hey do you mind helping me out, im a junior but im planning on taking nursing programs as I want to be a neonatal nurse. how did you get started on yours? and how long do you think it'll take you?
Facts! The investment is not matching the return. My good friend complains that she only got a .50 raise for advancing her degree to bachelor's. What an insult to nurses. Nursing is a calling, but education costs and cost of living aren't cheap, and are quickly rising.
Mrs Catherina is obviously the best, i studied her questions and answers just in 5 days and I passed, the materials she provided was exactly the questions I saw on my test day
Really, you'll know her Too? I even thought I was the only one she has helped walk through the fears and falls of NP Exam, MRS CATHERINA ALISON has brought me out of the trenches and to a better living, I encourage repeat test taker to work with her.
Its not about the money. The reason some people dont make it in nursing or quit, is because they went into the field for the wrong reasons. Do what you are truly passionate about.
TheNew Tomboy I agree! That's a part of the reason healthcare isn't quality anymore, because no one really cares about the patient, they care about the paycheck.
I’m soo lost on what career i want to go in and I’m 19 but I feel like yes I look at jobs for the salary because honestly that’s a priority for me then I look at pay I honestly feel like I would be great in this career I love to help others and make a difference with good pay so... why not 🤷🏾♀️I’m just scared I might change my mind I’m soo indecisive
Yes and no. You shouldn’t just go into it for money, but it’s totally fine if you’re not super passionate about it. Not everyone has desires of passion for jobs like others. Some people are just in it for something as simple as “I just like to help”
Money is a factor when unoversities are charging hundreds of thousands for efucating nurses... NP's should make a minimum of $150,000/yr, minimum. Yes, I tuped it twice. There are NP programs that cost over $100,000. Most students take loans out. They have to be paid back. Nurses are getting the shaft. This is a big reason that the field losses so many. The pay is not worth the abuse, health implications caused by the nurses working environment.
Yow! My aunt is a nurse as well in Seattle.. all I'm saying is-- No millions or billions can ever do justice to the amount of care and empathy you show towards your patients. Thank you, for not just being a nurse but a true hero. Thank you guys
@@johnohio2762 I’m sorry for your plight my friend but i was once in your shoes before i was recommended to Mrs Virginia Gomez and thats how i passed Nclex
I only studied a lot when i went for the first time last year at but the second time was so easy, all thanks to my aunt who introduced me to Mrs Virginia am really grateful
As an AG-ACNP student and CVICU/STICU Travel Nurse I can tell you guys this is not entirely accurate. Depending on your specialty, traveling can bring in at least 100k. I make $2600-2800/wk with $70-90/hr OT rate so you do the math! Mental health NPs make more then AGACNPs because there is such a shortage. And CRNA is not always the highest paid. I will be working as a CVICU AG-ACNP and Open Heart Surgery first assist NP. I’ve already gotten job offers for 160k and I’m in my 2nd semester of school. And finally to everyone who wants to be a CRNA, it’s very boring but everyone is obsessed with assumed pay, you HAVE to have at least 2-5 years of ICU experience! You will not pass the interview otherwise. Also a little inside tip for the future CRNAs, if you have your experience particularly in CVICU or STICU THEY WILL CHOOSE YOU FIRST!!!! These are the preferred critical care experience areas for CRNA school. Also become best friends with your respiratory therapist and learn ventilator settings. This will come up in your interview as well because as a CRNA you will intubate patients and manage their vents as well as sedate them. I recommend shadowing a CRNA for anyone who wants that career. GOOD LUCK future nurses!!!!!!!
Chris Sams you’re right! I’m surprised Travel nurses were number 9. I worked tele in Louisiana and was bringing home $2500/weekly after taxes. Also as a travel nurse you have the opportunity to work Nursing strikes which could pay over $5000/week for 5 days or it could just depend on how long the strike is. I know someone who worked a Nursing strike for four weeks and made over $50,000.
@@srjoyce3966 Nclex exam won't be a problem if you work with someone like Mrs Josephine....she's God sent, she saved me form talking the exam for the 6th time You can contact her for guidance 1_7_1_9_4_0_2_8_8_4_5
