- Lick Test Certified - We met up with Cody's Lab and he brought a HUGE 17 Carat diamond to see if we could cut it! Thanks so much to Cody's Lab for coming down and providing the diamond. If you haven't seen his channel check him out now. bit.ly/CodysLabYT --- Not convinced It's a real diamond -- • Is this Rock a Diamond? -- Also lick test certified...

Now doesn’t that feel better?
Mitchell Guessed it couldn't cut the diamond and Dan was confident that it would. Find out who was right.
What should we cut next? Look through all our videos in this playlist to see if we already cut it… bit.ly/WJvideos
We do a lot more than just waterjet cutting! Do you have an interesting idea for a video?! Let us know in the comments. It could involve a hydraulic press, a waterjet, welding, machining creating something, destroying something… let your imagination go wild. I want to hear some really crazy ideas! Seriously though, we haven’t gotten any really crazy suggestions yet.

Dry cornflakes in the bowl are harder than diamond.
Damn Cody.. You're on screen for 5 seconds and I already learned something new and interesting.
Was it a coincidence that the music is by David CUTTER?
Pretty sure it's intentional
Did you finally buy the 3 psi upgrade for your 60000 psi waterjet? ;)

“It didn’t even taste like carrots”😂
Julian C I just commented that before I started scrolling 😂 I laughed
i have analyzed the video frame by frame and calculated the velocity of the water and with the diameter of the nozzle i have calculated that the pressure is actually 60,004 PSI
Got memes? At 30.000003401 FPS
Nah its 59999 psi
Gewel I got some at 6969696.69 fps

This collab is something I've wanting to see , awesome !!!

If you saved your money for three years, you could afford to buy a few carrots of flawless.
Cody's lab at waterjet channel? I like it :D
TY Dan and Frodo :)
I think they both live in utah
Lick adds to the market value.
Yup, tastes like the comment section
Did you lick your monitor, or keyboard? Which would taste more like comment section?
Draygoes you must be alot of fun at parties
Draygoes licking the keyboard is not quite as effective as licking the monitor
He is fun at parties. You simply haven't been drinking enough to get it.
Best colab ever
I think cody looks better in this camera and lights!
COULDNT agree more lol
Cody?? What is this? A crossover episode?
Ali Syed Some kind of suicide squad?

Cody is awesome, please do more co(dy)labs :)
The problem with wurtzite boron nitride is that it's practically impossible to produce.
Gonna cost a lot on Ebay.
Piotr Noja yeah i don't think you're gonna get that on ebay. let alone anywhere else
Tushar Sadhwani no u just get it on eBay bro
Harry Walduck wurtzite boron nitride crystals don't exist. it exists in powdered form yes, but it doesn't have anything to cut then. it's just a theoretical structure
Ya looking? I have a lil I could ship your way for the right price. LOL
Awesome - I always love your videos!
Wow finally, two guys that I am subscribed too that do a collaboration, finally
God I love CodysLab, his videos are so interesting and amazing.
I could binge watch his videos in one night.
He's such a smart man, I hope he never stops making videos.
great colab and great video!!
Fun Collab, got here by Cody's channel. I may not be a genius like some people on Cody's channel but I see science shit, I'm all game for it. I see destruction using a highly powered jet of liquid, I'm game. Simple viewer here :D
I love how he says it must have hit something harder but there's nothing harder than diamond
That's insane! Never thought you could diamond with a water jet.
Molybedenum :D The text to speech finished it perfectly.
I wonder if a gem-quality diamond would hold up better since it would be aligned for maximal strength whereas this looks significantly more random.
Gem-quality would actually be easier to cut because of the cleavage lines. That's why diamonds used in industrial drills are are the same type as the one seen here.
wouldn't that depend on how you oriented the diamond for cutting? Like if you have it lined up right it would cut like butter, but turn it the other way and it should be more difficult.
I'm honestly surprised how quickly it cut through it (I've cut diamonds on a wheel and how you orient the stone in the dob is the difference between cutting quickly and scorching the stone from friction without actually cutting it at all)
I'm also wondering if the impurities in this stone weakened the structure.
More thoughts: diamond is hard but also highly brittle. The water jet isn't scratching it or grinding it down like a diamond dust embedded lapidary wheel - the jet is hammering the stone with water molecules. You can shatter a diamond with an ordinary hammer that would fail to scratch the surface when rubbed against it.
Yes, poly crystalline diamonds are actually 'tougher' than single or twinned crystals. They have interlocking structures that resist wear better than non-PCD. So, there is hardness (Like Mohs), brittleness and toughness. PCD is much tougher. Like comparing nephrite to materials with a similar Mohs hardness: Nephrite has interlocking strands and it resists wear and grinding a lot better than 6-6.5 stone with no interlocking structure.
I know that if you don't cut a diamond properly it can be impossible to polish. Orientation is key. They use lasers to cut diamonds now. Leaves a lot less waste and works by changing the crystal structure to graphite.
Not to be rude Kevin but wrong on everything you just said. I am a lapidary (Gem cutter).
"Tv's greatest crossover episodes, part 2"
Glad you guys are finally collaborating with Cody
I just want to say that Mitch makes me love this channel! He's so funny!! How he licks things and states the obvious.
Kinda surreal ..two realities combined
Did not expect to see Cody ! Sweet!
i have been watching cody's lab for plenty of years and when i saw his face i almost cried
Nice co-op guys!!
Yeah guys cody sent here, way cool. Cut some clear quartz up.

