I got 3 suggestions for reacting to GoT (pardon the TL:DR) : 1) You'll need commitment : Fair warning, this is gonna be a really painful slowburn (which also I guess, is the enigma of the show). There isn't too much instant gratification, not too many 'punch in the air' climax moments. If you're not into historical fiction, political drama (think medieval House of Cards) & don't have the attention span for long-term storytelling, then this probably ain't the show. 2) Try not to binge : The scope & ambition of this story is huge. You're dealing with multiple kingdoms, many families, hundreds of characters, with a ton of backstories, all woven into a rich narrative. So it's best to digest it slowly. I know people who ran through the entire show & missed 60% of the underlying things. There's a shit ton of metaphors, hints, callbacks, all that symbolism stuff. A big part of the GoT experience is speculating on & trying to connect the dots. So give it a little time between each episode or you'll forget who's related to who & who did what. 3) Moderate your expectation: You're probably aware that most people hated how the show ended. There's a lot of controversy over the last few seasons & you're gonna get those comments discouraging you from watching. My opinion is simple: watch it yourself & form your own opinion. It's the journey that counts. The GoT fandom can sometimes be pretty obnoxious & there's a lot of book purists who'll watch just to nitpick & criticize everything. While a certain understanding of the background stuff is necessary & comments are helpful for that, don't get too much into this wormhole of comments about the past, the backstories, the theories, debates on the book arcs, etc. You're meant to find those out yourself as the story unfolds or it'll ruin the fun of watching the show.
Another suggestion, try to have the show volume and reaction mic volume the same level. The reaction mic is either really loud or the show volume is really low. Have fun!
It is not only direwolves become very large and therefore grow pretty fast in comparison to normal wolves/dogs, but also quite some time passed over the first 1-2 episodes and will throughout the first season! GRRM is notoriously bad at planning ages, as well as dimensions and amounts. He wrote the ages planning for a time skip in later books that he didn't make happen. I think the show ages are more realistic (for people to become warriors, parents, leaders, etc).
Yesss episode 2 and with your gf i'm so excited for both your reactions to the rest of the show! I really hope you don't get any spoilers and i'm really glad you're understanding and picking up on stuff already
You may not realize that Sansa did the right thing. Ned is now Hand of the King, and if his daughter were to "testify" about Joffrey's horrible behavior, that could well put the king at odds with Ned. And it might even have put Ned and Arya in danger. If anyone should be blamed for the death of the wolf, it was Cersei. The king was being reasonable about the whole matter, but Cersei wanted vengeance for someone hurting her son. If Sansa told the real truth, who's throat do you imagine she would have cut then?
The people of the GoT world think of dragons in the same way we think of dinosaurs: they have the bones, so they know they existed at some point, but they're long extinct. Similarly, most think of White Walkers and wights the way we think of vampires and zombies: just scary fiction and nothing more.
It is going to be so much fun watching you BOTH react to the legend GOT. 😁 Welcome to the Family of Fans! Lol. BTW, the Dire Wolf was a real animal up until the last ice age ~10,000 years ago. They say they lived on Earth for over 1 million years!! And their reason for extinction is still unknown. They are not actually as big as a horse I guess but they were still fearsome creatures able to survive alongside Sabertooth Tigers! With teeth that could crush bones and a jaw with 1,900 pounds of pressure per every square inch! Very interesting to research!! *Everyone please remember if you're tempted to "have one of your own," it's your responsibility to be as honorable, honest, loyal and practical as the Starks of Winterfell. Dire wolf "lookalike" breeds like Huskies, Inuit mix, Malamutes are high-maintenance with very particular physical, environmental and emotional needs. Be Real with yourself and find out if their ideal lifestyle can mesh with your own. Please be respectful to all living creatures. 💖🐺💗 "Having possession over something... doesn't mean you are Worthy of such possession..." ~ something I feel Ned Stark would say.. 😋 ☮
Something I appreciate about this episode is the look that Arya has set upon Cersei after she gives the order to have Lady killed instead of Nymeria. Sansa is crying and cowering while Arya looks like she wants to KILL Cersei right then and there. The dynamics between the Stark children are very well written. Jon foils Rob very well as Sansa foils Arya.

A little bit of acting that is never mentioned but I love is how Sean Bean portrayed his own disgust of having to kill Lady. He seems sick to the point of vomitting.
Happy to see the number of subscribers is getting back to where it once was. And great editing as always. Excited for this adventure!
Joffrey played a little child in Batman Begins who Batman gave a Batarang to.
Sansa didn't say anything because she wants to be a princess and then a queen someday so she cannot betray Joffrey even for her own sister.
I’m surprised you haven’t mentioned that the actor that plays Ned Stark played Boromir in Lord of the Rings. I hope you start reacting to at least 2 episodes per week. You might want to try the tv show Timeless. It was only 2 seasons and I’m sure you’ll enjoy it
I can’t wait for some parts to come full circle
this was the best show on tv hands down
So glad you’re watching it together, excited for it
fun fact
Daenerys in the books is actually 13 years old
GRRM is notoriously bad at planning ages, as well as dimensions and amounts. He wrote the ages planning for a time skip in later books that he didn't make happen. I think the show ages are more realistic (for people to become warriors, parents, leaders, etc).
rewatching this is making me pick up on so many things i missed the first time lol
Oh, my sweet summer children. This is just the beginning of your anger.
Welcome to the club.
You’re gonna hate/love it equally.
Just wait!
9:30 Haha he gets his wolf pay-off already fuck yeah man! I like how hyped you are for the wolves.
YES Direwolves get to be as large as horses...fkn HUGE
Dang, I finished this show last year. It's crazy that this was only the second episode, and so much was already popping off.
This episode, man. It's a big fantasy show, but the human drama/behavior is on point.
I’m so excited to re-watch this series with y’all, it gets SO fucking crazy 💀
Just wait until season two, when you get even more new characters introduced into the show
this comment has no purpose at all.. its not really a spoiler, but not something they would want to know either. no offence
Waiting for this all week, love that you’re reacting to this
16:00 Man that ending scene killed me with the wolf when I watched it.
Yesss episode 2 and with your gf i'm so excited for both your reactions to the rest of the show! I really hope you don't get any spoilers and i'm really glad you're understanding and picking up on stuff already
seriously first 6 seasons were better and above than breaking bad it was sooo good many people fight with eachother because of spoiler
Oh my fucking god it’s insane to think that you have no idea what’s going to happen, you guys are in for something truly special, enjoy!!
17:10 Yeah I loved that scene and like you said I bet it meant alot to John.
"Having possession over something... doesn't mean you are Worthy of such possession..."
~ something I feel Ned Stark would say.. 😋 ☮
they're direwolves they grow faster and are much larger than than regular wolves.
9:48 they were never wolves thats what everyone says but its wrong
Maybe to help to remember character's names make a family tree with the houses.
I am so excited to watch you guys watch this!!! You’re so into it already!!
8:24 Power is power
I'll say this again just in case. Look up a map mate. It will be helpful :)
It’s exactly why we don’t ever skip the main title either. Other than it being the best opener ever
@@17cjavy Absolutely correct
my favorites were for sure Ned, Jon and Tyrion they are really cool :)
You are gonna love the show, and you are gonna thank yourself for those notes. They will come in handy ;) Enjoy the ride bud!
i'm so happy she's here!! hopefully both of u guys continue to react the show together 😊😊💛
