I wonder if you could oversize them a little bit and then pour epoxy countertop coat over it to stop the plywood from chipping away with use. Its a ingenious system you’ve got!
Thanks. That's a really good idea. That or a wood hardening product. Not sure how well it will work since the wood has soaked up a lot of lube over the years. Rebuilding the missing bits would be the best place to start.
