I went to my Kroger a few days ago and got over $100 worth of groceries for $40 🥲 I was very excited!! Lots of Johnsonville breakfast sausage for $1.50 a package, jumbo hot dogs, chicken sausage, a salad kit that made two meals for me, a fancy Lunchable (lol) that I had for dinner that night, etc. I’m not working right now, so clearance shopping is such a blessing. Thank you for introducing me to it!!
Our Kroger is a Fred Meyer and they have incredible deals, don't they? I can't remember the last time I bought reg priced fresh fruit and vegetables and meat. I blanch, ice bath, portion and freeze fresh vegetables if I find a lot... the deals throughout the grocery depot are random and very good.
I wish we Kroger.
We moved and basically only have Kroger. I can’t stand them. I never find deals, they are constantly out, etc. I miss Market Basket.
@@christenkieffner The deals are not in the weekly ads, they're in the store. Shop in the morning and look for discounted food items.
Easy way to stop bugs in flour, rice etc is to put whole dried bay leaves in the container you store your product in. Been doing this for years, never a problem with bugs. Only need to replace the bay leaves every 12 to 18 months.
I work at a discount store (maybe the same chain that you go to) and I can agree with you that I have saved so much money on food, soda, and snacks as a college student. Discount stores are a must to save money.
What store?
Unfortunately, we have no discount/savage stores in my area. I have been watching your videos, and plan to use some of your tips and tricks to help save money on groceries this year! Thanks for the content!
Same here.
Me too
Mine either but I do keep my eyes open for clearance stickers and learned what to look for at Walmart on meat to get it discounted. If it’s within 24 hours, I get a grocery manager and they mark it down. 🥳

Oh my those RAOS 🤤 such a great steal
Hi Christine, just found you a week ago, I think we live in the same town or nearby! You are amazing. We’ve had so many young women go off to college who have no idea how to cook and then so many women in our church who try to eat out that can’t afford to. We’re always trying to hold classes on how to cook from scratch but your videos where they can do it from the comfort of their home are absolutelyinspired thank you so much. Hugs.❤
I saw Basmati for that price in your video, sank on my knees and cried.
😂😂😂
Hi Christine!! Hows your daughter doing? I am planning to tighten up my budget in 2024. I was a little more laxed in 2023. I am also going to take your advice and teach my kids how to eat more at meal time rather than living on snacks 😅
I'm a snacker like your kids, and what helps is
#1 eating a big protein rich low carb breakfast. So I stay satisfied until lunch, and no sugar/carbs means no hunger spikes/crashes all day.
I do like crunchy flavorful grabbable foods to munch on at lunchtime. I keep small pickles, baby carrots, flavored nuts of all kinds (I like krogers spicy peanuts- very inexpensive and flavorful). Celery sticks, Cabot pre-sliced cheese, tortilla chips, sliced bell peppers, sliced apples, banana chips, pop corn, trail mix, and sugar snap peas. All gluten free and good for munching.
And I make dips ahead of time, like yogurt cucumber tzatziki, spicy hummus, cottage cheese + ranch packet dip, spicy mustard, and Sweet Baby Ray's no sugar added BBQ & honey mustard sauces.
Chicken nuggets, kroger Italian meatballs, and sausage rounds all come in large quantities so you can make small portions for grabby munchy snacky time.
If there's readily available good food, then they'll go ahead and eat the healthy snack food. But sometimes you have to entice with sauces and dips lol.
Happy New Year to you and your family 🎉. I’m looking forward to your videos this year. I hope you do more “pantry and freezer “ meals . Love watching those videos and recipes. ❤
I live in South Dakota and we don’t have a salvage grocery store at all but you can still find deals at local grocery stores! Your tips are so great!
I love doing the frugal shopping & the discount/salvage stores are my favorites.
Any time we are in southwest Missouri, we try to include Ozark in our visit. They have a great store there for deals, called Discount Freight and Grocery. It's super well organized and the staff is so kind and friendly! Highly recommend!! I just wish we lived closer!!! ❤
Sounds like a great find!!
