Excellent guide, tio Tony. I purchased the card but this was back in 2022 so it's got that 10th Anniversary design on it with a large "10" on the face so it looks like a 10-trip ticket jaja! You've probably seen those around.

Tony, thanks for your tips. We bought a multicard at the airport (and back). It was indeed very easy eventhough we are a little bit older (64). Also thank you for the tips where we could find delicious food. We ate at Yerbuena and VI Cool. It were the best meals we had in Madrid. We spent 4 full days in Madrid and we have seen a lot

Great video as always! Only suggestion I have (as I am currently in Madrid and needed this information) is to also describe what the 1 journey ticket process is as it is a little more confusing than the 10 ticket journey. It wasn’t clear to me whether I could transfer using the same ticket and I nearly had a heart attack when the fare inspectors stopped me (at the first station) haha!. In any case your videos are super helpful for trip planning. Thank you!
Thank you! We really see no reason why 99,9% of visitors to Madrid would want to purchase a single ticket, that's why we haven't given more attention to it. The tickets we've described don't include transfers - unlike what happens in Barcelona.
thanks as usual for your helpful videos - I do have a question though as we typically like using the metro in cities but also use buses. In this one you talked about the 10 metrobus so I'm assuming can only be used on buses - is that correct? If we want to use both transport systems, which one should we be buying as saw your video on titulo turitico - does this mean we need to buy that one instead? thanks for clarifying
Hi Janice, the Metrobus 10 journeys can be used in the metro and/or buses, it's up to you. All the best.
Hi Toni, Thank you so much for all your information as it is by far the best! We will be visiting Spain in May and will travel from Valencia to Madrid via high speed train. Our friends live just outside of Madrid. They have told us to take train line C7 or C2 from Chamartin and get off at La Garena station. So am I right in thinking when we buy our multi-card, we will need to buy tickets for 2 zones (Zone A & B3)? We will probably only use the train 2 or 3 times whiles we are there because they will be taking us around. Thanks so much for your help, MaryAnn
Hello, as explained on the video, the Multi Card cannot be used on the trains unless you purchase a Tourist Ticket. You will have to buy a Renfe&Tú card and you will pay for each specific trip you take. All the best.

I saw both guides for Multi Card and T-Mobility and I really find it unnecessarily complicated. The videos are really clear but I really hope they can consider a simpler way of taking payment without multiple categories of tickets.
Unfortunately, that is unlikely to happen, the Multi Card system has been in place for a decade now.

No, you can keep them as long as you need them.
This guide is really helpful! The children fares are not so clear to me: we have a 5 years old boy: does he need to pay for the Metro like an adult? Or the Children's card is valid also for children that are in Madrid just for an holiday? Thank you for your help.
Anyone of four or above pays the same as an adult.
Nice to mention would also be the App "Tarjeta Transporte" which allows the holder of a Tarjeta Multi to top up with the mobile phone.
None the less I still have a question. Sometimes I would need to travel to Majadahonda, which is in the B2 zone if I understand correctly. is it possible to have tickets for Zone A and A-B2 on the same card, or do i need two Multicards?
Thank you, we will talk about the app once it allows you to validate your trip with it. We believe you cannot have different zone cards at the same time, as the machine wouldn't be able to tell which one to use, but ask any attendant at any metro station, they will surely be able to give you a definite answer not that.
Hi. What about the 10 journey combo ticket which has not been explained in your video. What is it used for?
We've only talked about the tickets useful for tourist. The 10 journey combined ticket is valid for the metro and the light railway.
What do you recommend for a family of 2 people, 5 days who wants to travel by bus and metro? Thank you!
Probably several Metrobus 10 journey tickets.

I plan to take the Renfe Cercanias train from Madrid airport to Atocha then change to a metro to reach my hotel. I also plan to travel around Madrid to sightsee. Would it be good if I buy the Tarjeta multi card at the airport, then add the Renfe train ticket inside? Is this the way to do it?
Train tickets use a different card (Renfe&Tú), they cannot be loaded on the MultiCard.
I have an important question. On 10:38 with the new machine it says „Metrosur ticket“ "metronorte ticket“ and „Metroeste ticket“ so does that mean that I can't take a ride with Metrosur when I bought Metronorte? Or what does that mean?
Those tickets are for very specific lines that leave the city boundaries. Are you sure you are going to use them?
If I have leftover rides in my Tarjeta multi card, can I have a refund on that? Or it works like the Barcelona T-mobilitat card where there is no refund.
There are no refunds, but the card is valid for 10 years.

You might be best served getting the metro. Plaza Espana metro station is a short walk from your hotel. D
Hi Jess, the airport bus won't get you anywhere near the hotel. If you are traveling with luggage, take a taxi or a ridesharing service. The airport bus does two stops, the first at Cibeles Fountain, final at Atocha Station, both are on the other side of the city centre to where you want to be. D
For the single metro ticket, you mean if I buy for the 10 single metro tickets, I have to use them all in a day?
Yes. But why would you want to do that??? Buy a Metrobus 10 journey ticket instead.
Can one tourist ticket on one multi card be used by two people? I thought multi card can be used by more than one person but not sure if the tourist card can be.
The Tourist Ticket is individual, each person must have a Multi Card.