Selah sure! So after high school I went to a four year university and got by bachelor in science of nursing degree passed my nclex and interviewed for my job and got hired as a new grad straight out of school! The biggest thing that made me stand apart from others because it is rare to get my position right out of college is that I was building my resume while I was in school .... so I worked 2 jobs while I was in college at one point 3 I was involved alot on campus and my references were great advocates. I didn't think any body would care that I worked at Kroger since I was 16 but it was one of the first things my manager brought up during my interview, like she actually read my resume and that's something that she said stood out to her alot ... I worked at Kroger, was a resident assistant on campus and later became a nursing assistant as well, did Dean's circle at school nursing children summer camp, national black nurse association, and won a major diversity scholarship that obtains press coverage and what not while I was in undergrad. My manager pointed all that out in my interview and said it showed her I am a dedicated hardworking determined strong person
They are several programs in Europe that facilitate nurses from Asia and Africa to work here, if you were to contact some of the University Hospitals I'm pretty sure they could give you more details.
I am a retired registered nurse. I worked in my profession for 41 years. I have seen quite a few videos recently talking about how much money they make. Knowing the various roles a nurse can work , it makes me sick that money seems to be upper-most in the minds of many. You will find out that if money is your main ambition you will not succeed no matter how much you make. You need to have the passion and the "heart of a nurse" to be happy in your work. I wish you well.
I'm currently a pediatric oncology nurse technician at my local children's hospital (and a junior in nursing school), and a pediatric oncology nurse practitioner is my absolute dream job!
I am not in nursing..I'm actually quite the opposite in Law..but have cousins interested in nursing how do you keep your emotions in check working in such sad surroundings...that's why I could never be a nurse..I'm too emotional but the oncology dept for kids would just really leave me crying seeing the kids and parents go through such devastating ordeals..but its good ppl like you are around to help and provide such valuable care
Nice video though, even when you're not among the top 10 highest paid, with your investments you can be richer than top 1, I'm benefiting from my investments and I don't mind being the top last.. lol😀
@@marilynbarnes6754 I made a couple of investments but my investment in forex trading has been yielding good profits and I Don't think of stopping anytime soon
@Tiana Miller I had similar experience at first but I got to know better when I contacted an expert trader, he has helped me in making real cash from trading, I make weekly income with him
I've been a nurse for 24 years. It's been good to me and I still enjoy going to work every day. I had a similar conversation with a coworker who decided being a nurse was an easy way to make money. Number 1... it's NOT easy. Number 2... if you're doing it for the money, it will never be worth it. Nursing is a demanding career and if your heart isn't in it then you'll never get paid enough to make it worthwhile.
I've been a nurse for 19 years and you're absolutely 💯 right!! It's much harder than people think and you have to love helping people and have a thick skin to get through this career.
I don’t think these salaries are valid. It all depends on the state you’re working in. Nurse practitioners in Louisiana makes more than Nurse practitioners in NY. Moreover, NY floor nurses make more than nurses in Louisiana and Florida.
Kaitlyn Kareth for a moment I thought you said CNA, and I laughed. But then I reread and saw CRNA and then smiled because that is what my goal is long term.
I think she was giving a ballpark figure of the lowest rate of pay for these nursing careers. Because not only does the salary change from state to state, but employer to employer as well. I think she may have also reminded some of us about nursing professions that we may have forgot about or didn’t know existed.
I love that you made this informative video! Salary isn’t a secret so I love when this is wifely discussed. As some comments already said, some numbers are a bit off. As a current psych RN, I know Mental Health nurse practitioners average 130k-250k across the country regardless of location. This specialty is only represented in less than 2 percent of the NP population so stats on Psych NPs are often misrepresented or not represented at all when googling NP salaries. Keep up the great work and to my nursing students out there, it will be worth it!

