Roque de Los Muchatos :-) done it a few times. The San Andres viewpoint on the ridge of the caldera at 2300m is stunning. Rideing arround the north is just as much climbing even though the nothern main road never exceeds 1200m as you will be going up & down 200m very often. Stunning island for unloaded bike riding - regardless if of MTB or on roadbike. But it IS the hardest cycling terrain anywhere in europe. PS. Teh vulcano vent that errrupted in 71 is on the far south and it was a small erruption, the vulcano is named Cumbre Vejra and it has errupted several times each century for the past 500y. Cumbre Vejra is the noth/south ridge that extends south of the Caldera - The Caldera has not errupted for a few million years. Cumbre Vejra is presently overdue for an erruption. Last big erruption was in 1948.
Great story of the island guys , noticed your getting even better with your drone shots Tristan two of you now in the vid when climbing and descending. . Loving how you catch the landscape and the mountains.... 👍🍺🍺
great series, thanks, i've ridden three of the islands so want to tick the rest off. About to move to La Palma so will get the chance. Have gone a couple of times up to the Roque de los Muchachos - was hard on an unloaded road bike so well done!
Hi Tristan/Belen, very nice vid of la isla bonita! My favorite island. However that vulcano you went up and over is actually an erosion crater 3 million yrs old. The last eruption in 1971 is all the way in the south, look up ‘VOLCAN TENEGUIA LA PALMA OCTUBRE 1971’ or ‘VOLCAN TENEGUÍA- Viaje a La Palma.flv’ here on UA-cam. The village Fuencaliente is situated above the volcano, thus the people were looking down at it from their balcony, the eruption lasted a whole month, on present aerial pics of the south of the island you can clearly see the solidified lava stream going into the sea. Wonderful series! You mentioned knee pain. I’ve noticed even recently that your girlfriends seat height is high, she points her toes on the pedal push. This could be a solution . Cheers
Thanks for the Canary Island video series, very interesting and totally worth watching. Is it expensive to travel to the different islands by ferry bringing a bicycle along?
I love this. My husband and I cycled the Northern Spanish coast last year. I am wondering where do you get the permit to camp outside on these lovely stops.. ?
Wow!! And that you keep so positive, I probably would be crying ;). A big reward though. I cycled there with an e-bike. No comparison. But I know how crazy steep it is over there, so well done!! Great you still had some energy left to film this for us.
Not yet! One day we’ll return to create proper GPX tracks. I’m guessing the Canary Islands tourism board website can help you find rental bikes for sure, and if not, the major bike shops in Gran Canaria and Tenerife should have them.
The best island of canary islands for enduro and downhill riding! I just love this island!

Thanks for all the info! I agree, it’s absolutely stunning for riding. We’ll come back with an e-bike some day!

Wat is je favoriete eiland? Beste wegen, weer, landschap, historische stadjes etc?

Is there a recorded route?
Maybe you know where to rent a bike on the island?

Which of the Islands would you say is the safest and easiest to cycle?
They’re all safe! But the easiest is definitely Lanzarote.
@@tristanbogaard Great, thank you
eight, la Graciosa
(now yes, but not when we cycled there)
Gast…
Fantastisch eiland. Maar inderdaad beter geschikt voor wandelaars…
