There are a lot more depressing Marvel characters out there. Jessica is just from the deep end of the pool where R-rated stuff tends to happen. Brutal, nasty, nightmarish stuff.
You know how Jessica has to sometimes play the valley girl on the show to get through certain problems? It's so funny that actually all she does in those scenes is play herself.

Jessica isn't a sexist character per se, but the camera views do objectify her in some scenes. We don't see Matt Murdock's butt jiggle on the screen when he gets some legal documents from a shelf, but when Jessica does that, the camera zooms on her butt... That scene certainly got my attention so I would know! :P

Her reaction at 0.45 indicates something more than defending happens between JJ + LC or she may have been instructed to play up potential scenarios. I really hope it's the former and whilst I'm not a big shipper I really liked them together. It was pretty brutal how their relationship ended. So I'm hoping they play this up in the series and whilst I don't expect a full on reunion (seasons 2 for both characters) I hope to see some sort of nod to indicate a future between them.
