It was a prototype shell that was essentially an 88mm round with a sabot shell (non-discarding) to make it fit and go faster in the 128mm barrel. Sorry if my explanation sucks I don't really understand the mechanics behind the shell I just use it cos it has more pen than the standard shell. (Update): The Germans really didn't use it cos it flew so fast (and cos the shell had a problematic cap) it kept shattering on impact so they had no armour pen values for it only how much armour they think the shell would go through.