I am a clinical trial coordinator, RN and the salary range is similar/slightly higher than the research nurse. Not only that but you still get to participate in patient care while staying up to date with the most cutting edge treatments. I absolutely love my job, didn’t even know 5 years ago that it existed
Do you need an advanced degree for this? Just earned my BSN and this is my first nursing degree but my third degree. I promised myself i wouldn't go back to school, lol
Meandria Baskin not at all. I have my BSN as well, I think most companies would accept a licensed RN. After some experience you can be certified in clinical trial coordinating too.
Another RN research coordinator here, in oncology. I also had no idea what the job entailed prior to being hired. Thankfully the doc I work with insisted on me applying for the job. No idea what “research RN” she is describing in this video, usually PIs, PhDs, professors, etc author journal articles for submission in addition to their regular job.
Travel Nurse and Pediatric Nurse Practitioner sounds so awesome to me!! Love love love kids...and getting to see the world while being a nurse?! You actually put me on to some travel nurses instagrams and I thank you for that! Love looking at the pros and cons!
I want to be a traveling nurse but I’m scared bc I want to have kids and meet someone that I love in my life time and idk about being a traveling nurse bc then ima be leaving my future husband and my future kids but at the same time I want to be one bc I LOVEE traveling and that’s my dream to become one but do any of y’all know is like we can quit being a traveling nurse and just becoming a regular nurse afterwards?
@@2256jajaja I know you asked this months ago, but to answer your question yes you can! As traveling nursing assignments are never very long term (unless your company has you renew your contract for an extended stay) you can do as many or as little as you want. If you decide to do it for 2 years while you’re single with no kids, then after those 2 years you’re ready to settle down; you can easily take your experience to your neighborhood hospital or clinic (whichever is your preference). I feel the same as you though, I couldn’t see myself living nomadic for too long because once I start having kids, I’m staying in 1 place so I may travel for 1 year just for the experience then go back home and become a stationed RN/LC. I hope that helps!
I just happened to stumble across this video. :) I’m an L&D RN finishing my nurse-midwife education next month! Thanks for being knowledgeable about CNM’s! I love when nurses educate about the different types of APRN’s because a lot of people have never even heard of CNM’s!
Watching your videos have me even more motivated and excited about nursing. Im about to start my freshman year in college to eventually major in nursing and wow. I legit cannot wait. Im binge watching all your videos
Selfishly I’m excited to see how high up FNPs are on that list! So many great options though. You can definitely make bank as a RN as well working the floor! Where I work, the floor nurses with 15+ years of experience make way more than NPs, which I love because it rewards and helps keep awesome nurses who love the bedside, to stay there!
I’m a senior in high school and for years I’ve told my self I wanted to be a chiropractor. But I decided to change my mind a study for something I love. Tbh I love babies, I love taking care of them, I love holding them. And many of my moms friends are NICU nurses. So I decided NICU was the way to go. I had no idea how much they made. Tbh I’m not doing it for the money, I actually no idea what they made. But I’ve been convinced this is the was to go this is my dream job and I can’t wait until I start college to study in the field.
i’m literally so young .. i just started high school. but i honestly love and enjoy watching your channel !! kinda gets me thinking what i wanna do w my life later on or at least an option/interest.
I'm so grateful you took the time to have this channel and share with us viewers. I'm a caregiver and a Psychology major very close to graduation but I'm contemplating nursing, I'm looking into starting off with the CNA program and gradually going forward.
Update!? I'm extremely curious to see how youve progressed. i am thinking about taking this route, i am currently a caregiver and dsp, i would like to remain in the same occupation, however i want to achieve my CNA then RN licensure!
Gerontology Nurse Practitioner is EXACTLYYYY what I want to be! I love old people so much and I truly believe that is my calling in life. Right now I am a CNA and have a LONG way to go but I am so excited. I am also currently in college and have a paper due Tuesday but I had to take a break from writing to watch your video! haha back to work now. You are such an inspiration to me and I watch all your videos ilysm!!
That’s exactly what I want to do as well. I worked as a CNA for like 5 years and I love working with old people. I start my NP program in January 2019 and I think I will focus on that
That is great...geriatric ppl tend to get crappy care in nursing homes...etc..and its sad bc if we live long enough..we will all reach that stage of life....its so sad when their is nursing abuse etc....its certainly not easy but they need compassionate ppl too...to care for them
I would also add military nurses. Our salary and benefits outweigh the salaries of most civilian nurses/NPs after 3 years in service. Plus, you get to serve your country and retire early. I love it!
I’m 13 years old and I’m currently about to start my last year in middle school and I feel like it’s best to prepare myself and know of what job i want for my future so i can be ready 😌♥️ thanks for making this video

