My 10th Great-grandfather Sir Anthony Jackson is one of the Knights buried at Temple Church. I visited his grave site on July 25, 2024. Unfortunately his name is not inscribed on any of the effigy monuments but records show he is buried under the church.
Knights of the Templar - was an organization in England which started as early as the time of King Arthur of the round table. These knights had taken an oath of honor to live a righteous life, protect the innocent, spread goodwill and good deeds throughout the realm, fight and protect the Holy Church of England, protect the King and his family, uphold what is right and just, and most of all to be loyal to the King and country.
Where did you read that ? The Templars order was created in 1119 by the French knight Hughes de Payens with the agreement of Baldwin II king of Jerusalem. Their patron Saint was Bernard of Clairvaux (French monk). It has absolutely nothing to do with the Arthurian legend and the so called Church of England ( founded by Henry VIII four centuries later) Sorry !
Cross legged Knights indicate that the person so represented died in the Christian faith. As crusaders were supposed so to do, they were generally represented on their tombs with crossed legs. Sometimes the figure on the tomb of a knight has his legs crossed at the ankles, this meant that the knight went one crusade. If the legs are crossed at the knees, he went twice; if at the thighs he went three times., if he lacks it crossed legs it just means he never got go on a crusade or was a squire.
BUT, We are still here, and through the wheel of reincarnation still serving God, the Almighty Father. I do not recall details, but I do recall the essence of the will of a Tempar knight, whose ways of living were austere, pure, courageous and selfless, serving as tools to strengthen the fortitude, devout nature and selfless service to God of these privileged perons, who were chosen for these sacred duties, especially in protecting the road to Jerusalem. Then later, they could serve their Creator for the benefit of the masses, in times of their direst need, when in the darkest hour that mankind has seen, apocalyptic conditions would spread with uncanny speed across the world! I sense I only served once in Jerusalem and the outlying area, but always with the absolute commitment to lay down my life in God's service, against all odds, for the poor, for the worshippers, and above all for the Almighty, to make safe this road, not just physically, but spiritually too. Yes. we usually had money and titles, but the path of living righteously demanded that we were able to do so without forming attachments to either woman, food, money, status, or any other material attractions. Thus, the ways of these Knights was one of continued penance and absolution, sometimes perhaps excessively, in their efforts to suffer privations in service to God. And I have suffered karmically though these excesses, for man is to learn to make use of the good things in life, but without committing idolatry by which he becomes enslaved by his possessions or desires for them, and then severs himself from the Will of God. For those intrigued by the essence of the knightly spirit, then let me assure you, this exists in luminous planes above the earth, where knightly embodiments pass on virtuous streams of energy, which we can open ourselves to when we are inspired to live in honourable ways, for they are the virtues that lead us back to Paradise, our true eternal home! There is also a path by which courage and heroism can find its way to a special place in Creation, which was seen by the Vikings, who I believe called it Valhalla, a place for heroes, although it is actually a collection of heroic deeds and their related energies. Truth betold, a radiant hero does exist at the highest point in Creation too, in a Temple or Castle, described in Revelations, which is doubtless linked to the Temple of Jersualem built by King Solomon. This hero incarnated upon the earth on at least two occasions, once as Krishna, and secondly in service to a King who he serves ad infinitum, and who sits in rule over the whole of Creation. This King of Kings is also desribed in Revelations, and He is the true Radiant Hero, a Spirit without parallel, the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Truth, the King of the Grail, and at the same time the Creative Will of the Almighty. He too has incarnated twice upon this earth, first at the time of Moses to help guide a chosen people, who could embrace the coming Son of God, and then a second time as the Son of Man, as promised by Jesus, as a last chance for men to transform their ways of living, attain to Salvation, and thus avert the total destruction of the earth. This possibility still exists today, but less so, for men did not hear and see the Light when It came, for they were too busy doing 'other things'. The Light shineth in the Darkness, but the Darness neither seeth, nor heareth not. Now, men must change, and live a spiritual way of life, whereby they surrender their whole spirit, or soul, to their Creator, or else, for otherwise eternal perdition lays in wait for him. Many of the former Templar knights now return, linked to their former heroic deeds, to help man, in these his darkest hours. I sense 2028 will truly be the starting date for these events through a nuclear holocaust of the US, although the Final Judgement has been occurring since the early 1930's, which the Son of Man preapared, initiated and blessed. The Apocalypse is simply the final intensified part of the greater happening, and brings with it the demand from the Almighty, 'man, how do you stand, for it now to be, or not to be'. A great Comet will mark the near end of this 28-30 year period, when it stands over a Holy Mountain, unkown to the masses. It is the power from this comet that helps bring the great Judgement, through it primordial power, so man's karmic reactions can stir the human spirits out of their spiritual lethargy, through the most intense pain imaginable. Thus, man must adapt to the Laws of Creation and the Ray of Love, which is married to Justice, for what does man now know of Justice and Love. By inwardly changing, man must lose his vanity and fears, especially that of scarcity, so that in humility he can begin to receive of the Water of Life once more, and serve God in obedience and with gratitude. Indeed, man's life should be a continuous, joyous, living prayer, which sings harmoniously with all God's creatures in a hymn of praise to Him, who breathed life into our very souls! Amen, and Blessed Be!

