home and trade in their own regions.
This might just be a beginning of the relocation of computer village.
That's exactly what I'm thinking.

This is huge demolition ms...wow
These buildings are owned by POWA and the traders are only tenants.
I think the owner of a building does not need the permission of his tenants before he would be able to carry out demolition and reconstruction of his private property. He only needs to give notice to the tenants based on the terms and conditions of their contract.
What is tribal about all of these and why always playing the victim?

Well said!

They would have moved to the east if they're sure there's market for their products there
What some ppl including yourself fail to understand is that people to go where market is where people are were opportunities are.

We are organising SW states starting from Lagos for our future developments. All the slums in Makoko, Badiya, Ajegunle, Mushin and others would replaced soon. Look at who is talking about organized.