There is another huge field you left out. Device Industry. I’ve been an RN for 21 years. All cardiac background. I moved over into industry 11 years ago. Ive been a clinical specialist for multiple different transcatheter heart valve devices. I am present during all the cases and instruct physicians on how to deliver and deploy my products and help screen appropriate patients via CT and ECHO. It’s a high stress position with a huge responsibility and travel. I make more than what you listed for a CRNA. Clinical experts are used in the majority of all implantable devices even outside of cardiology. Ortho, urology, robotics, general surgery ect.
Great info. There should be videos like this for all professions. Young people need to see videos like yours when trying to make career decisions. There are so many untapped, potential professions simply because people are unaware of them. Thanks for sharing!
I used to be deathly afraid at your age. One thing that helped me get over it was my love of money. I enrolled in a ragweed study for $800 when I was around 18-20 years old. I had to take something like a drop a day of ragweed a day to build immunity. They had to take my blood a couple of times and I did it for the money lol. But I realized it wasnt so bad. Getting paid for it makes it feel less horrible. And the fact that it was my choice to get it and not forced on me by a school or my parents helped as well. Good luck!!!!
Katierose Xx watch a ton of videos about injections and needles, you’ll get over your fear. Also, you can be afraid of getting poked and not be bothered when it’s someone else getting poked...
Back in the day, I used to be afraid too! After I started doing IVs and injections on other people, I got over that fear and now I no longer look away in fear when someone pokes me with a needle lol
I work in NY as a nurse.... automatically you start off above 75k...... and now im in school for NP BUT i can easily make 100k with overtime. But im too lazy but i have coworkers who make over 100k with 2 days of overtime a check ... basically working 5 days a week you are making bank
Same in TX. I easily make 75k while going to school full time and not working any OT. I also work night shift though and a lot of weekends so that adds up for me.
I was born and raised in Brooklyn and my family moved to Florida when I was 18. I'm currently in school for my ADN and I really want to move back to NYC. But my parents scare me into thinking I can't make it because of the expenses.
Kassi Bruce hi there, I would love to get some information about this. I am planning to move to TX and am passionate about pursuing a nursing career. Can you guide me about your journey in becoming one? Which city do you go to school in and what kind of nurse are you while you are going to school currently? Thank you so much, Sam.
I work in a nursing home and make more than my friend who is has her doctorate in FNP. Another friend of mine made 40k last month as a travel nurse. So....🤔🤷🏼♀️
Two additional points: 1. Nursing Administrators can make even more than CRNAs, so don't forget about CNOs and other administrative nursing roles. 2. Those considering the roles of CRNA or Midwife should factor in the cost of insurance. It tends to be quite steep for these healthcare areas.
So happy I passed NCLEX ! I also used ATI and RN Mastery and was successful 75 ?s first time! You are glowing in a different way I hope I now have that nursing school is done glow ! My goal is CRNA after working in the NICU.
Miss Courtney yay cool. I'm in my 3 rd so master of RN school and my school is a full partner with ATI. But I personally feel like ATI isn't helpful? Or maybe my instructors are misusing the he tools. I don't glean much from ATI and get more from the textbooks. But the textbooks are full of too much fluff and don't give me what I need to know. Sigh
As an emergency RN, make sure you research the city in which you want to work so you can compare pay rates. I live in Austin and, although we're a rapidly growing city with a huge census, we still get paid way less than RNs in Dallas or Houston. Scope out the hospital system (for or non profit, patient satisfaction scores r/t the hospital, etc)to see if it's even worth working there. Good luck to everyone wanting to get into nursing!
I agree Megan. I am in Nursing Leadership and I earn more than what she is quoting for CRNA's, but Nursing Leadership never even made the list of top 10???
I start my prerequisites in August 🤯 pray for me I got accepted into the Associate & bachelors degree for nursing. Oh I’m gonna be a busy guy with work and school and bills but I am blessed to be graduating high school early next week at 16 years old so 🤷🏻♂️🎓