The church's architecture is wonderful in it's own virtue, not just "nice" - sounds unimpressive. The music is so spiritually uplifting. An atheist said that he would convert to catholicism just because of the music. In spite of all the wrong doings by the human side, I thank God for making me a Catholic.
@ParaGlitter You are more than certainly correct there. I should imagine to a fellow Templar that their body positions were like reading a book. Every subtle difference told a different story:) Thanks for commenting.
I also have just come across your site and thought i would have a look at some of your work and to find it very interesting as i am very interested in the paranormal. Its nice to find someone who tells you a bit about the history of the place as well. Keep up the good work .
William Marshall is my 23rd GGrandfather, and was considered the greatest of Knights. He married Isabel de Clare, the daughter of Richard FitzGilbert "Strongbow" de Clare
@@gloriahanes6490 Yes. My family lines go back to the Plantagenet Kings, Viking Kings,, even Russia, Ethiopia and Egyptian Pharoahs. So...where is my inheritance! lol! Seriously though, what is interesting to me is to actually see the inter=relatedness of the same families through history. You research a new line only to find the same grandparents make yet another appearance. If we could go back far enough, we are all truly related.
In respects to the knights' legs crossed. Not crossed, no crusades, if they crossed at the ankle they had been on a crusade, if at knees they had been on 2 and at the thighs 3 or more. Guess high school history class paid off years ago lol.
Not true at all. Case in point, William Marshall 1st Earl of Pembroke, buried at the Temple (London), Legs straight with no crossing. He was on crusade in around 1185-6. He secretly vowed to join the Knights Templar on his deathbed, a vow which he fulfilled in 1219.
I reckon the templars found the secrets of king Solomon's magic it makes sense because there head quarters was GODS temple of Solomon who knows what they found there GOD IS GREAT BTW PRAISE YESHUA JESUS CHRIST KING OF KING

Great stuff, a pity that you couldn't do your work but even ghost-hunters need a day off LOL; maybe another visit in the near future? Take care mate, cheers.
I had a fellow coworker come by my toolbox at a job and he put a templar sticker on my box, didn't say a word and left. It was strange. Dont know what he meant by it. I live in arkansas( u.s.a)
With all respect, the 9 effigies of knights in the Temple Church in London are actually NOT effigies of Templars. They are effigies of secular knights, (not one of them is depicted wearing the Templar habit) which isn't surprising, given that non-Templars who in some way benefited the order could be buried in Templar churches. You were a non-Templar knight and your rich father made a donation to the Temple? You qualified. 5 of the 9 non-Templar knights have been identified, and this information is online. Memorials to actual Templar masters in this church were destroyed when the order was suppressed. Also, the belief that crossed legs on knightly effigies means that those knights fought in the Holy Land has never been proven. It became a fashion in the 13th century for sculptors to depict deceased knights in this position, as it suggested ease and rest. Almost ALL effigies of knights from this period, including those who are known to NOT have gone on Crusade, are depicted with crossed legs.
+Gunnar; Thanks! I have been trying to find out for years what happened to English Templar master's records or memorials. My wife's 32nd great uncle (Richard de Hastings) was the first master of the English Templars (1160-1185) and I am trying to find out where he was buried and when he might have been on crusade. He was born in 1132 and I suppose went into the Templar order at an early age. There is some documentation on him regarding Richard the II and Thomas Becket, but other than seeing him listed as master, that is all I can find.
Gunnar... absolutely correct. A case in point would be that of William Marshall, a secular knight whose effigy is present in the temple, but despite his highly illustrious career, was never recorded as having belonged to the Templar order.
if death occurs when breath allowed the sleeping is welcomed with arms at chest crossed and right of leg over the left , almost like the Pharaoh before him

