I think the unwritten rule for blocking is don't block more than once. For example you could block low going into a turn to take away the preferred line, but if the car they blocked dips high to try to pass in the unpreferred line as a result, it's not cool to zip back up and block again.
which funny enough parallels circuit racing rules. you're allowed one move on the straight leading to a braking zone. to block the inside for instance. you cant just weave back up in front of him if the car behind decides to take the normal racing line when you showed your intent to defend the inside.
@@sprolyborn2554Two restrictor plate races in 2009 had the leader get wrecked because the car behind them faked a pass attempt to one side and was trying on the other. First it was Carl Edwards eating a catchfence with a side of Ryan Newman's car at Talladega when Brad Keselowski faked a pass attempt to the right before committing to one on the left. Two months later at Daytona it was Kyle Busch eating an outside wall with a side of Kasey Kahne's car when Tony Stewart faked a pass attempt to the left before committing to one on the right.
@@sprolyborn2554 What i meant is that they usually only get one move because the second-place car is able to get their nose to the side of the leader by the time the second move is attempted.
About the grass problem, the step splitter on the next gen has seemed to have fixed that problem, I've never seen a next gen get ripped up in the grass no matter how fast it's gone
Blocking is a perfect example of a self policing issue im glad it's allowed because it allows for actual racing but you know if you block ypu run the chance of getting wrecked and others racing you equally as hard It's so stupid that some sports don't even allow blocking That's like saying an offense in football doesn't a get line
it wasnt unwritten or written. you could do it. its just nobody thought it would actually work and there is really only one track on the schedule it would work at so it was hyper situational. you'd lose time anywhere else.
Rule 11, i wanna say something but idk if this could count or not but they still do it because of post race interviews. (When NBC interviews the winner) Just a thing I came up while listening to rule 11.
I can attest to Rule 10. My dad an I left the 2012 Watkins Glen race a few laps before the end of the race because we didn’t the year before and had to deal with terrible traffic when leaving. After leaving the track, we listened to the radio and heard about Kyle Busch getting spun out not far from where we were sitting in the esses. I was pretty upset at the time lol.
To be fair to Newman, if DiBenidetto wins that Bristol race, he doesn't make the playoffs that year. Also, there is a rule against blocking excessively, that's why Spencer Boyd won the 2019 Dega truck race
Lapped cars should do their best to get out of the leaders way. Unless you're Ryan Newman. Or Chase Elliott in the case of Bristol 2021 for that matter.
I know you're never supposed to walk out early, but I think me walking out early at the 2023 All Star Race at Wilks was warranted. Larson leads by a mile ever since getting the lead and nobody even comes close to him, it was boring and I could see the outcome before it was even half over. Another Larson runaway wasn't what I wanted to stay for, especially after I happened to be at the 2021 Coco-Cola 600 where he lead the whole race except for 1 lap.
Rule 11 @8:40 - Stay on the frontstretch: I don't remember where I heard it (pretty sure it was on Dale Jr Download) but they do frontstretch interviews to save on TV time. Strongly disagree with it myself and much preferred seeing the guys get out in victory lane.
Fighting isn't an unwritten rule. There are rules in the NASCAR rule book against fighting. There are also rules against "tanking." NASCAR says you have to do what you can do get the best finish possible.
Dale made it look good but he clipped the grass rather than going full-on over it. and dirt and whatever is underneath that absorbs a lot of energy so you’re slowing down alongside losing traction and control over the car…basically, you’re lucky if you don’t wreck but whatever you’re trying to gain from going onto the grass is lost immediately

Love you raw gator
I’m the 1,000th like 😂
I loved when you said “ you should always get out of the leaders way if your a lap car, unless your Ryan Newman.” 🤣🤣🤣
That Ryan Newman one with Matty D at Bristol was heartbreaking, but you can't just let him pass you. You got to race.
Doing a Polish victory lap is a cool unwritten rule.😊
im not even joking i genuinely shouted "yes!" when you uploaded!!!!!
Never ask iracers how much they’ve spent on the game
When Jeff Gordon won that talladega race. 8 year old me was ready to throw everything too. My old man had to calm me down lol
nascar was always wild fr

For good reason too, that could destroy your whole race. Usually it's a pretty dumb move for drivers to do.

13) Don't wreck someone else without wrecking yourself
Rule number 1 in racing: DON'T TAKE OUT YOUR TEAMMATE!
Rule number 2 in racing: See rule 1
Rule M: Don't fuck with Matt Kenseth if your name is Joey Logano. Why is this rule named Rule M? 2 things, Matt and Martinsville.
As an F1/WEC fan, I have to say NASCAR is nuts and seems like pure chaos. I don't really follow it, but I still love watching your videos.
Was there one that Kyle Busch was not involved in 😂

It's so stupid that some sports don't even allow blocking
That's like saying an offense in football doesn't a get line
It make sense to have a rule in open-wheel racing because that can sometimes result in an airborne crash like Mark Webber in Valencia 2010
It was unwritten but don't full send it into the wall and pass your opponents
(Ross Chastain)

I was actually at the 2017 Dover Race and 2019 Bristol Race. Both tikes the guy i was rooting for got screwed over by Newman.
That’s why I liked Newman he makes it more interesting
Here since the 1k and happy that you got your 100th 🎉

W Rawgator!
Blocking has its consequences. Getting wrecked😂😂😂
Lets put it this way on the blocking rule. If your going to block be prepared to be punted into the wall
This is incorrect, the #1 unwritten rule is to be able to wreck someone without wrecking yourself
No matter which f1 driver you are, if you're a formula driver, you're super gay.
Not passing a team mate I would say is fine, but wrecking out I would say is not.
3:20 lmao i watched that live and I was thinking: “Joey logano doing Joey logano things”
He didn't, because he is my fav. 9:07 LOVE YOU HAMLIN

Chase Elliott loses on purpose in 2023
What is the bump music on the title cards
After Ty Gibbs won the Xfinity race at Indy this year, he was told to not burnout on the bricks.

"Cart corrale"? Aren't those things called cart returns or are they different depending on where you live?
different based on where you are and what signs your store buys…the three supermarket chain i shop at call them kart korrales