It's really nice to be a nurse abroad. Here in the Philippines, the nurses in almost every hospitals are bombarded with a lot of work (just like every nurses do) and they're getting paid for approx. $500 a month and sometimes, their salaries are delayed bc the government doesn't have enough budget for them.
So excited to start my nursing journey! I will be starting pre-reqs this month and hope to be accepted into the program by fall of next year! I’d love to do labor & delivery or NiCU and continue into a NP or CRNA!!! Thanks so much for this video!
Nice video. Let me just say that in nursing, you’ve got to love it or you don’t. After that, the money part comes next. I a RN in NYC for 12 years now. I am a big critical care nurse. Like many nurses, I was inspire to go to CRNA, but did not work out for me... maybe not meant to be. Had all the requirements (CCRN certification, 3.8 GPA, etc... and was even working at a big trauma hospital where we did 4 code-ice per shift). Long story short, I applied to CRNA first time and did not get in, but was recruited to start a PICC team at my hospital. No regrets... very autonomous, well respected, less stressful, not so much of responsibility than other nursing specialties, and most of all, salary is equivalent to a nurse practitioner. Went back to school to get my MSN, but I’ve decided I will stick with being a vascular nurse since it is a very limited specialty and is very rewarding. PICC insertion is another game step for me in my nursing profession and I would recommend others to do it.
I’m a family nurse practitioner in Canada . I just got certified to do Botox and fillers ! Pay starts at 95,000 and goes to about 120,000 plus good government benefits . This is working no overtime . Take care ! PS: good video !
I’m a Gambia 16 years, old I’m in 11grade My dream job is to be a nurse but some friend used to tell me that nurses do less and is hard to have a good life been a nurse But I didn’t see that I love nursing and I wish to be a certified registered nurse
working in the NICU is my dream job! I was honestly so shocked as how much they make a year! Although, that being said, the money is an awesome bonus but definitely not the reason I want to work in that specific field!
Psych NPs make way more! New graduates make 135,000 with full benefits. I called about a job for 150,000 even after 1 year experience or new grad. Gotta love the psychiatric population if you want this though. I love love love love love being a PMHNP. They also make much much more than an FNP!
Working as a licensed practical nurse in an emergency room and really started thinking about being a CRNA. Didn't realize how much they actually made! Just knew it sounded amazing and it's going to take a lot of hard work to get there.
My mom has been pressuring me to go to school for nursing & I want to but there’s so many options ! I love your videos b/c I learn more & more about nursing , your videos are so helpful & informative!
I am one of the luckiest Neonatal Nurse working in Nursery ( stable babies) and Neonatal ICU ( critical cases). And I will never trade my work to any field ❤️
I’m going into nursing and I don’t understand why people say do what you love and not for the money. But how are you going to pay bills and take care of yourself and family? Long as you care about people and what you do you shouldn’t have a problem nurses make well off money and that’s why I choose to go into nursing and I will always love helping people. please stop telling people do what they love when you have to pay bills regardless of the situation
Im in an acute care nurse practitioner program AGACNP, your video was pretty accurate except the travel nurse thing its all about negotiation, I was making 75.00 per hour on a travel assignment plus meals and incidentals, I stayed with a friend and I banked the housing so at the end of the contract I actually made like 92.00 an hour when you added all that up, it was crazy for 13 weeks. Its really for someone who doesn't really require a lot of training/orientation (I worked MICU, SICU, Radiology and Burn, you may be asked to float to the other departments, but just be honest with your facility and let them know your scope of practice) You will also be required to pick up policies and computer programs very quickly your orientation might just be 3 (12 hour shifts with a preceptor)...that is not a lot trust me. As far as CRNAs a lot of schools are going the DNP route and they are requiring 2 years of ICU experience, critical care certification CCRN and GRE scores and the program is 3 years of full time class work, exams and clinicals but when you finish you have a doctorate of nursing, you also can NOT work during this time period as the program is too intense most schools offer stipends so look into that...2 years ago it wasn't like that at my school in Texas but things have changed. Because the market is so over saturated with FNPs most of my FNP friends are actually back in school get their AGACNP which is the only way most hospitals are hiring you as the clinics don't pay as much and they want that critical care experience. Vice versa my AGACNP friends who want to work ER are going back for the FNP which is the only way you can get the ER certification but it is what truly sets you apart from the other candidates. If you don't have atleast 2 years ICU and 1 year med surg experience I personally don't think CRNA school is a good move as I have been a ICU nurse for 8 years and acute care is super hard CRNA school is that x 10. Be honest with yourself and also consider that if money is your only motivation nursing is not the profession for you because it is so much more than money, but I would rather get PAID to take the stuff you have to take as a nurse, from physicians, to your colleagues, plus if your patient's taking lactulose and you have to change them 14 times during your shift you can't say I'm not changing them anymore, code brown will just be your buzz word for the shift and no matter how much they pay you wiping poop and changing linens is not worth no amount of money. It wasn't easy but it was the best decision that I ever made, just have a plan...If your a new grad, go right to neuro-tele work a year, then bridge to ICU and on your 2nd anniversary at the facility go take your CCRN test, study for your GREs work one more year and apply to CRNA school but not before then...If you don't have that kind of time go the acutes route like I did...I finish in December and it took 2 years, the second year I didn't work except PRN once a month at a level 1 trauma facility to keep my skills up..and even that was very hard but its doable if you stay focused.
