- The late 60's and early '70's were a time of tremendous upheaval in American culture as the hippie generation abandoned the values of their parents, turned to drugs and away from materialism, and went on a search for love and peace.
It was out of this tumultuous era that young, musical voices began to surface. These newly converted musicians began singing about the new hope they had found through Jesus Christ.
Andrae Crouch was one of these young voices. Go behind the scenes with him to look at this exciting era in this clip from, "First Love".

Andraé Crouch is not just a gifted composer and a musician, he is a man who takes care of his fellow man with love, even a stranger like me. G-d bless him.

His testimony touched me so much I now have tears in my eyes. What a way God has with people. If only people will take the time to be quiet and listen. But is this greedy, scientific world people have hearts of stone.

This comes from the amazing 'First Love' dvd - best thing of its kind for the spirit and overeview of the Jesus People movement and its music. . . . manages to move me close to tears (if not more!) every time I put it on . . .

What an absolutely wonderful testimony to God's love through Jesus Christ. I hate to tell you ProheticObserver, but in the Old Testament instruments WERE used and people DID sing. If God had not meant for us to he would have never given some of us the ability. God gave me my talent as a pianist and singer, and I've used it to bring people to Christ. Judge not lest ye be judged. Andrae Crouch has a wonderful music ministry. God bless him.

God is good all the time
First Love is a good video, it doesn't bring back the fire and passion that these same artists had in the early 70s, but it is not the producer's fault, they did the best they could. The truth is most of the artists brought together for this video have lost the fire of the Holy Ghost they once had. But Andre did a good job in sharing from his heart on this video. Buy the First Love video, it is worth it.

+fred cedric Issola - not so young, he was part of a generation ahead of us by the 70s - it's one of the Randy's (Stonehill, I think), who talks of him being a spiritual father and guide to many of them, who were just youngsters back then. . . . check out the dvd - really worth it, folk!

I would beg to differ...if you know your bible you would know that after the hebrew children crossed the red sea they danced and played instruments and sang victoriously before the Lord...they were not ashamed to revel and give it their all in their worship.
I can feel your zeal but I am sorry to say you are misguided mr. observer. Heaven is not a quiet place at all. Search the scriptures Sir!! Many have been encouraged, lifted up and come to Jesus through Andrae's anointed music. You may not like the man but do not accuse him of those serious charges.
