Also know as "The Year With The Extreme Closeups." I do agree with you that Spain, Netherlands and Germany deserved much higher places. Although, In my opinion Udo's entry this year was his best on his three entries. France Gall was the worthy winner. It's just a shame what happened to her the years after she won.
18- I don't know was it very outdated back in 1965, but I agree what you said there, that wasn't interesting anymore 17- Okay debut from Ireland, it's very slow too 16- Once again, great Italian entry and in my 2nd place also 15- I like sometimes French entries very much, not this time though, I don't dislike it, but not very good 14- Good entry, prefer her 1969 entry(which is also my winner) 13- Undeserved 0 points here 12- imo this is the weakest of Udo Jürgens's songs 11- Yeah...good, but it don't see as a 2nd place worthy song...even if how close were UK to the win these 15 competitions 10- Slow , okay, used to these ballads as these very much are close to the Soviet Estonian-typish 9- Good 8- Sweet sweet entry from them 7- This is even sweeter- I like it though 6- I guess many disliked it because Sweden were able to sing in English that year(not in a home language)- I'm not complaining about anything, but I prefer in Swedish language, opera is a special genre imo 5- Amazing, that same woman who sang THAT song(btw my winner in 1961) I love both entries, because they have that "crazy", that package: the voice, the dance moves, the catchyness...this year it's only my 3rd, but I still can't decide between top 3. PS: STILL ASHAMED THIS BECAME LAST WITH 0 POINTS 4- I usually like Denmark's entries, but imo this is extremely dull and no connection to the entry whatsoever 3- Another catchy and interesting entry from Dutch 2- This has to be my nr 1, not because it's just a winner, this is a DESERVED winner, a masterpiece, legendary French song which lives still to this time, very memorable 1- Nothing very special, but that didn't deserve to be a nul-pointer, like every country who got 0 points in this year didnõt deserve to get that IN CONCLUSION: Good year from 60s, not awesome, but just good
Hey, I'm from Germany and I would never have thought that you would choose "Paradies, wo bist du?" as your first place. But it makes me very happy! 😊 Poor Ulla had big problems with her career as a singer after the bad results of the contest. She worked as a backing singer most times, only a few times she could perform as a solo singer but she never had a big career. I wonder if in case she had got a better result she would be more popular today. Her voice was amazing I think. A shame that she didn't get any points this evening.
Oh no Germany, that is the one of german entries ever My favorites 1965 18th Sweden, 17th Germany, 16th Danmark, 15th Belgium ,14th Portugal, 13th Monaco, 12th Spain, 11th France, 10th Norway, 9th Switzerland, 8th Finland 7th The Netherlands, 6th UK, 5th Ireland, 4th Yugoslavia, 3rd Italy, 2nd Austria and 1st Luxembourg
Yep. 1965 was the year, when the contest finally properly arrived in the 60ies. Ulla's song was incredible and probably still too modern. Only a year or two later, she would have scored better. The arrangement is brilliant and the lyrics very different and not very upbeat.
My top 18: 18) Switzerland 17) Italy 16) France 15) Sweden 14) Austria 13) Denmark 12) Luxembourg 11) Ireland 10) Monaco 9) Belgium 8) Portugal 7) Germany 6) Netherlands 5) Yugoslavia 4) Norway 3) Spain 2) United Kingdom 1) Finland
Amazing that you do not like that much ”N’avoue jamais” by Guy Mardel. This track is an evergreen in France and in all french speaking countries as Switzerland. Still a big hit in France. I must admit that I love this song and it is ranked in my top of all time. Please listen to the studio version...it is a masterpiece. This song is my no 2 here.
En plena beatlemanía predominan los cantantes de voz portentosa con orquesta. En las canciones de Reino Unido y la ganadora Luxemburgo se nota alguna influencia más sesentera.
I feel about this year what you feel about 1963. Most of the songs fail to get a hold on my interest. Luxembourg was the undisputed winner and is one of the few songs I care about, together with Portugal and Spain. But your #1 is good as well.

I don't like Denmark s entry because its the same as Norway 1966 and Spains aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa part is creeping a little and the Netherlands have a catchy beat
I'm german and I think the German entry in this year was horrible. I don't like her voice, i don't like the Song, the test is ok. But I van understand why it became last, we've sent much netter Songs in other years.
I dont agree with you !!!! Luxembourg deserved 1st place. GERMANY DESERVED THE LASTS PLACES. Austria, Italy, Ireland and Switzerland are good!!! You put a bad place for Ireland because is sad, and then Denmark 4th??? I dont understand you
Poupée de Cire Poupée de Son will always be the real winner
Also know as "The Year With The Extreme Closeups." I do agree with you that Spain, Netherlands and Germany deserved much higher places. Although, In my opinion Udo's entry this year was his best on his three entries. France Gall was the worthy winner. It's just a shame what happened to her the years after she won.
1963 was worse when it came to close ups
Sad to see Walking the Streets in the Rain so low, it’s one of my favorite Eurovision songs of all time
Luxembourg! I'm in love with song "Poupee de cire, poupee de son" that's amazing. very cute
18- I don't know was it very outdated back in 1965, but I agree what you said there, that wasn't interesting anymore
17- Okay debut from Ireland, it's very slow too
16- Once again, great Italian entry and in my 2nd place also
15- I like sometimes French entries very much, not this time though, I don't dislike it, but not very good
14- Good entry, prefer her 1969 entry(which is also my winner)
13- Undeserved 0 points here
12- imo this is the weakest of Udo Jürgens's songs
11- Yeah...good, but it don't see as a 2nd place worthy song...even if how close were UK to the win these 15 competitions
10- Slow , okay, used to these ballads as these very much are close to the Soviet Estonian-typish
9- Good
8- Sweet sweet entry from them
7- This is even sweeter- I like it though
6- I guess many disliked it because Sweden were able to sing in English that year(not in a home language)- I'm not complaining about anything, but I prefer in Swedish language, opera is a special genre imo
5- Amazing, that same woman who sang THAT song(btw my winner in 1961) I love both entries, because they have that "crazy", that package: the voice, the dance moves, the catchyness...this year it's only my 3rd, but I still can't decide between top 3. PS: STILL ASHAMED THIS BECAME LAST WITH 0 POINTS

3- Another catchy and interesting entry from Dutch
2- This has to be my nr 1, not because it's just a winner, this is a DESERVED winner, a masterpiece, legendary French song which lives still to this time, very memorable
1- Nothing very special, but that didn't deserve to be a nul-pointer, like every country who got 0 points in this year didnõt deserve to get that

And I thought 1960 had forgettable songs...
Germany didn't deserve 0 points and the beat has the most sad lyrics
N. 11: i like the verses but not the chorus
austrias entry is a bit lost
Lost?
I don't like Denmark s entry because its the same as Norway 1966 and Spains aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa part is creeping a little and the Netherlands have a catchy beat
How do you think "For din skyld" and "Intet er nytt under solen" are the same? xD I think they're very different songs
can I say something the Dutch song is more like a crime scene