My Psych NP cousin is on travel now in MN @ $100/hr. Hotel, meals, car provided. You are correct--Negotiate, Negotiate, Negotiate......Is the key to large bank account. its 6 months assignment for her.
Bravo! I graduated this month as an AG-ACNP. I certainly believe that anyone that survives this degree can certainly survive CRNA school. It was no walk in the park as I watched people flunk out each semester. This degree was even harder that RN school. So if you just barely made it through RN school, you will have a tough time in this program. I even saw people that were already APRN's flunk out. Took me 3 years in an on campus based program. Anyways, my graduating class had only 8 AG-ACNP graduates. PMHNP was 12 and FNP was 125. I was flabbergasted as FNP's are not finding jobs in this current market.
Gerontology nurses where I'm from make at least $450 per shift as an out patient care provider! It works up to about 200k a year! But honestly I don't do it for the money I love elderly people and you must have a gentle heart in this field as in all nursing fields.....
450 a shift times a 5 day work week times 4 weeks equals to about 9000 dollars times 12 months equals 108,000 a year. So are you speaking of working overtime?
So thankful for this video. I’m currently a Lpn and I start Lpn to Rn transition next year. I didn’t know about the gerontology np. I think this is my new career path. I have such a heart for the older population. Thanks for this video.
I'm currently working as a Health Care Aide and that is my stepping stone to get into LPN... I have so much passion in taking care of older patient. I think Gerontology nurse is my calling.
I’m an FNP in Arkansas, pay is not bad for this area. If I could take it all back I would do my CRNA as most of my RN experience was in surgery and I miss it. I work in a variety of different settings which is why I favored the FNP vs other NP specialties. I’m 4 classes away from my DNP.
I love this. The disadvantage of being a CRNA (although there really isn’t one lol) though is that the ceiling is the limit, whereas being an Adult Gerontology NP you can own & operate a practice within 20 something states currently that have moved towards granting full practice authority. They can earn well above 160 thousand a year. To my knowledge, CRNA’s won’t be able to do that.
It's wild to see the pay disparity between British and American nurses. The only way I would be able £76,000 in a year ( a rough conversion of $100,000) would be either to become a director of nursing, work entirely privately or just forget about sleep. I am working on my General Practice Nurse pgdip (family nurse practitioner) now and the pay is no where near that! I need to move!
New subscriber....Am blessed i found this channel I did a certificate in midwifery and now am in India pursuing an bsc nursing but I didn't have any motivation and hated my career and myself for it coz of the negativity...finding someone like you in the same profession and proud,of yourself is,a turning point for me thank you...I wish to talk to you more but not fro.,UA-cam.....sister you have changed my life I didn't even know what or which way to go in my career...God bless you
I'm surprised nurse professors was on this list, my professors always told me they weren't getting paid much lol. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE teaching though so even if they did make less that won't scare me off. When I'm in my late 40s I'll teach
Hello beautiful nurses... im a proud professional nurse. Even though some people will think low on our profession. raise ur hands up for those who are proud of being a nurse!
Surprised labor and delivery nurse didn’t make the list... although mid wife was on there. This is a great video, thank you for posting. Feeling so torn between L&D and Peds ....
It also depends on what part of the country you're living in. The pay rates differ alot especially if you're living in California or Hawaii where the average salaries are typically higher. It usually starts at over $105k for a hospital RN at job rate and going up from there. It's not uncommon for regular floor nurses in California and Hawaii to make $150k/year. But everything is relative and the pay scales to the area's cost of living.... A piece of advice coming from a nurse that worked in different areas....don't dwell on the money, it will come. The main thing is too make sure you enjoy what your doing and don't burn yourself out.
I am a family nurse and I deal with the continuity of care of chronic patients discharged from the hospital where they are hospitalized; I build them a rehabilitative care path in order to facilitate their return home. The patients in question are all those who have a chronic illness: stroke, heart failure / heart attack, all neurological diseases, comatose patients ... I see patients from the ICU to general medicines. in Italy I am one of those nurses who earn LESS 😞. I have three master's degrees and I have a second degree.
Putting it out in the universe, I WILL become a registered nurse ❤️

