I'm actually not exactly agreeing with the "E FOR EVERYONE" statement, because I'm almost 38 and even i had quite a bit to say. The reignited trilogy was so frustrating that by the time i completed spyro 1 i had already repeated every word in the forbidden dictionary so many times that even BLACK Beard wanted to wash my mouth out.
EDIT: The point here is that if that game could have a grown man wanting to go on a killing spree, imagine how a kid would feel.

In spyro 3 there's a level where Moneybags use a "magical formula" to open a door... if you think about retalking to him just after that, he will admit the button to command the door was just behind him.

evan Lisnek Dragon eggs get stolen so you go off to get them back from an evil sorceress, her apprentice and an evil army of rhino like creatures called rhinocs, with the help of sgt. bird, sheila, agent 9 and a yeti. You find money bags along the way and helps you (for a price). In the final hub world he finds a dragon egg and plans on selling it to the sorceress so you beat the shit out of him and get all the gems you paid him as well as the egg.

If an Amazon subsidiary wants to do something interesting with Skylanders, then they are screwed. Spyro had a lot of interesting aspects, with the interesting behavior of enemies, fast running and flying sections, and 1/3 of the Police.

I'll give you one fantastic reason to hate Skylanders right now. It's marketing strategy inspired Disney Infinite. So thanks to that "game", the first game where you can play as any disney licensed character you can think of (regardless of the game's quality) is potentially in upwards of a 1000 dollar investment.

Moneybags was one of my first introductions to capitalism.
Most of the time Moneybags has about as much to do with Capitalism as a hood ornament does in determining the direction of a car. The guy locks people in cages and them charges Spyro to get them out. He as far more in common with a police officer/court system or some other government agent. About the only time he actually engaged in free-market transactions was when he offered to teach Spyro new abilities in exchange for gems.
Moneybags is supposed to be a stereotype of wealthy upper-class people, esp. around the 18th and 19th century.

So this is where modern game developers got the idea of pay-gating everything with "gems" 0o
I remember just wanting to murder that extorting bear thing. Actual pay-to-progress gaming wasn't a thing back then, so I suppose that means that the spyro devs are more amazing than I thought: They actually managed to look into the future, and add social commentary to their games that wouldn't be relevant before several years later ^^
The sad thing is, the only real "point" of Moneybags in the old Spyro Games was to give the player more reason to play through different levels instead of just arbitrarily going to the boss, compared to the first game where the treasure served no real purpose other than completion.

Man, I remember feeling like this. Every time you need to advance that greedy douche came out of a corner and was like "For a measly [x] amount of gems..."
I also remember beating the crap out of him and getting all of my gems back at the end of one game. One other most satisfying things i ever did in a video game.
