- Rupaul's Drag Race Season 16 Episode 9 Reaction + Untucked! The 8th episode for RPDR 16 is OUT! We reacted to the full episode. All of the queens entered the werq room and Rupual told them they would be doing a spit take for the mini challenge! Ru would tell a joke and the queens would have their mouths filled with water and spit it out for a video segment. It was fun. Rupaul then announced todays main challenge would be another design challenge! This marks the 3rd one this season! We have some very talented designers this season. And a few that do not know how to sew.. Some girls received help and that bothered a few queens. The runway was outstanding! These queens brought some incredible looks for just getting one day to create. The winner this week was Q! Well deserved! The bottom 2 queens were Mhi'ya Iman Le'Paige and Plasma... The Mhi'ya Iman Le'Paige vs Plasma Lip sync was hands down going to Mhi'ya!!! . The 7th queen eliminated was Plasma . We were surprised because she had 2 wins.. We then reacted to the 9th untucked. Do you think the right queen was eliminated????
No, Mhi'ya should have gone home. This episode shows the problem with the lips sync for your life format because it allows a queen who isn't doing that great on the show except during lip sync performances to stay over a queen has objectively done much better and deserves to stay more based on track record. Mhi'ya has been in the bottom 3 times, she has NO SHOT at winning or even making it to the finale, we all know this. Production isn't even doing her a favor by letting her stay over Plasma, with the way the fandom is she'll get tons of hate for it.

@@JaydaKapri Lip syncs are a huge part of drag tho lol, it's not just runway, Mi'yah may not make it to the end but she won the lip sync end of. I'm sad to see Plasma go and she was doing great in the competition but I can bet you anything she'll come back in an all stars or something
absolutely! if people are like “you should learn how to sew before going on drag race” the same can be said about lip syncing, it’s a lipsync for your life and plasma lost

Not plain ignoring the fact that the last time their stuff was considered similar was because Plasma graciously let two other people use her fabric 🙄
I don't think Plane was that serious and I think she should have left Plasma alone and Plasma did not copy her because she literally didn't know her design but there's a difference in using the same fabric to having similar design elements. And although Plane was just being a b i t c h, she was right, her design would've made Plasma's design look even worse.
Honestly no one did bad in this Challenge including Plasma, I really like all the looks
It sucks that Plasma had to go but there was no denying the slayage that Mhi'ya did on that lipsync. That backflip in a gown was next level.
Q's look was not goth, it was club kid, which Ru has a soft spot for. But don't call it a goth challenge if you're not going to judge it that way.

It was Neo Goth. She had deathrock makeup and was Sopor Aeternus inspired. Neo Goth was the theme, so it means reinterpretation of Gothic
Why I live for Mhiya. She's quiet and relatable.She can DANCE tf out. She's thick but she can move like that. She can do two flips without losing her breath, She doesnt have to rely on her gymnastics to win a lip sync, she's lip synced twice but she outdo herself everytime, and she's breaking lip sync curses. Her lip syncing skills is just as valuable as Q's sewing skills so It hurts to see haters coming for Mhiya.

The show has decided that this is something all the queens should be able to do. The reason why I’m fucking with Mhiya is because she’s not just bad. She’s been in the bottom 3 times and gave incredible lip syncs, she has a win, and a top placement. Not only is it a wild track record but she’s also an interesting story arc that I’m unsure of how it’ll end. It’s also entertaining that she’s winning these lip syncs doing the so called curses the fans believe will get you eliminated.

Imma need people to be serious..... plasma looked a MESS!! All capital letters!!!! and mhiya ate her in the lipsync, if it was a closer call production could've rigged it for plasma but this was a murder
Mhiya def slayed that lipsync and there was no way she should've been eliminated even if Plazzy did better standings-wise. I do think Nymphia should've won this challenge as she actually presented something Neo goth themed. No shade to Q that was a lovely garment, just not what the challenge asks for, not another panty out on the runway, and not another non-wig runway.

@@gabnel1000 Incorrect, the judges literally complimented both Dawn and Nymphia on the details. They may have not read well on Camera but the judges def saw in person. Carson and Ru specifically brought up the different textures and fabrics like the stoned lace and feathers etc. for Nymphia and the architectural elements of Dawns. Ru makes wack choices sometimes but you're right, we just gotta move on.

I personally believe Mhiya will win the next challenge based on her lyric development and choreography during the girl group challenge she is going to perform really well
Honestly, the only thing I'm upset about is the double-standard for the final lip syncs - because clearly Q's track record was enough to save her even though she lost the lip sync itself, yet this week Plasma's equally-good track record suddenly *wasn't* enough to save her. It almost feels like the producers realized that they went too far saving Q, and felt like they needed to show fans that they weren't gonna make a habit of ignoring the lip syncs.

It's not a double standard. Amanda did not wipe the floor with Q. She barely won. One could argue that she didn't even win. Q didn't deserve to leave that early. On the other hand, Mhiya demolished Plasma.

Mhi'ya is Ru's favorite. She broke so many unwritten rules with the lip syncs that have sent other queens home, but not Mhi'ya. Hell, I'm sure if she burn the set down, Ru would still save her.

I see what you’re saying about plane and I was also a little turned off by her at first but I realized she says these things in the dryest tone with like no real meaning to what she’s saying that it makes it hilarious. I'm so worried about Nymphia now. She devoured this challenge and deserved to win it, and if they want to push a queen they usually give them their flowers. Q's look was great, but goth? It was not. Nymphia absolutely deserved the win here, and her not getting it has me thinking they don't want to crown her in the end if she makes it there. :/

I think Nymphia can't win over Q this week bc she was obviously saved from the bottom 2 last week. If she was placed high in the snatch game she probably could have won this week.

I really liked the bows and back of Q's dress, the black on black made it hard to see some of the details on people's outfits until the lineup, sad to see Plasma go and I definitely think she should be on an allstars season, I can't believe Kaia is 22

i do not understand how a queen can take off her shoes one week, reveal a wig to a wig cap the next, and not even sew her own dress which was the entire challenge yet still STAY over a queen who had two wins and only fumbled once...
Because it comes down to the lip sync, which Mhiyah won fair and square. Also, there's no rule that a queen cant get help from another queen. Also Sapphira literally said she just explained how to do it to Mhiyah, and then Mhiyah made it herself. You all really need to quit this narrative that she didn't do anything. Also, its a design challenge, not a sewing challenge, and Mhiyah's design was better than Plasmas.
there are no rules that a queen can't take off her shoes or wig, lol. it's not like that's an instant disqualification, ru just normally doesn't like it. but if you turn the lip sync like mhi'ya just did, that's all that matters. she's not the first queen to take off her shoes or wig and still win
@@Ericairline in a sewing challenge the challenge is to sew your own garment. it would be like getting another queen to write your verse or snatch game jokes. Sapphira gave her the pattern and told her how to execute it. if you can not perform at the level that the other girls did (making their own gowns) then you should be GONE. as I stated Mhiyah did not win fair and square because she broke unspoken rules that have always sent girls home in past seasons.
@@jamesliggins891the rules are unspoken because it breaks the illusion. aside from that, Mihya's lip sync was messy and she relies on her tumbling each time. i'm pointing out Ru's choice to keep her as illogical and unfair to Plasma. ultimately, it is Ru's choice but fans are also allowed to disagree. it just doesn't make sense that these rules only apply when Ru feels like it.

The fun thing is that, had they used the REGULAR version of the song, since it’s a LOT slower and this gives less space for Mhi’ya to do her tricks, Plasma would’ve had a bigger chance of winning