@@FrugalFitMomwould love to see healthy eating videos and healthy eating grocery hauls.
I’m in Harrison, AR just south of Branson and I’ve never heard of this! Gotta check it out!
So many great deals! It makes me ready to try our discount store again and see what they have! 🎉
Yes...those seasoning packets are awesome.
I always forget to go to the discount grocery store. This was a timely and excellent reminder.
We dont have any of those grocery stores here in FL where I live
@@keyweststarr I'm in Florida too and wish we had one of these stores!
Love love love all the inserts into your posts… cracks me up! Also love Friends… all of them!
I am from the UK. I think B&M or Home bargains would be our discount grocery stores. Love your idea of shopping for discounts first then doing your meal plan.
Also uk, I really wish we had proper discount stores here.
Sometimes i really wish we had coupons like the states do.
Would it not be more like " the company shop" And "approved foods" 😊 ?
Can’t do it without discount stores like that, no matter your skills and diligence. Doesn’t negate your inspirational tips, though!
Great shopping haul. I'm glad to see you back. Hope your 2024 is amazing! Keep the frugal videos coming.
Just did a shop at Smith's, got some great clearance items. Salad kits, yogurt drinks, ground beef, candy, nuts, oranges all on clearance. Plus Smith's other great deals for the week and I saved more than 50%. Such a great way to shop for groceries. 🙂
Annie's products are mostly cleaner then the other brands along with organic. Great haul🎉
Discount Grocery Stores are the best! You got an amazing haul of expensive, high quality brands for an amazing price. Sadly, my favorite discount store in my area has really increased their prices since 2020, so I am very choosy. Aldi is often a better deal, so you really have to know your prices before you shop. This comes from years of feeding a big family on a tight budget and paying close attention to the prices of foods we purchase regularly. Thanks for the tip on freezing rice! I’ve never heard that one before.
You found so many things NY family eats all the time! The Powe Crunch bars and Annie's mac ans cheese deals you got were amazing!
Wow! Great tip about the bugs in the rice and flour products!
hi christine good to see you back happy new year . mountain bikein sounds amazing
Wish we had more discount stores in San Antonio TX
I am so comforted by your amazing videos
WOW those are some crazy low prices. No Canadian deep discount or salvage stores with those kind of prices- great finds Christine. This month we're doing a no shop January (exception fresh fruit & some fresh veg) but if we came across deep discounted items we'd be stocking up for sure. That Rao's sauce and Bonne Maman Jam!!!
You're back!!!🎉🎉🎉
Seeing the regular price on Rao's makes the time I take to grow and can my own tomato sauced even more valuable. I will be adding a couple extra tomato plants to the garden plan.
Thats what we do with boxed or the bags of rice and sausage like that for a quick and easy meal!! Thanks for the bug tip. I've never thought about that!
Awesome deals! I love shopping at my local discount grocery! I find so many nane brand and organic foods that are super cheap compared to regular grocery stores. It's like a treasure hunt every time I go in! I've saved mega bucks by shopping there. So grateful to have it within 20 miles of my home.
The best thing to do with rice and oats (we recently had the bug problem with a bag of quick oats) is to have a clear air tight container to pour it into so it's easier to see through. Another thing is to put them in a freezer bag and freeze them for a couple of days and then thaw; that will kill any bugs or larvae/eggs.
Thanks for this video. I use my discount grocery store all the time. It really does save you money. Especially when you are on a tight budget and need to stretch meals
Happy new year, Christine!
Power Crunch is FANTASTIC!
😘 love it when you can get name brand products 🎉for a discount price. Nice 🙂👍 video.
Hi Christine! Love your videos! Did you already do one telling the total amount you spent for groceries in in 2023?
I really missed the monthly reports towards the end of year and figured we wouldn't get one. Here's hoping I'm wrong.
i love the power crunch cold, leave in the fridge for a little and its amazing.
Great tip!
Love the rice tip!!
