Runs cooler so longer battery life cycle. Very nice. And lighter than the heavier high amp batteries

I got a text from Ryobi marketing afew days ago, about these new batteries, but it was the same advertising from earlier this year. I wonder if they will delay releasing the new Edge batteries, because in about 1 more week summer will be almost over as August is days away. When they say "Coming in summer 2024" means summer 2024, not Fall 2024.... Come on Ryobi !!!

Their older stuff...like twenty years ago, all brushed motors & originally Nicad batteries were blue.
Ryobi has to come up with 18v 6 port Simultaneous fast charger… I made 2 sets of 6 chargers work really good for emergency and camping stuff but bulky to carry around
Don't hold your breath, it'd be very expensive & doesn't exist even among the top brands.
The sequential chargers are really just one charger & a series of terminals.
To have six consecutive chargers, and additional heat sinking & extra fans would put them north of $500 in my estimation.
It will probably take forever to get to a store in our opinion

I Got One, but at that time they were on sale with a bonus 4 AH battery at Father's Day wknd.

It's best to buy RYOBI on RYOBI Days, Father's Day, Black Fridays, Christmas. RYOBI stacks up deals for the end of the yr cleaning out the warehouse for anything that is not sold.
Right now, it sells for $279. for 1 - 12 AH battery.
But I paid $239. for mine & got the bonus also.
I know I got it at the cheapest price because I watch RYOBI all yr messaging my people when to go get what they are looking for.
I now have over 50 RYOBI tools inc fans, camping lights, flashlights, heater, vacuum cleaners, a Inverter & over 40 - 18 volt batteries.
I've always thought that GOD introduced me to RYOBI 20 yrs ago.
I'm Not disappointed or displeased at all - moreso we're Satisfied with RYOBI
But I'm one who Stays In PRAYER 🙏 & HE shows me the right way to go 0:54

21,700 cells??
How much better are these with the tools that like to chew threw batteries? For example the brushed belt sander mows throw batteries MUCH faster than I can charge them, will this battery last longer on that tool? I love my belt sander, it just loves to drain the batteries quick!
It'll last about the same time as a regular 8ah battery would last now in it.

I think they're waiting to release them, also the twelve would likely fall outside their target audience & pricepoint.
Milwaukee Forge 6ah are currently 199...even at a discount I'd imagine Ryobi would have a very difficult time selling 18v batteries much past 200.
You just know they're going to overprice this

If it has a lifetime guarantee like Ridgid, I'll buy them. Otherwise, no. I've already had 4 Ryobi batteries die on me, won't recharge. Planned obsolescence.
Last Time I Called RYOBI About my Dead Battery, they ask me for the # on the back of the battery which is 4 yrs old. I told em, they sent me a replacement. Then I watch UA-cam videos telling me how to Restore it. There's like 5 different ways to Restore em, so far I've tried 3 & it's not working. I'll try the other 2 ways when I get a chance.

All that is is a money scheme. I guarantee my 6ah hp battery can do the same. Tool companies do this over and over. They slap a new name on a tool and say this is better but when tested it not that better
I've Seen That With Lots Of Things, but so far that I see is RYOBI has been 98.999% accurate.
Every time I see their advertisements when I buy, I test it over over over again & some times I write it down so I have a book with the test results. The 12 AH battery does do as they say. Now I own over 40 different batteries, one dating back to 2008, 2015-22.
I jus brought 8 more but on sale only with bonus batteries. Black Friday, Father's Day, RYOBI Days & Christmas only is when we buy batteries.

@missionscrapprwill7530 this year was ryobi disappointment. I have a good feeling that a 6ah hp battery can perform just as well as these new edge batteries
6ah's get way too hot, overheat, and shut down, they don't have any cooling until 8ah and 12ah.
@chancepaladin you must run them ragged because ive never had a issue yet
