In August 2024 I went LIVE from the drawing board, working on a portrait sketch o fay buddy Wayne. Tune in and let’s geek out about art together!
Every stroke is powerful, portraying the wrinkles on the elderly's face, the texture of their beard, and the texture of their skin in a very realistic way. The traces of time reflected in the beard make people feel the richness and depth of the painter's inner world.
This was so much fun and inspirational to watch! Your videos have really helped me to get out of the art block. Can’t wait to try out the academy! 😊
see you next time Andrew !!! I realy enjoyed your way of drawing !!!
Proof that you are not one demential.. such a talent.
I just barely missed the live, but caught up quickly. I'm mainly a landscape artist, but I am always looking to explore new avenues. The 100 head challenge is inspired. I have long winters where I live, so I'm definitely going to take this challenge. As well as expand it to animals and landscape. You're a true inspiration. And I absolutely love your work 😊
These portraits look fantastic
Thank You!!
Hi Andrew ! ❤ I love you beautiful paintings . I m alwais happy when you show something New . Greetings from Hungary ! 🙂
Hi from North Island NZ. Thanks, loved this demo.
Always inspiring!
Hi andrew, its really good now that you are doing live streams nowadays.
Its really a great leaening experience.
However a hand and a leg tutorial would be awesome
Wyoming here
Recently i get Rosemary & Co brushes too, as like you, are excelent !
@@MrSilva960 What do you enjoy most about these particular brushes especially compared with Grumbacher?
@@latriciaparsons9344 because there`s a few brushes that I like especifically for a certain kind of brushstroke, Egbert and Swordliners brush are amazing
Yup
I wonder if your glove ever gets too saturated with graphite? Do you have a clean set and just swap it out mid drawing? You’re the best bro!
It does! I do! 😂
I missed this. Im always drawing and mostly these days in graphite landscapes in plain air. Im always sketching my people around me as they too are my subjects. Hopefully I'll catch your drawing session next time. Always looking forward to your work.
You're the man brother!
All good
I’ve missed your regular postings, but I’m here now from Toronto Canada ❤️
Hey Bud 😊
Can you do one of a landscape?
I vote yes...I'd love to see some landscape drawing videos/livestreams as well as the portrait videos.
Loved this. Thank you!
What were the erasers you were using? Thanks
Thankyou Andrew looking awesome 👌
Hi from West Australia
Awesome
Yea. Art is unlimited. That is quest. I am krishna from kuwait
Ohh I missed the live stream. 😢 Do you have separate containers for different Graphite grades ? Or you put everything in one single container ? (I prefer separating my graphites.)
I put all the graphite in the same container, perhaps you're not meant to do this, but hey, it works for me!
Master, I want to acquire your teachings. How can I be admitted?
Hi Andrew ❤, I just love the techniques you describe, but when I try it's very difficult....
❤️🙏🏼❤️🇩🇪
Hi cook islands!!! Hello from Wyoming USA!
Thank you🤗
How do you handle the shine of graphite?
It's something you'll get accustomed to over time. If the shine becomes too distracting, you might want to try a Mars Lumograph Black pencil for a less reflective finish. If that doesn't work for you, charcoal is another great option. That said, I personally enjoy the shine of graphite-it can add a beautiful effect depending on how the light hits it!
If you need help with embedding the image in the live stream, let me know. I use Ecamm all the time for teaching drawing/painting.
👍🏻
Hi, from North Carolina, USA
Thanks From Canada Windsor
Nnn. So glad I found your video!!
Brilliant Work I draw a lot of Pixel Art, Going to Draw a pencil Sketch.
Bonjour from Louisiana
Hi there from the Cook Islands
all is good. sound and video
Great video. You did a great job describing how the head was constructed. Then (as many instructors do) give no insight on how to place the first facial feature. Here you arbitrarily place the nose (width) with no explanation on how that was determined. Granted you are experienced enough to make that judgement but a beginner is not. From there all other features (eyes, mouth width etc.) are determined. If that nose width was incorrect with relationship the the width of the head the whole drawing would be off. Again great demo, I learned a lot. I am not trying to criticize, just something I struggle with. Thank you.
Use one of many equations. Split head in thirds and draw a centre line, if front facing. Then you have brow line and bottom of nose, plus the centre which is where the nose goes.
@@LogosRisen Thanks very much for the reply. I was more concerned about the width of the nose as that determined the eye width. any advice on that?
Forgive me, not trying to make an excuse but with all the tech and talking while I'm drawing, and doing that all live, I may have missed stuff. I apologise. I'll do better on the next one. I do cover this material and more in my full tutorials on my website: tischler.nz/portrait-painting-workshop/ and on my Academy, where we're doing a full portrait course - Coming soon! tisch.academy
In the meantime, after I find the thirds, normally I eyeball the wide to the nasal bridge and how it exits the face, depending on the angle we're viewing the head from.
Janet here, we hear you.
I can t ad anything on the right site of the screen into the live comments !!! Am I doing something wrong ???? sorry to disturb you with this stupid question !!!