I love you ❤
Keep posting 🙌
Hiya from Ohio! I have found bugs in Walmart beans before! I wish we had a discount store closer! But I’m the queen of the clearance racks in all the stores
I'm a newer viewer *heh* and I just love how you edit! You have clips that I don't see in everyone else's vids. Love it! 🙂
Great finds!! Welcome back!
Thank you!
Can’t find my comment from the other day but talking to you would be awesome! I had said I love all the inserts into the videos and I love friends
Wholeheartedly agree! Find your salvage stores, y'all! At my local salvage store, I get in date gluten free Annies mac and cheese 2/$1. Yesterday, I got Kerry Gold sliced Cheddar cheese and the KG 8 oz tubs of whipped butter 4/$5. KILLER DEALS!
My favorite thing to buy, though, is pet food. Super high-quality brands like Solid Gold 3 pouches of cat food for $1! Blue Wilderness dog food for less than $1/lb!
Thank you. I hadn't thought to look for pet food there
I just tried Raos egg plant parm. So good! Bought from Costco. Saved us from eating out twice
Happy New Yer! Welcome Back!
Amazing Christine🎉
My grocery store in area; my Kroger has the best deals for sales. You got so many awesome deals! Being in date I would have stocked up for months or to donate to a local food pantry!
Rice and beans.. I sight inspect...then Into canning jars with moisture absorber...then vacuum seal...no oxegen.no bugs.
Awesome deals!!! Wish we had one here!! We use to have one but not anymore
Great deals! Good job!
Score on the Rao's!!!! Love that stuff!!!
Love your enthusiasm & videos. Just me so my pantry is well stocked. Protein in freezer not so much. I just have refrigerator freezer & it doesn't hold a lot 😢.
Only one near me but now the prices are just a fraction below grocery store prices. Nothing like yours. You have some fantastic buys. Happy New Year 2024.
All good deals! Especially the Lundberg rice products! I live near them, awesome family run business ...can be pricey even for locals.
I do not have a discount grocery store near me that offers deep sales nor my local grocer ever have great discounts displayed either. You find awesome deals !
The special sauces are awesome for dipping anything and I make mine a bit thinner for salad dressing. Good finds!
We are remodeling kitchen but once it's done my goal is to set up a nicely stocked pantry. I can't wait.
That Matteo’s salsa is amazing!!
We love our local salvage store. The Amish run it and they have great deal and lots of bulk items like pasta, flour and sugar. And they also have homemade breads and cookies as well. It's always a fun trip.
Heck yeah!!
Love zatarains! Get the jambalaya all the time. I add onions, peppers, celery, shredded carrots and andoulliesausage.. Spreads the meal farther and I believe the carrots and sweet peppers take a little bit of the spicy kick out.
I love Zatarains too. As a matter of fact I’m making red beans and rice tonigh. I usually add extra beans. I love kidney beans so that is what I normally add in. I like to add chicken along with the sausage also.
Cheesy Rice A Roni and a pound of ground beef = a great meal!
I mix chicken and broccoli with cheesy rice and it turns out yummy.
We have one in Southern California that has Vegetable boxes for 15 dollars it is awesome.
✋️Scotcharoos are so good!
Happy new year! I love protein bars. I will stick one in my bag at work when I get ready to go over to do intake at the court house
Great tip about freezing grain for a bit.
Agreed on Power Crunch awesomeness
So much for the Build Bar that sponsors you
Wow, I wish we had a store like that in my small town!
That special sauce is amazing on all things chicken. Especially wings. Yep. That's a winner. I just discovered a discount grocery section of a store in my area. HUGE fan.
Scotcheroos are a family favorite of ours for 4 generations!
I love discount store shopping! I get the PowerCrunch bars for 25 cents each at the ones I go to in NE Wisconsin.
LOL, on the ranch you said 2 lbs. of oil. Your awesome, love your videos.
Great haul!
Wow Christime!!
Omg thank you for the freezer trick. It's so frustrating every time I get pantry moths!
