Excellent video!! This is the golden standard in which all informative videos should follow. I nearly bought my 5'8" tall, 130lb daughter a ttr125 and after watching the video I'm going to go with the 230! Thanks RM and team!!
We're glad it helped you out! Appreciate the comment. Tell your daughter we said congrats!-Chase
I have one. It’s a great bike and a lot of fun even for adults. If you are an adult or jumping I strongly advise you get the BBR skid plate/frame brace for it that prevents the lower frame from stretching. My other mods: tall seat kit, fastway pegs in lowered position, rox risers with pro taper Suzuki bend, ASV folding levers, Cyca ProBend guards, carb jet kit., BBR chain guide block. I also got heavier shock and fork springs. I’m 6’1”. It’s a hoot. Not fast with a big guy on it but a blast in the woods and the stock gearing ratios are super smooth and useful.
LostInPA, i need to see a picture of this bike. Sounds like a fully built race bike haha.
Great bike! Just got my son a '21 TTR125 LE ..he loves it. He's maintaining it perfectly. I added an hour meter ;). A super solid beginner & intermediate dirt bike for teens/adults
Awesome bike. Got a TTR90e for my son and it was a phenomenal learner for a 6-9 year old. He's huge now so it's a 2 stroke or this bad Larry. Leaning towards the 125 because it's a proven performer and low end maintenance.
I'm getting a 2003 TTR125LE tomorrow and this video helped me out with my height.
Im 5'8" 165# and just got a 2024 TT-R125LE. I love it so far!
I’m a 214lb 38 year old man and I cruise around on 2017 version that I got used for $2100. It’s a very fun bike and definitely capable.
How many litres it consumes per 60mile or 100km same
I bought a 2012 2 months ago, yeah it's pretty fun to ride.
I’ve been riding a 2008 try 125 for the past 2 months and I am really loving it Im 5’7 and I can actually bend my knees a little on the bike
I’m 43 ! Just sold my 2021 klx230 and buy this lil girl !!! Lol love it !
Great video, thanks.my is son 11. Can't wait to find one for him.
this video was exactly what i needed. my son is 12 also and same height. thanks for the info
Glad it helped you out! Thanks for watching-Chase
My son is 12 and the same height to lol
just bought a used one for my sons 13th birthday hes so excited to hop on it we just need to buy gear its the perfect size for him its his first bike
Just got my first bike it is a TTR 125le. It’s a great bike
How tall are you?
Awesome video! I have one of the small wheeled versions for my son, just needs to be fixed up a bit. It’s a great bike for young riders and just to mess around with on the trails!
Glad you liked it! Thanks for watching.-Chase
First I bike I ever rode, love it!
Right on!
Great vid!
Man, Ricochet must love it when these manufacturers keep putting "plastic" or "Pepsi Can" thin metal on bikes for skid plates. I mean, why put anything on them at all?
hey can you please do a ttr 230 cus I'm growing out of my crf 100 and need a bigger bike so ya
Excellent specs info & real world height reference
Thanks for watching! Glad you enjoyed the video!
I don’t have one but I’m planning on buying one and how do you use the clutch?
i loved this it helped me a lot!!
thx a lot👍👍👍👍👍👍
Bike looks sweet!
I want to get this bike to learn advance techniques that I wouldn’t want to do on my yz 250 like pivot turns nose wheelies log hop ect and I want I bike that I can do whatever I want with it
this bike is great I got it about a year ago
could you do a video on the kx85? would be greatly appreciated
Or YZ85 & RM85 pls!
I’m in my 30’s. I’m an intermediate rider and I’m only 5’2”... I feel like this is the perfect sized bike for me but I’m nervous people are gonna think I’m on a kids bike!!
They are great bikes and if it suits your riding style and you fit well on it, that's all you need to worry about. Don't be nervous!
I'd go for the full sizer. I currently ride a 250 2stroke and when I got it I was about your height. Of course, you have to think about your skill level before taking a massive leap, but don't feel afraid to go all out. Just one little tip though, get a 2 stroke, they're way more fun.
I am 33 and 5'4". Just bought one of these and I don't feel bad at all!
I’m 28, 5’10”/135lbs (+\-). I bought a ‘23 KLX140r almost two weeks ago now and it is perfect for my size speed wise. Now I did replace the Stock 14t front sprocket with a 12t sprocket to give me a little more acceleration. Which I would highly recommend, you can really tell the difference when riding trails through the woods. I would say don’t worry about anyone else’s opinion, they’re not the ones riding your bike so it ain’t there business. You ride what you want and like and how you want to. Safe trails bro ✌️
can you please do a review on a Honda crf150r. considering getting one.
