Chinese mini excavator dozer blade- Front or behind?

The comments on UA-cam and Facebook about blade placement are insane. Some say to put the blade behind you and some say always in front of you. I was told many times to try digging with the blade behind me while digging hard ground and I really didn't understand it until I tried it. This video isn't a very good example of the difference it can make. I did notice right away how having the blade behind you helps with hard ground as almost all the weight of the machine is putting pressure on the end of the bucket. After a certain depth, the effectiveness of that technique falls out and you have to flip the blade back to the front of you. The only complaint I have about having the blade behind is that the hydraulic lines and fittings on the drive motor are exposed and you fling dirt and rocks right at it. Until I get a protective cover installed, I am not using the blade behind. People will argue about this all day. At the end of the day, if you bought it, it's yours, and you're working on your own projects, you can do whatever you want.
