Wide angle lenses (lower focal length) can still be great for photos as well where you want to show off more of a environment or full body depending on the circumstances. Higher focal lengths are typically used for portraits. Higher focal lengths from a distance (ie a Long Shot) can be very complimentary too. Lower focal lengths lenses for close ups typically off a abstract/comedic look… ie old school missy elliot or Busta rhymes videos.

Anyway, I bought my own Canon camera with an additional 55-250mm lens so I can have friends take photos of me. My photographer did me dirty for real 😤
This give me confidence Bcs sometimes I even look good in my Android low quality camera (probably 6-8mm), and imagining how fucking good I'll look in 80mm camera
That how u look in real life the eye sees at around 50 mm so he’s right anything lower will create a distortion in your pictures your body will look wider and fatter less proportionate and your facial features will look flat and out of place. I’m 6ft 5 and Paiutes taken with wide angle lense make me look like 5ft 8 cause their not designed for portrait shoot

Buy used gear from a reputable dealer. Adorama, KEH, BH Photo. They all have great prices. All you need is something like a older Canon Rebel t3i. It's the lens that makes the most difference. Not the body.
