Awesome video! There’s a lot of misconceptions about this career path. Nothing worse than a family member asking what’s the best stock to buy right now lol.
Thanks for sharing awesome tips! I'm financially free and currently growing a solid retirement plan. It takes a positive and consistency to learn new things, unlearn the old habits Ms important to get a mentor/coach to lead you all the way. It's great to start young too!
@@John-ly8ky Personally I think 1m is the goal to overcome inflation and having them in an investment portfolio is a perfect plan. I'm halfway to my goal 😇
@Priest Lee yeah. Fees and commissions are factors to look at in search for financial advisers. There's financial experts out there who do not look at their fees but the impact and intrinsic value they bring along to you no matter how little you want to start. I'm glad I had one guide me start my financial journey
@Christabel I work with Rachel Blanc, her services are cost effective and very efficient. I recommend her to anyone, anytime any day. she's really great You can do your own due diligence
Going back to college to be a financial advisor. I’ve always been into finance and investing. I struggled with bipolar since the age of 18. I’ve become stable and my parents are gonna give me a hand by staying with them to finish my associates. I have 31 units done. Investing has always been my passion and I can’t wait to get back into college in January! Thanks for this video!
Lol the last two minutes. I do tax prep now and it is seriously like being a therapist. Grateful I went through some shitty times to be able to help others going through it. And so glad I have tax knowledge! Thanks for the info.
New goal has been added onto the list. Become a single, not married financial advisor. The best for last got me hooked. I am an accountant, so I think once I become a Chartered Accountant there may be a similar effect. I just need to hit up a gym and get some muscles until then. The downside of being an accountant is unreasonable hours. I am literally on meds to try maintain the level of anxiety and prevent my nervous system from collapsing.
I like the point about not knowing how to actually invest. That’s so true some of the most successful advisors I met in my career came from non financial backgrounds and didn’t really know much about the market other than real basics. Long story short I left the industry. 😅
Thanks you for this video, it was very helpful. Since you said tax is so important, I’m wondering you you think it’d be beneficial to be a CPA as well as a CFP. Would it increase the opportunities that are available? Would it increase the value I could bring to a client? I’m an undergraduate finance student wanting to be a financial advisor with the long term goal of eventually owning my own firm.
To all financial advisors out there, we express our gratitude to all of you! Thanks Aj, we appreciate you sharing these 7 tips with us. My favorites are the last two. I'm just curious about where and how you create leads that attract more clients and prospects?
The reason I ask.. I’m seriously considering becoming a cfp but I also have a family that I want to make sure I spend time with. I’m concerned about the work life balance
Hello AJ, are you currently still a financial advisor? Currently I work in operations at a broker dealer and I am about to pass the series 7. I would like to move forward my current position since it is more back office and customer service. Did you need any other qualifications besides licensing?

Yes, yes, and yes! Taxes are so important. The CPA would be great to have.

Mostly just referrals from existing clients.

I've got some money and would like to Invest in stock market or some advise.
Great ending 😂😂
Is there a fear that AI will replace the CFP role in business? If not, why?
No. It might replace portfolio management, but it can't replace personal service. Part of the CFP role is a human connection.
@@straighttalks-ajsrmek323 understood! Thank you. How many hours is the industry average that you will work as a FA?
The reason I ask.. I’m seriously considering becoming a cfp but I also have a family that I want to make sure I spend time with. I’m concerned about the work life balance
@@DillonHendren If you get in with a good wealth management group you wont work more than 50 hours per week. Email me if you want to talk about a job.
Last two minutes show how great he is at prolonged b.Sing lol
Hello AJ,
are you currently still a financial advisor? Currently I work in operations at a broker dealer and I am about to pass the series 7. I would like to move forward my current position since it is more back office and customer service. Did you need any other qualifications besides licensing?
Yes i am, you just need the series 7 to start!
Last bit earned a sub lmaoo
LOL thanks.
Do you sell a lot of life insurance?
A few policies per year on average.
@@straighttalks-ajsrmek323 Thanks for the reply, love your videos man. I’m currently studying to take the LAH exam. Then it’s on the SIE and Series 7.
@@Jomomma336 Best of luck! And thanks for the support on the videos.
hahaha, hilarious, yes you are right, good looking guy for female clients and beatiful women for male clients!
I thought the last 2mins was serious for a second
LOL
I wish I had seen this video before 2019! 😅
LOL hopefully nothing bad has coming from not seeing it!!
Dude was tripping in the last two minutes
LOL
Why not invest your own salary
Yes, do that too.
What I got out of this video. If you want a large quantity of women: become a financial advisor 😂
LOL
last point, are you serious?
Nope
I never sweat. Lol. Wtf
As a woman will the men throw themselves at you? 😭
Oh most definitely. But only finance bros.
Without knowing anything, I feel like these are pretty obvious. If you didn't know these before becoming an FA, I feel bad for your clients
Not a fan of your lighting.