Its not about the money. The reason some people dont make it in nursing or quit, is because they went into the field for the wrong reasons. Do what you are truly passionate about.
TheNew Tomboy
I agree! That's a part of the reason healthcare isn't quality anymore, because no one really cares about the patient, they care about the paycheck.
Passion passion not money u right
I’m soo lost on what career i want to go in and I’m 19 but I feel like yes I look at jobs for the salary because honestly that’s a priority for me then I look at pay I honestly feel like I would be great in this career I love to help others and make a difference with good pay so... why not 🤷🏾♀️I’m just scared I might change my mind I’m soo indecisive
Pediatric nurse practitioners and NICU are my dream jobs

@@siboneyhernandez1592 depends on where u work, unit....specialty. Dialysis nurse can make 80 grand plus
NorCal RNs base pay is equals or more of CRNA of midwest and east coast . Look it up🤓

I WILL be a Neonatal Nurse 💗
Dymond B. Do it ! I absolutely love my career and will only trade it for higher education !!
Taylor Renee your a Neonatal Nurse? Can you please explain what you did after high school to get there?
Selah oh and that I can judge many different task at one time lol as a nurse time management is everything!
Prepare for a drinking problem bitches
I am a nurse in Africa and I make so little. Its so demoralising.
They are several programs in Europe that facilitate nurses from Asia and Africa to work here, if you were to contact some of the University Hospitals I'm pretty sure they could give you more details.

I am sorry 💀
Same in South America
Jamu Wairimu come to America they are well off here.
I wish you well.
you are absolutely right!!!. but money is as important as passion.
That’s true. But it’s okay to want to have a lot of money, we work hard and deserve THAT BAG 💰
@@channanextdoor515 it’s okay to aim to *earn* a lot of money. “That bag” is not what a career in nursing is focused on.

Started my pre nursing classes this term! So excited for the long journey I have ahead of me! Thanks for making such an informative video!
I don’t think these salaries are valid. It all depends on the state you’re working in. Nurse practitioners in Louisiana makes more than Nurse practitioners in NY. Moreover, NY floor nurses make more than nurses in Louisiana and Florida.
Shev Right
agreed, my moms friend is a crna and makes 400,000 in ny compared to the 160,000 she said in the video
Kaitlyn Kareth for a moment I thought you said CNA, and I laughed. But then I reread and saw CRNA and then smiled because that is what my goal is long term.
Absolutely correct. The Salaries depends on the State. Also, NY has too many Doctors. Don't need that many NPs and PAs.
Im a registered nurse and Im pursuing Medicine now. I would just like to say that nurses rock ! and its one of the noblest profession out there!

Jill Christiansen This is so cool! Definitely something that interests me!
How can you pursue this type of nursing position? What experience or certifications are required or preferred? Thanks

This is exactly how I feel too :)

K Maahs74, sounds interesting how do you get to do that? What training do you need?

I’m only 14 and I really want to be a NICU nurse even though I’m afraid of needles/ getting injected but I’m hoping to overcome the fear
You got this girl same I would love to work in the NICU
@Katierose, blood and needles will not be able to deter you from your dreams. Go for it!

I’m beginning to be excited to jump into this new plan in life
So happy I passed NCLEX !
Sigh
Wait you did Nclex PN mastery? That’s what I’m using
As an emergency RN, make sure you research the city in which you want to work so you can compare pay rates.