Yes
The kids size helped thanks
I am 12 110 pounds and 4’11 and I was wandering if I can fit on it?
36YO 220 LB very experienced rider here. I've owned Hondas, Kawis, Yamis, Suzukis... As far as my current 2003 TTR-125L. Stall proof? Actually, it is very hard to stall the TTR for an experienced rider. Technical riding? Yes, it is VERY capable. I had this bike flipped on top of me 14 times on one enduro weekend ride cutting new trails and rode away every time. I wouldn't even try to jump this bike, the throttle response and torque are way too low and shocks way too soft. Overall, the TTR 125L has proven to be an extremely reliable bike. My other bike is an 08 YZ250F and its in a completely different ball field. I was die hard Honda until I got the TTR for $800. Tried my best to kill it. Trails I cut with Honda and new trails. It's why I got a YZ250F.
i am 14,176 CM ,i have thhe bike for 2 years,it was perfect for me to learn how to ride on it,i think on this summer i will sell it because now its a bit small, and iwill buy a 250MX bike, perfect bike for beginners, kids under 15,or beginner adults who is under 175CM
I’m 18 Im a shorter rider at 5”3 this bike is the perfect size for me as a beginner
Nice lecture leonel
Please do a ttr 230!
Hey will u guys ever do a video on a 230 for a kids bike?
My 13 year old brother is on a kx250f he's about 5'
@@connortidman6925 You have a good bro
Connor Tidman if he’s 5’ I highly doubt he’s on a kx250f 😂
@@490Adrian yea lol im 5’7 and can tip toe and a
250
@@isaacmillermusic23 yeah 5’7’ not 5 foot 😂
would someone who is 5ft be an ok fit
How do you straighten the wheel after a crash? It doesn't have the pinch bolts on the axle.
Rhys Tomney there are 4 clamps on the forks. Loosen the bolts and straighten to your preference and tighten the bolts
I am 5foot6 and I am 23 and I have the 2014 model and I love the bike they are good to just to muck around and chase the kids around and I don't see why you need a big 250 or big 450 when you got a bike that does all the same things as what the big bikes around the world and I was looking at the Honda crf125 and the only reason why I went with a Yamaha is becuase it has 5 gears I wanted the extra gear and I don't regret it
Hey how much do you weigh?
What did you pay?
I just need info on a good bike for a 12 year old that’s 5 foot 3
I am 13 years old and 150 cm tall or
A Yamaha ttr 125 would be good for me?
Will the aftermarket T-10 7/8 aluminum bars fit in the stock clamps for this bike?
Yes, this bike comes with 7/8" bars from the factory.
He so when he says we have updated the bars and stuff is that on all of the bikes they sell or just that one pleas reply soon
That is just for this bike. We add some parts to show what's available and some good upgrades.
What’s the shifting on this
Hi, I am 13years old, 105 pound, 5’2 and was wondering if this would be a good bike to upgrade too, I am getting to big for my crf110 and wanted to try Yamaha. but I don't want to out grow the bike fast! I would appreciate any recommendations from you or others!
It would be fine for you
Do guys sell good pegs that won’t break the bank for a 2019 model?
We only have one option for that bike but they are much less expensive than a lot of other pegs and will be a big step up from your stock pegs.
You can check them out here: www.rockymountainatvmc.com/parts/ims-superstock-foot-pegs-p
If I buy the normal version with 17 14 inch wheels can I change the wheel size to make it into an l version
There are other parts that would need to be swapped as well, like the swingarm, front brake, and rear shock. There are quite a few posts on forums showing exactly what is involved in changing a TTR125 to a big wheel version.
2017 TTR125 le how to Install spouts on the front 19 inch wheel?
We have a video showing how to lace up a wheel that you can check out here: ua-cam.com/video/DeBEXq2dGnU/v-deo.html
What year ttr were u reviewing looking for one and I really like that design and features
The bike in this video is a 2015 model but this motorcycle hasn't changed much since 2008.
Thanks I’m looking at 2016’s rn and it looks very similar
Hey what do you recommend for my son that’s 12 years old 5 feet exactly and 120 LB
crf 110 or crf80
No go with a 125cc 4-stroke if your Honda fan get crf125f or if you like Yamaha like me I would go with t-tr125le, etc
best three grand i ever spent
I have a 2004 Yamaha ttr 125
My ttr on the ground is at where his waist his. Actually maybe a couple inches taller
I broke my kickstarter and i dont know what size it is. Is it 13,14,15,16 mm and where to get a new one
Your best bet is to locate the part you need on the OEM parts diagram. I'll post a link to it below:
www.rockymountainatvmc.com/oem-parts
Who knows a good bike to rip around Arizona thinking a ttr125, 140L, or 150 sx
San Clemente moving to Lake Havasu City soon though
I live here too and I have this bike
What model tusk bars were used on this Ttr125?