I didn't know you guys before, but cody brought me here. I'm glad he did, you two are hilarious! Subbed.
Cody and waterjet channel! Awesome!
Lol gotta love Utah UA-camrs.
3 psi overclock was needed to do this :P
Mateusz Szymczyk lmao
Cody's so cool.. hes smart AND can maintain eye contact and remain relaxed.. rare breed..
Nice crossover! Didnt expect lol
Politically correct diamond
I wouldn't know how to grade that diamond. LOL. The color is off the chart, and I don't think they have a Grade I100. Great video as usual!
Industrial diamond
That is what the jewelery industry calls an unrefined industrial diamond stone. If that truly is what they say it is even. Those stones cannot be carat diamonds because they are filled with impurities. So cutting it is far easier than cutting a true carat diamond.
Instant subscription. Thank Cody. You guys are hilarious though and now I wanna see stuff get cut.
Two of my favorite channels.
lol HE FLUSHES MERCURY DOWN TOILETS lol so funny the way he said that XD
thanks for hearting my comment :D
#37 on trending!? Great gob!
I friggin love it when I see Cody collab with other UA-camrs! :D
I am always so impressed by your musical choices for these videos
Thank Cody (whom can thank AvE) for my subscription
Same, and if I recall, uncle bumblefukc sent Cody a few rocks....still awaiting that video. Wait the rocks might still be at the border. I heard customs don't play nice.
*lick test* yeah thats diamond
Thanks guys for helping out Cody....just subbed your channel
! Two if my favorite UA-camrs at the same time!!
I love you guys
wurtzite boron nitride (w-BN), try that.
except that it doesn't exist
Oh yes it most certainly does! there's materials that existed back in 95 that were 50% harder than diamond. ONLY people that needed to know, knew about it.
So cool of you guys to give CodysLab a shoutout
Found this channel 2 weeks ago. Glad I found it you guys are awesome sending likes from Idaho!
What is this, a crossover episode? 😂😂👌😤
You guys are awesome and amazing and cool love your videos

Cody and waterjet, what an awesome colab!
I have been wanting to see this for so long
Um, what in the shit? I feel like someone snuck drugs into my ramen noodles, lmfao, the last thing I was expecting at the end of a Cody video was for him to suddenly appear in your guys little UA-cam universe. This is great hahahah
I have actually watched the mercury toilet video, this is a fun coincidence
Jackalovski when he floated himself in Hg was even better!