Happy New Year Christine and to all of yours, what an awesome video, envy that you have that good of discount store, we have a few in my area but it can be very!!! sketchy to purchase certain items😮😢
Frugal/fresh tip🏅
When you get fresh bread and u know for certain that it will take days to finish it up, freeze it the 1st chance you have ❤
Hi Christine,
Thank you for this video I have been watching your channel since 2020. I never leave any comments even though I always enjoyed them. However this one is very informative and interesting I commend you on this. Keep posting these tips.
Again thank you so much.
Bone broth is great for making your own sauces and stews. 😊
I save all my bones from our meals in bags sorted by type of animal in the freezer. When I have enough to make a big batch in my large stock pot. Once the broth is cooked I pressure can or freeze it so I always have home made stock on hand. It saves me a lot of money and tastes so much better than store bought.
Fun to see u get excited about food deals. I love to watch yr vlogs, but I don’t buy in bulk, as I don’t eat most of that stuff. An we don’t have a discount store in my area.😊
We have no discount food stores by us!! You are so lucky to have them!!
It’s crazy that living in the Boise metro area there are no salvage stores like that. We only have grocery outlet and I never find great deals.
I have 2 liquidation stores in my town. They get everything from Costco. All returns or damaged boxes. I get so many good items (food, clothes, household items) for less than half of what it would cost at Costco.
Thanks for the freezer tip!
Well done!
I live outside of San Antonio, where HEB rules the grocery market. There is Wal-Mart, Sam’s, Costco, and one Kroger all 30 miles away. Thankfully the HEB brand products are as good and sometimes better than name brands. That is really the only way to save. Their meal deals are pretty good too if you use those products. My husband being on a carnivore diet also makes it challenging to save but we do the best we can. The trick is knowing the local markets and stocking up during sales.
As soon as you said "fajita seasoning" I immediately thought of the episode where Ross said he was making fajitas 😂😂😂😂
Rogue and Speedy for president!!! My discount store has gone up so much
My family hates pork..add Kinders and they'll eat it up! The cooking sauce is great too!
Awesome. Wish I had a discount store near me.
Don’t forget all of the stores are clearing off all of their food that have Christmas packaging, It’s good for a long time. Also Turkey is .50 cents a pound at one of my local Walmarts. It’s a good stock up price 😀
I also found condensed milk for .25 a can and canned pumpkin for .50 a can at a different Walmart. I stocked up on those too.
Great tip!
Yep! Caught Kroger getting rid of all of their excess Campbell's cream soups they ordered for Christmas. From $1.99 to .50 a can. Got 24 for $12. Down from $48!!
I picked up discounted lamb leg roasts at my local store. It was a manager's special to clear out the holiday meats. Not only was it half price but they only carry it this time of year. I am just glad I had the freezer space for it. They also had some high end hams marked down too. My other local store had the turkeys and hams marked down.
I got a turkey breast at my Walmart for $.50 a lb. $3.19 in my freezer
Come to Northwest Arkansas to mountain bike! It’s heaven for mountain bikers here! We just moved here and are so excited at all of the trails!!!!
I am watching in amazement about regular prices for the stuff. Here in Europe I‘ll pay about 20 % more on the discount price- but in a regular store!!!
Scotcharoos are awesome! 😊 Sadly I don’t have a salvage grocery like that in my area. Best I have is an Ollie’s with a pantry-food section.
I wish I had a local discount store.
I love the Well Yes soups. Any soup I can put in a thermal mug ans sip when life is nuts. A meal and vegetables = done. Plus if you make a batch of soup in individual servings they freeze well. I have a teeny (20oz) crockpot I can set in the morning and it's hot and ready when I am ready to eat. ❤
I keep looking for discount stores in my area but there aren’t any 😫 and the grocery stores around here never have like good clearance food. You may get a loaf of bread half off if it’s a day past best by date. I would literally drive from northeast Ohio to you just to get the satisfaction of those deep discounts. Hope you had a great Christmas and New Year and enjoyed your mini YT break!