I have visited a number of times on visits to London and attended an Easter Matin with a celebration and ritual in the round. What an experience. When you visit make sure you go up the stairs to the top section to get a great view of the entire church. One thing I’d like to do is get down into the crypt, but it’s off limits. Wealth in the form of gold, land and estates donated by kings, counts, earls and barons throughout Europe. Their vast estates generated additional wealth. They owned farms, ranches and vineyards across Europe. They developed a banking system with this wealth and lended money to royalty and nobility at good interest for the purpose of funding armies and waging feudal wars. War was big business back then. As it is today I suppose. Kings also paid them to guard their treasuries.

@WeeeWriter It was a joint collaboration Monique between the French King and the Catholic Pope. The King owed them much money, and the Pope feared their wealth and power! Just like modern day politics:)
Thank you Chris. Great vid. Very respectful and illuminating. There was a very haunting song playing after the organ music. It sounded similar to a violin. Do you happen to know the artist or song title of it? Any help much appreciated. Thanks.

Do we know how the knights templars acquired their vast amounts of money.
Largely through wealth donated to the order and by the spoils of war, I should think, David.
Wealth in the form of gold, land and estates donated by kings, counts, earls and barons throughout Europe. Their vast estates generated additional wealth. They owned farms, ranches and vineyards across Europe. They developed a banking system with this wealth and lended money to royalty and nobility at good interest
for the purpose of funding armies and waging feudal wars. War was big business back then. As it is today I suppose. Kings also paid them to guard their treasuries.
Welcome to 2021. Covid rules have banned organ playing?
Nothing surprises me nowadays. We appear to have travelled back to the Puritan era and are at full steam towards medieval feudalism.
William Marshal Earl of Pembroke is my ancestor through his daughter Maud and William de Warenne.
patteel William marshal is my 27 th great grandfather
@@edwardleach4678 He's my 25th, then Maud Marshal/Hugh Bigod, as well as Eva Marshal/William de Braose.. so, he's in my tree twice. It has been just unreal learning my family tree. I think everyone should take the time to research it.
Why were there no Templars in the Tolkien stories? Everybody else seemed to get a gig............
@WeeeWriter It was a joint collaboration Monique between the French King and the Catholic Pope.
The King owed them much money, and the Pope feared their wealth and power! Just like modern day politics:)
Nice video, thanks!
Thank you Chris. Great vid. Very respectful and illuminating. There was a very haunting song playing after the organ music. It sounded similar to a violin. Do you happen to know the artist or song title of it? Any help much appreciated. Thanks.
Impressive...

I had a response from another person in my inbox and the comment is no longer here. praetorianus72 said that my question was stupid. No question is stupid, questions are posed because the person wants an answer. Grow up.

When you state you are filming the building and only focus on filming Freer it defeats the purpose... - you failed to show us the stained glass windows and the film falls dismally short here. . .
@anzac2404 Wayne - Got three investigations at night to share when I get a chance to edit them mate! Stay tuned!:)
@tsegat01 It is my pleasure - thanks for commenting:)
Rest in peace ,
The Knights Templar. The inscription at Roslyn chapel, I can read. There is a spelling mistake. And the Holy Grail is in Europe., I'm a Sinclair, blood line of William the Conqueror. I don't want any to or media coverage. Thanks for this video. Please respect our ancestors.
Two of my ancestors were Knights Templar. One of them accompanied King Richard on the third crusade. Also I am a descendant of Rollo the Viking, who was the G.G. Grandfather of William The Conqueor.
P.S. Knights Templar were supposed to be celibate . I guess my ancestors didn't get the memo.
@@billstokes6740 Rollo is my sons 32nd G. Grandfather.
@@dm607 We could be related.
@@billstokes6740 Absolutely Bill. When you get down to the nitty gritty end of ancestry it really is a small world. My husband has an uncle about 10 gens back, his brother is my best friends 9th great uncle!