Also would like to know. Need a taller version than stock and there’s a few options of tusk T-10
Sooo now that I've watched both reviews,,,,Yamaha ttr125 or Honda CRF125??? Is it personal preference or is there really a better quality bike outta the two??? Which one folks??? Pros or Cons of each?
That's where I'm at wonder the same thing did you get one over the other?
@@larsl3186 I have a tw200...
Probably the biggest & only CON really for me is the speed. Being SoCal, I either gotta take backwards to any good riding places/trails or put the bike on back of my truck and take it out to ride that way. Riding on highways or freeways just isn't safe and requires you dogging the engine out to keep up with traffic..I'm not that guy who wants a line of traffic behind me cussing me because I can't continuously go 60mph..
I’m 14 and 5’6 would I be a good fit for a bike I’ve never rode a dirt bike in my life so I don’t want much power until i get better
At 5'6 this bike bike is probably going to be too small for you and you're probably not done growing yet. I would check out something like the Honda 230F, Honda CRF250F, Something with a 21 inch front tire and an 18 in rear.
Rocky Mountain ATV MC but I’ve never rode a dirt bike before and I don’t want one that’s too powerful
Unreleased Hip Hop Maybe check out a ttr 230 it should fit you well and it’s not to powerful good sized bike
I'm 14 5'8 126lbs and I ride a 2002 cr 250
I’m 15 I ride a yz450f
4 foot 7 i use meters
Hi I was wondering if you think my height would be to tall for this bike. I’m 5’7.
griffin taylor Do u think the ttr 230 would be a good size for me??
griffin taylor oh ok thx!
Check at a dealer ship
Just saying, Corbin should be on something different (I mean his size, not by skill or anything else). Of course, it depends on the skill level and type of riding that they do, but somebody who is 5'3" could probably handle a big bike. I personally don't ride any track, but instead, race hare scramble/ enduro races. Just for a bit of reference, for anybody thinking about picking up a bike for a kid or themselves, I am 5'3", in middle school, and ride a 250 2smoker. I know it sounds like a lot but I ride a full sizer a whole lot better than a supermini size. Anyways I just wanted to help anyone who was thinking about sizing for heights and stuff.
Is $1500 good for an 09 125e? It also has a full FMF exhaust system.
FaXe_Legend yeah
theboy Yeah I ended up getting it.
I've got the 125L , does anyone else have short gears with this bike
Yes 1st is pretty much nothing, good for climbing steep hills
How to purchase this bike
I’m 5,6 do you think I’ll be comfortable?
Also I’m 130lbs
Later on this year I’m getting a ttr 125LWE
Same but I can’t find any graphics for it
Can you make this bike fast enough to race?
I wouldn't recommend it.
I’m wondering if I can Kick start it?
depends on what bike i’m pretty sure you CAN get the 125le with a electric start so it would be easy to get a kick start one
Will it be a good size for a 4’11 rider
no its a little big you should get a crf100
I’m 5’4 could this be a good beginner bike for me?
Yea good bike I got one
Jacob gamer123456 I’m 5’8 how about me
@@bigratty5202 probably not unless you get bigger tires and stiffin the suspension I'm 5'6 with boots and I can flatfoot my 2020 ttr125
Jacob gamer123456 yeah what do you suggest for a good beginner bike as I wanna get into riding for someone my size
@@bigratty5202 idk your pretty tall for a beginner bike I'd go with yahama 230
I'm 5'5 what's a good home for me
Im 5'10 183 and im looking into getting this bike can I raise it someway to fit my height
You could look into a tall seat but its probably not worth the cost and time in changing out the suspension. You would be better suited on a little taller bike like the Yamaha TTR 230 or Honda CRF250F.
@@rmatvmc Thank u for the feedback much love bro!
Bs low maintenance mine had to get fixed all the time and it was expensive
Why?
I'm 13 about 5'5 can I fit in a yz85
You can fit on about any bike TBH. I am a little shorter than you and the same age and I ride a 250 2stroke. You really don't have to worry about "if you can ride it or not" (physically), instead look for the brand you like, what suits your riding style, and most of all don't get anything to big and heavy or you won't be able to handle it right. Good luck!!
I'm five foot four
Is 5,3 to tall?
I am 5,2 and 12 years old and I wanna start riding dirt bikes,is this a good beginner bike
Yes, this could be a good size for you. Corbin, the kid in the video is 5'3.
