Working out our salvation with fear and trembling is an individual responsibility. Surrender and continuous prayer allows the Holy Spirit to guide us on the narrow Path of Righteousness. Time is quickly passing and it is imperative that we live with a sense of urgency by fasting, praying, and studying the Scriptures. With faithful obedience and steadfast dedication to God, we prepare ourselves for King Jesus who is coming quickly.

It's not the Word of God that we doubt. It is the interpretation of Scripture that is the challenge. Case in point. Daniel 8:14 as taught in The Great Controversy and so in Seventh-day Adventist doctrine is a departure from the centrality of the cross as clearly taught in Scripture. When a leading General Conference editor can stand in the pulpit and declare that "Daniel 8:14 is the gospel," there is a major departure from the core teaching of Scripture which is Christ crucified. The greatest challenge facing the whole Christian church in this modern age is the centrality of Christ's finished work on the cross. Paul recognised the problem in 1 Corinthians 1 and 2. The divine truth of Christ's shed blood and death on the cross where God made Him who knew no sin, to be sin for us must permeate every doctrine of Scripture. (2 Cor. 5:21) Christ's full and complete atonement for sin on the cross is the only path to righterousness. In fact, this sacrifice of Christ on the cross was and is the greatest act of righteousness ever done by God. God in Christ dealt with all sin on the cross. From Christ's finished work on the cross, having been forgiven and cleansed, we become the righteousness of God in Christ. That is grace. That is the gospel. Daniel 8:14 is not the gospel.
1 Corinthisna 2:2" "For I determined to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ, and Him crucified." This one sentence puts all Scripture into the divine perspective.

How do you fit Hebrews 8 and 9 in the entire picture?

Sometimes it is simple to divine a lot of noise cloaking it in high sounding words. Elder Wilson is a clear speaking child of God we can have confidence in in espousing God’s word as expressed in the Great Controversy. I for one have no issues with what he has to say

    • @raysmith9650

@@prayerpower1585 We don't stop at Hebrews 8 and 9 to understand that Christ began His High Priestly ministry at His ascension, seated at the right hand of the Father. Hebrews 10, especially verses 19 and following explain the meaning of the rent veil in the Jewish sanctuary, at the moment Jesus died. We have a new and living way back to God, throught the veil, that is Christ's flesh, his shed blood and broken body on the cross. When Christ, the True Veil was rent on the cross, he became the great priest over the house of God, which according to Hebrews 9:24 is heaven itself, not one room of a two apartment building in heaven. That's why Paul and every Christian since the cross has been invited in Hebrews to come boldly to the throne of God to find grace. Christ's shed blood removed the inner veil of separation between us and God that was necessary under the old covenant. Nowhere does the book of Hebrews even hint at a time in 1844 when Christ moved from the first to the second apartment of a heavenly sanctuary.

@@vueneonee7144 I'm not sure how the book of Hebrews can be viewed as just "high sounding words." There's good reason why there are multiple versions of the sanctuary/investigative judgment doctrine out there in Adventist circles. Many brighter minds than mine have also realised that the sanctuary doctrine as taught in The Great Controversy is not what is taught in Hebrews. If you are happy with The Great Controversy version that's fine for you. For me, I prefer the clarity of Hebrews in the light of what actually was accomplished when Christ was crucified.
