HOW TO FIX Limp Starter Cord On A Honda Snowblower

- Here are 2 ways to fix a limp starter cord on a Honda snow blower. This will also work on any recoil starter on a small engine
1. lubricating the spring is usually the easiest and the most common issue and most times that is all you need to do.
2. If still limp after lubricating then you can use the method shown in this video of putting cord in slot and turn the wheel all the way around to tighten cord. I did it both directions to show you that you can loosen it one way and tighten the other way.
3. If still limp after using both methods and there is no snap back at all you may have a bad spring ( did not show in video ) and you may need to replace the recoil starter.
I suggest buying a good used one from a shop. Trying to replace the spring is a PITA and I never do it. I just replace the whole recoil.
I have tried aftermarket recoil starters and most are flimsy junk so suggest you use a genuine OEM Honda recoil
