I agree as well with Pastor Wilson's outlook. But l don't recall him using any scriptural backup (maybe one EGW quote). There's a ton of scripture to support his standpoint. He only suggested listeners to read Doug Batchlor and Mark Finley' statements. I was a student at Oakwood, and this recommendation could only add fuel to the already "rebellious" fire.

But to answer your question: I believe that I am saved for all eternity, because Jesus said in Jn. 10 that nothing can pluck me out of His hand or His Father's hand (and His Father is even greater). He also said in Jn. 5 that I will not come into judgment but I have passed from death into life. What other assurance do I need. It seems to me that your salvation is conditional. May I ask why is it conditional and what is it contingent upon?

We have been compromised for quite sometime when our Educational Institutions open employment opportunities to those they know, like, than to those that live and teach through the word of God. When our Institutions bring in Educators into the space of our Biblical discipline and practices, the gap becomes a crator. Our Institutions are not today, 2024 exclusively owned by Adventist, but shared with worldly contenders. Why? Why today of all times are we continuing to parlay with a watered down message? If you want to focus on entertainment in the worship service there are plenty of other denominations offering that. I come to honor and learn about God, not to do mindless “praise” chanting, shouting, and insincere gesturing that elevates the participants instead of our Creator.
And, with respect,I feel convicted to mention that while man looks on the outward appearance and makes judgments based on behaviour, God looks upon the heart (as per 1 Samuel 16:7). Behaviour-regulation and conformity sadly has a long history within certain elements of Adventist leadership. How can one person judge whether, for example, a certain type of music draws another individual person's heart towards God in authentic worship or not? What if we undertake inspiring people's hearts to want to be closer to God rather than prescribing what we consider acceptable or unacceptable behaviours? As this video rightly quotes, "The more we behold Christ, talk of (unpack) His merits, and tell of His power, the more fully we shall reflect His image in our own characters and the less we shall submit our minds and affections to the paralysing influences of the world. The more our minds dwell on Jesus..." This is inherently a far more effective approach that will transform hearts compared with attempting to prescribe acceptable or unacceptable behaviours.
People have their individual path of growth and every individual is different. However, when it comes to corporate worship, there must be some standard that aligns with scripture and SoP. People cannot go up on the pulpit and do as they feel. While I support a variety of music styles to represent the various cultures, they still needs to be care by allowing the Holy Spirit to guide.

But I agree that corporate worship that is authentic will align with scripture - such as Psalm 150:3-6 where use of percussion instruments, even loud ones, and dance are upheld. But again, it is not about the specific 'style' - it is about the authenticity of the worshipers regardless of style. When you say that people cannot 'do as they feel', you are correct - if you mean do what they want to do merely because they want to do it for self-focussed reasons. This is a very different motive from someone authentically worshiping. Authentic worshipers, as you have said, are people who are fully surrendered to God and therefore led by the Holy Spirit. Thus it is a heart of surrender that is the important necessity rather than upholding of prescribed standards.
The truth is the truth. We cannot fight truth. We need to have the mind of Jesus. When Israel turned away to idols God sent prophets. In our days God have given instructions through the Bible and the Spirit of Prohecy. Pastor Wilson is upholding Bible truths and the Spirit of Prophecy. Let's us pray for our Church and our leaders. I would propose that this was because Israel, having been under slavery and subjugation for 400 years, was very 'immature' and therefore, like young children, initially need behaviour regulation until they are gradually able to develop progressively greater maturity. Yet when Jesus came to earth, He did not use this same methodology with the people of that time. Instead He spent time nurturing people and helping grow their understanding about who God is so that they would be 'drawn' to want to live a different life. Prescribing behaviour change is an easier approach than seeking to nurture heart-change. The institutions of the world follow this approach - and sadly the institutions of Christianity also fall in to this pattern at times.
Our Educational Institutions through Administration and Educator are not exclusive but shared with the world. There is a lack of requiring that the conduct and character of Christ is to attain. If we were given the charge to be the head and not the tail why are we sharing the entities God had blessed us to have with the world and by many allow them to teach our children???

And I add from my own experience with live and recorded presentation etc. If we/you are not to use any of the trappings of manipulative moderm media and presentation etc - then, ditch the stage dressings, attractive blue backdrop, stage lighting (and the use of a stark difference in lighting between audience and stage to focus attention on the speaker) , lights aimed at the audience, video screens, high end video production. And this is only what the video shows. Now, give him a modest stage, 1 microphone and an adequate PA system. Only house lights. Ok, maybe one camera to record . Your not allowed anything "fancy". I'm not advocating full blown over the top high-class extra terrestrial production - but - there is a time and place for decent well designed and purposeful presentation. And don't use bad presentations to justify your argument. Yes, satan can use these, but God can do it much better because He created all of this.

I would love to hear him speak on members who disrespect Pastors. Removing them from office. Over the years I saw Pastors and their families lived in fear of certain members. Lord help us🌻💕🙏
We pray for these pastors and visit with them and offer consolation as Christians. Remember sister white said everything that can be shaken will be shaken. So keep them in prayer and pray for those members too and help them change or reform, that is if you can talk to them but also keep jude 22-23 " And on some have compassion making a distinction: but others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire, hating even the garment defiled by the flesh"

As for non sdas preaching on the pulpit,I think he is right. I these last days, to promote ecumenism (sp),dominations are sharing pulpits. This is in preparation for the Sunday law. Please let us study God's word and open our hearts. Romans 12 states that we are not to be of the world. Why would I want to look like the world and loose heaven?