So excited to start my nursing journey! I will be starting pre-reqs this month and hope to be accepted into the program by fall of next year! I’d love to do labor & delivery or NiCU and continue into a NP or CRNA!!! Thanks so much for this video!
Update now 2022 please
Update plssss
@@flormoreno3725 what’s your journey in nursing now?
Any update please?
Wow I knew there was a lot of opportunities in nursing just didn’t know there were this many!!! Thanks for sharing!
I’m a Gambia 16 years,old I’m in 11grade
My dream job is to be a nurse but some friend used to tell me that nurses do less and is hard to have a good life been a nurse
But I didn’t see that I love nursing and I wish to be a certified registered nurse
you stopped saying the salaries halfway through :( nice informative video though!
Hi Shannon
working in the NICU is my dream job! I was honestly so shocked as how much they make a year! Although, that being said, the money is an awesome bonus but definitely not the reason I want to work in that specific field!
Hi Haley
Psych NPs make way more! New graduates make 135,000 with full benefits. I called about a job for 150,000 even after 1 year experience or new grad. Gotta love the psychiatric population if you want this though. I love love love love love being a PMHNP. They also make much much more than an FNP!
It's like ure talking to me
Working as a licensed practical nurse in an emergency room and really started thinking about being a CRNA. Didn't realize how much they actually made! Just knew it sounded amazing and it's going to take a lot of hard work to get there.
Would love to see a current update on this, current market, pay - full time and travel, and education options. Great video
I have learned so much about nursing from all your videos thank you so much for all the informative content it’s seriously so helpful!!!
My mom has been pressuring me to go to school for nursing & I want to but there’s so many options ! I love your videos b/c I learn more & more about nursing , your videos are so helpful & informative!
Is it me or did she stop mentioning the yearly amount each nurse makes?
She definitely skipped at least 3
sweetbanileja10 I was wondering the same!
She did stop until the last few... she also said #7 twice... lol
Hahaha yeah I noticed that as well, so how much does an NICU nurse make??
@Luzangela Aldaiz Lol same. Also, NICU nurses make an average of $93,122/year!
Long as you care about people and what you do you shouldn’t have a problem nurses make well off money and that’s why I choose to go into nursing and I will always love helping people. please stop telling people do what they love when you have to pay bills regardless of the situation
i plan on becoming a CNM but I'm only a Junior in high school so im trying to learn more about nursing and the more i learn the more excited i become!
Pls what's ur IG/Facebook handle? Thank u for ur contributions. Very insightful
Tnks for the info
Thank you for the information. Do you think AGACNP will get saturated, just like FNP?
Salary depends in which state one works in. Experience is also a factor in regards to salary.
This is a lot of great information. Thank you for your dedication in pushing out these videos!!!!!
Hey girl hey! Loved the video. Just wanted to say I’m a Hospice nurse and I make 83,000 a year. We need more hospice nurses!!!
Team CRNA here 💁🏽♀️💁🏽♀️💁🏽♀️
Gerontology nurses where I'm from make at least $450 per shift as an out patient care provider! It works up to about 200k a year! But honestly I don't do it for the money I love elderly people and you must have a gentle heart in this field as in all nursing fields.....
Rysho 31 where do you live?
"Where do you live?"
450 a shift times a 5 day work week times 4 weeks equals to about 9000 dollars times 12 months equals 108,000 a year. So are you speaking of working overtime?
Trinidad
Annie Lolo that does not include overtime! Or extra shifts
This was so different and informative 💗 loved it! I was waiting for you to mention that CRNA lol
I think Gerontology nurse is my calling.
thats awesome! not all nurses (like myself) are called in that specialty. I think it takes a special type of RN to handle geriatrics. Good luck, dear!
@@ADoseOfRox thanks for the motivation. Good luck in your nursing career.
I am a RN, BsN, NICU nurse and a midwife love being a nurse
I’m an FNP in Arkansas, pay is not bad for this area. If I could take it all back I would do my CRNA as most of my RN experience was in surgery and I miss it. I work in a variety of different settings which is why I favored the FNP vs other NP specialties. I’m 4 classes away from my DNP.
Victoria Jacoby I am studying in Arkansas to be a APN but I am not sure if I want to stay here once I complete schooling.
I’m working on pre nursing!!! I’m committed to a better life. It’s important to have a skill in these days.
I billed 1500 a day flying around the country teaching picc insertions. Hated flying so now I work from home and love it.
In Texas you can easily make over 100k as an RN.. you can make even more if you know what you’re doing
I'm 35 and rethinking my career choice and I want to be a labor and delivery nurse
Hi cassi
Your videos are always so helpful and filled with info! I love you and your videos so much! 😍
Even though some people will think low on our profession. raise ur hands up for those who are proud of being a nurse!

big ups! am almost done with my diploma in nursing and planning to be a paediatric nurse, I really love taking care of children
I’m a traveling LPN and If you want to make 6 figures you definitely can! Easy to make big bank more than some practitioner
What company are you with if you don't mind me asking because I plan to be a travel sterilize processor
Fairly Odd Farris I agree I’m an LPN and made 70k but I work a lot of OT
@@deisarayjones312 are you a traveling one?
Do recommend going into a four year university or a vocational school to become a lpn...
Halison Escoto Tech schools lol omg universities tax you so much. Tech school is the way
You are so naturally beautiful!! Loved the video!💕
I’m stuck between Dentistry and Nursing... I really wanna be a Dental Hygienist but I also want to be an RN
GoddessJunoBaby do nursing ❤️ you won't regret it
It also depends on what part of the country you're living in.
