Rich is missing the point somewhat. There aren't just 4 guys. TNT's production crew is the fifth guy. All the gags, pranks, graphics - those are all from the production crew.
It's the greatest sports show of all time. Period. Breaks the barrier of race, age, political affiliation, and humor. All 4 of them should unanimously get into the Hall all together.

The product is greater than the sum of its parts. The RE team understands this, and more than most, that: A) you need the 3 C's to be successful. Content. Consistency, Charisma. B) There is so much going on behind the scenes that the viewers don't know about. I.e. producers on TNT in Earnie's ear saying let-em go or shut-em down at the right times. Just like a comedian knowing timing and where to draw the line. C) When you have/had lightning in a bottle, it cannot be replicated or copied/pasted/moved. Fans know where to get them, and what they're going to get. The false sense that we can buy the show and move it to our location has so many pitfalls, it will for sure fail. They are both friends and this is their locker room. They have loyalty to the friends and staff that pull the show together behind the scenes. I know this team will rebel against anything other than TNT. The NBA needs to understand that this show is partly responsible for the success of the NBA. If it aint broke, don't fix it!
Charles has already said he wouldn’t work for ESPN because they would have him on all their shows. EJ is too loyal to turner network and I don’t see him leaving.

The best thing about NBA playoffs is to be able to watch these 4 guys on TNT talking about it on a nightly basis. Heck most of the time I don’t even watch the actual games but their highlights only
NBA on NBC back in the 90s with Bob Costas and Ahmad Rashad was legendary. That intro theme for NBA on NBC is the best intro sound for NBA ever. Having said that, TNT needs to figure it out to keep the NBA somehow.
It would be a terrible mistake to separate that crew. It is a mistake that they don't have the Finals, but we can live with that. Them having to be in a podcast or whatever? That's stupid.
The day Barkley retires from that show will be no different than when Johnny Carson retired. Late night was never the same after Carson retired and the TNT NBA show will never be the same when Barkley retires.
I stopped watching NBA games 8 years ago but I still tuned in just to watch those guys. Now I just see clips of them on UA-cam. It would be sad to see them part ways.

First, would they even want to work for a new company? EJ may want to stick with TNT Sports, given that he’s the face of that network. Chuck’s talked about retirement. Shaq’s loaded, and he doesn’t need to do TV. Second, even if all 4 guys would be willing to move to a new network together, never underestimate the stupidity and arrogance of TV executives.
You’re making the same mistake. Understand that if the NBA goes to Peacock, it’s not going to be the same NBA on NBC. Sure, they can bring back the theme song. But the personalities that made NBA on NBC amazing are all retired. You aren’t getting Marv Albert, Ahmad Rashad, Mike Fratello, etc. Also we didn’t have to pay extra for NBC. Now NBC is trying to get people to subscribe to Peacock, whose growth has basically stalled (the real reason why they’re going after sports rights). So NBC has to be very careful here.

People forget the NBA on NBC was huge with Ahmad Rashad and Bob Costas. Heck, the NBA on NBC theme song still represents the NBA more than any othet piece of music. Inside the NBA is the best sport show on TV, but the NBA can survive without that show. I'll be sad when it does end though.

Oh, please! I don't want ESPN to get its hands on the show due to greed by the owners. The program's a national treasure for & ambassador of the sport in part because of the humor displayed by that quartet.
I lost interest in the NBA 10 years ago. But if my kids (are home from college) and they have TNT on, I'm not changing the station. Those guys are so solid. Shaq, Kenny, Chuck, and Ernie. Best ever.
These media companies are so shortsighted. It's about to be harder than it already is to watch the games you want to watch unless you pay hundreds for every streaming platform and cable package. So instead I'll either watch pirated streams or not watch at all. But these media services, most of them with absolute trash service and quality won't give a damn about the sport and the fans.
I think that if NBC steals NBA package from Turner Sports, NBC should rotate airing the NBA Finals with ABC/ESPN. Similar to the Super Bowl being rotated between CBS, Fox, & NBC and (more recently) the Stanley Cup Finals rotating between ABC/ESPN and Turner Sports.
The problem is not everyone in America has access to WiFi. In Louisiana it's like 30% do not have access. So I stream on hotspot which isn't always great. Amazon particularly

Someone mentioned Amazon to me for the nba I would hope they’d stay together for Amazon. If TNT loses the broadcast rights to the NBA. ESPN should hire all 4 keep, Inside the NBA team intact, that includes producers staff, everybody, and get rid of the NBA Countdown crew especially Kendrick Perkins and Malika Andrews. NBC, and or Amazon should do the same hire EJ, Kenny, Charles & Shaq outright.

Currently I have to leave my home to watch NBA. I refuse to pay for it. Luckily, the HOA Clubhouse pays the cable so I don’t have far to go. I remember watching my Knicks on WOR Channel 9 for free. Met games same. Yankees on WPIX Channel 11 free. How can they suck more out of us? Greed man.
i get highest bidder and all. but sometimes you lose money by taking the highest bidder. losing nba on tnt will be a hit to viewership and maybe a long-term bad move. they generate fandom. i may not watch the games, but i can watch their postgame show all day.
Amazon used the entire Showtime Boxing broadcast, crew, behind the scenes workers, booth for their PBC boxing on Amazon. They would be stupid to try and re-invent the wheel and they wouldn’t. They would even let Earnie stay at TNT.
It broke my heart when the NBA left NBC in 2002 so now that its possible that the NBA ON NBC will return i don't feel sorry at all for TNT or Inside the NBA because nobody from TNT or ESPN had sympathy for NBC back then so now its their turn.

Espn stopped having a pre-game and half time show years ago. TNT has kept it consistent with people actually talking about the game

The name of the show says all you need to know. Inside the NBA. ESPN/ABC has yet to replicate what TNT has done and now you want to lose your Shinning Star. Will not watch the NBA as much without tbis piece of the pie

I think Fox Sports will take away the NBA package from ESPN and ABC after the 2024-25 season, but TNT will retain its rights to the NBA package.
Most people don't want to see Inside the NBA disbanded, but most people didn't want NBA on NBC and Roundball Rock to go away. It'll be sad and very unfortunate, but we've been here before, and life along with basketball goes on

If the TNT crew dissolves, I'm definitely not watching anything related to the NBA. That would be a dumb move.
Currently I have to leave my home to watch NBA. I refuse to pay for it. Luckily, the HOA Clubhouse pays the cable so I don’t have far to go. I remember watching my Knicks on WOR Channel 9 for free. Met games same. Yankees on WPIX Channel 11 free. How can they suck more out of us? Greed man.
Whoever or whichever company breaks those 4 will be forever hated by NBA fans. We will never forget.
They should bring all 4 back under the "Open Court" show. Not talk directly about games and show highlights but maybe have more of a EJ Steamroom vibe
i get highest bidder and all. but sometimes you lose money by taking the highest bidder. losing nba on tnt will be a hit to viewership and maybe a long-term bad move. they generate fandom. i may not watch the games, but i can watch their postgame show all day.
Amazon used the entire Showtime Boxing broadcast, crew, behind the scenes workers, booth for their PBC boxing on Amazon. They would be stupid to try and re-invent the wheel and they wouldn’t. They would even let Earnie stay at TNT.
I wish they could somehow bamd together and make them all a package deal.
It broke my heart when the NBA left NBC in 2002 so now that its possible that the NBA ON NBC will return i don't feel sorry at all for TNT or Inside the NBA because nobody from TNT or ESPN had sympathy for NBC back then so now its their turn.