This is the reason why I got confused when Pastor Melashinko in one of the reunion concerts of the VOP allowed the song "It's now or never come hold me tight, kiss me my darling, Be mine tonight" this song was played by a violin" For me this song is not appropriate in the program.

But to answer your question: I believe that I am saved for all eternity, because Jesus said in Jn. 10 that nothing can pluck me out of His hand or His Father's hand (and His Father is even greater). He also said in Jn. 5 that I will not come into judgment but I have passed from death into life. What other assurance do I need. It seems to me that your salvation is conditional. May I ask why is it conditional and what is it contingent upon?

Yes, Pastor Ted is right. There are dancing styles that are finding its way in the Adventist Church of which we imperceptibly fail to render reverence to God and rather entertain ourselves. This is a specious tool of Satan and we must not give it a ticket into God's remnant church.
You'd be surprised at how many Adventists will allow just about any form of so-called "worship", with the only defense being-->just as long as they're in the church. No scriptural support for these unholy actions. Worship these days is little more than a circus in the name of Jesus. We are to "make a difference between the holy and unholy" (Leviticus 10:10).

If you want to focus on entertainment in the worship service there are plenty of other denominations offering that. I come to honor and learn about God, not to do mindless “praise” chanting, shouting, and insincere gesturing that elevates the participants instead of our Creator.

And, with respect,I feel convicted to mention that while man looks on the outward appearance and makes judgments based on behaviour, God looks upon the heart (as per 1 Samuel 16:7). Behaviour-regulation and conformity sadly has a long history within certain elements of Adventist leadership. How can one person judge whether, for example, a certain type of music draws another individual person's heart towards God in authentic worship or not? What if we undertake inspiring people's hearts to want to be closer to God rather than prescribing what we consider acceptable or unacceptable behaviours?
As this video rightly quotes, "The more we behold Christ, talk of (unpack) His merits, and tell of His power, the more fully we shall reflect His image in our own characters and the less we shall submit our minds and affections to the paralysing influences of the world. The more our minds dwell on Jesus..." This is inherently a far more effective approach that will transform hearts compared with attempting to prescribe acceptable or unacceptable behaviours.
People have their individual path of growth and every individual is different. However, when it comes to corporate worship, there must be some standard that aligns with scripture and SoP. People cannot go up on the pulpit and do as they feel. While I support a variety of music styles to represent the various cultures, they still needs to be care by allowing the Holy Spirit to guide.

But I agree that corporate worship that is authentic will align with scripture - such as Psalm 150:3-6 where use of percussion instruments, even loud ones, and dance are upheld. But again, it is not about the specific 'style' - it is about the authenticity of the worshipers regardless of style. When you say that people cannot 'do as they feel', you are correct - if you mean do what they want to do merely because they want to do it for self-focussed reasons. This is a very different motive from someone authentically worshiping. Authentic worshipers, as you have said, are people who are fully surrendered to God and therefore led by the Holy Spirit. Thus it is a heart of surrender that is the important necessity rather than upholding of prescribed standards.
The truth is the truth. We cannot fight truth. We need to have the mind of Jesus. When Israel turned away to idols God sent prophets. In our days God have given instructions through the Bible and the Spirit of Prohecy. Pastor Wilson is upholding Bible truths and the Spirit of Prophecy. Let's us pray for our Church and our leaders. Yes, I believe that regulations can only change the outward behavior and not the heart. Only the holy Spirit can change the heart. However, there still needs to be standards. Even the sanctuary had standards that God prescribed to uphold order and reference - Leviticus.
Things that were done at festivals outside the sanctuary were not permitted in the sanctuary.
@@anng7514 You are correct that God (pre-incarnate Jesus) prescribed 'standards' for the sanctuary in Leviticus. I would propose that this was because Israel, having been under slavery and subjugation for 400 years, was very 'immature' and therefore, like young children, initially need behaviour regulation until they are gradually able to develop progressively greater maturity.
Yet when Jesus came to earth, He did not use this same methodology with the people of that time. Instead He spent time nurturing people and helping grow their understanding about who God is so that they would be 'drawn' to want to live a different life.
Prescribing behaviour change is an easier approach than seeking to nurture heart-change. The institutions of the world follow this approach - and sadly the institutions of Christianity also fall in to this pattern at times.

If we/you are not to use any of the trappings of manipulative moderm media and presentation etc - then, ditch the stage dressings, attractive blue backdrop, stage lighting (and the use of a stark difference in lighting between audience and stage to focus attention on the speaker) , lights aimed at the audience, video screens, high end video production. And this is only what the video shows.
Now, give him a modest stage, 1 microphone and an adequate PA system. Only house lights. Ok, maybe one camera to record . Your not allowed anything "fancy".
I'm not advocating full blown over the top high-class extra terrestrial production - but - there is a time and place for decent well designed and purposeful presentation. And don't use bad presentations to justify your argument.

True., the dancing we see these days can be a source of distraction from the solemnity of the message in song. Instead of listening to the message in song, we concentrate on the display of dancing styles and who does it best. Our churches are fast becoming entertainment centers.

It is impossible to estimate too largely the work that the Lord will accomplish through His proposed vessels in carrying out His mind and purpose. Let's talk about The Sanctuary. Where in the Bible do you see dancing and clapping in the Sanctuary? David danced all the way until he reached the portable Sanctuary. Did you read how angels cover their face before GOD? How do they bow down to Glorify HIM? In HEAVEN their will be one way to worship. Not my way either your way but GOD'S way. Read Revelation.
We worship God we dont entertain God for God says its in your quietness that i listen to you for your loud singing and prayers are noise to my ears. There are verses to surpport this.