Rocky Mountain ATV MC thank you
Would this be good for a 6,3 151 pound guy
No, 6,3 is way too tall for this bike.
Thanks for the help I still haven't found a dirtbike
I’m 4’11
I bpught attr 125 l from 2007 and i am 14 and 6 months, its very good, i wanted a 250 but no, listen to me, 250 under 16-17 years old it's too much! Its too hard, too tall, too powerfull, even my ttr 125 is tall for my 12myears old cousin wich is pretty small, if,i let him keep the bike in a hill position he will drop it, so dont buy a 250! For first 2-3 years of riding a ttr125 is best option if you really want a 4 stroke, it sound good, its tall enought , its powerfull, in your first days of riding im sure you are not gonna accelerate it too much, and dont buy crf150 if you ride on dirt roads and hillsthe suspension is too hard, believe me!
How tall r u
Thanks for the info. David it will help with my decision.
Then you must be short, I'm 13 and can put both feet down on a 1981 yamaha 250 2 stroke. Just depends on how tall and how much you weigh
Bro wdym. I ride a 250 smoker and I am 13. I think it is confidence that is holding you back cuz at 14 you need to be on a mx2 class bike if not premier. Also I started riding my 250 one year after I first rode a dirtbike, so 2-3 years is BS
I’m ten and five foot one would it work please reply
Cooper Topol this one
Thanks
Cooper Topol np
I'm 5'6, would this bike fit me?
I'm wondering the same thing man
Yes
You need to be on a bigger bike though, I mean dependant on your skills
Has anyone ever plated one of these?
I'm sure people have, I know a few people that have plated 230s, but then again they can reach highway speeds and you'd have to change gearing on this bike to get that.
I’m 5’3 but I feel like I will grow out of it too fast.
Pin Head Larry depends on your skill level on riding, these bikes are beginner bikes and are mainly for trail riding. They go around 45-50 mph. If you’re 5,3 then this bike is the perfect size for you. If you want something fast and for track get a yz85 or a crf150r
Thomas Tucker I’d be trail riding, but just from the time I wrote that comment I’ve grown almost an inch. So don’t want a bike I will grow out of within a year. I rode when I was younger on a crf 70, and I would wizz around my uncles field on full throttle lmao.
Pin Head Larry that’s good, a good bike would be a 125cc 2 stroke like a yz125, cr125, etc or a 250 4 stroke Yz250F, crf250r, etc
Thomas Tucker thanks dude. Me and my uncle are about to clean the carb, and clean it the old oil and gas from my crf 70s and put it into a new bike. I’ll keep this in mind
Pin Head Larry sure bro, can’t go wrong with a new bike lol I think I’ve gone through 3 within 3 years from growing. At 3 i started with a pw80 until I was 11 then at 13 I got a ttr125, then at 14 a yz250f, then at 15 a crf250r(with electric Start cause kick start is a pain in the ass)
I 5’0” foot
My dad thinks that this bike is too big for me, I’m 12 and weigh 115 lbs and I’m about 5’1
Do you think I could ride it I'm 12 and I'm 5'5
It depends on your skill level and riding style of course, but just saying, you have the height to ride about any bike out there. I am 5'4" and hardly older than you and I ride a 250 2stroke. You could definitely go more than a ttr125. At your height you don't need to ask if you can ride it or not. It is all about what you want, what you can afford, and if you've got the balls to ride it. Good Luck!!!
What year bike is this
I believe the bike in this video is a 2015 model.
Does it have a lot of meitnence
TTR125's are very reliable bikes that don't require much maintenance.
@@rmatvmc thanks so much I’m prob gonna get one for Christmas thanks
I’m 4’10 I have it
Omg whats ur age like are u a dwarf or are u a 7yr old ?
12th
What is 5 foot 3
height
i am 4-11 so would i fit on this bike?
You'll be right at the height that you can get both feet on the ground, so yes, this bike would fit you great!
I'd say your the perfect fit
Good Luck!
Can this bike be considered a pit bike?
Ya, It weighs a lot more than a 110, and of course the seat height is larger but I would still call it a kid/pit bike.
Is this good for someone 5'5?
This could be a good bike for you to start on at 5'5" but you may want to consider something a couple inches taller. If you watch at about 4:10 in this video we show a rider who is 5'3" sitting on this bike to give you an idea of how you would fit.
@@rmatvmc any other bike recommendations?
I have a question, does the powercore 4 fit the ttr 125 le?
Yes, the Power Core 4 does fit the TTR125! You can check it out here: www.rockymountainatvmc.com/parts/fmf-mini-power-core-iv-system-p
