I bought 4 of the new powder blushes from Rare Beauty. Ended up taking them back to Sephora because no matter how I applied it, it showed texture on my cheeks. I realize being 64 this year probably doesn't help! This is a great video, thank you Nikki!❤
I am 64 and I stayed away from them for the same reason. The rms blushes and bronzers work so well on me.
Same here! 48.5 yrs old and rms blushes work great on me, too! I have 3 of them! They are so pretty!
I am 33 and also didn't like the blushes ...had to return them , wasn't a fan
I'm 27 and didn't like them either. When I say it was the worst thing I ever put on my face I'm not exaggerating. It made all of the pores and every little, even the smallest imperfection show up like crazy.
In general, all shine show more and emphase texture and pores. I don’t understand the hype since couple years for glowy shinny look, it’s pretty on a perfect skin and no sign of age 😅 We need more satin finish and blur shinny finish (it’s very rare)

I had such a hard time with that rare beauty blush too. Glad I wasn’t the only one. I thought I was crazy when every other creator was basically gushing over it. Thank you for keeping it real. I had to return it emphasized my texture way too much for my liking and then it basically had no sense of longevity on me. Maybe I’ll try again another time in a different shade too lol you’re amazing love watching you 👍🏼❤️

I wanted to stop in and say THANK YOU!!! I’m 45 with sensitive oily skin and I live in Florida. I’ve been searching for a good sunblock for years. You recommended the Biore Aqua Rich watery essence sunblock for those of us with oily skin. I’ve been using it for a few months now and LOVE IT! It works great under makeup and helps keep the oiliness at bay. I can’t thank you enough for the suggestion!!! :)
I got the Hope rare beauty blush too and so glad you gave us tips on better performance for it! It def doesn’t play well on a dewy cheek! It would be incredible to see how your looks photograph and also look in natural light sometimes-the studio lighting makes it look so flawless but most of us don’t apply makeup for that type of lighting.
If Persona had a metallic cool toned taupe, I would totally grab that and Oro. The formula looks beautiful 😍

In regards to the Rare Beauty Blush, for most of us, if we have to work so hard to make a product work, its not worth it 🤷🏼♀️ Im dying to try the Guerlain foundation, it looks gorgeous on you!

I actually think I’ll love that rare beauty blush. In the mid-late 2010s I always wore glittery blushes, like proper chunky glitter, and I’ve been wishing for something exactly like this!!! It’s like an updated version of my old favourites 🥰

I love to see the Milani setting spray because it’s my tried and true! I use it every time I do my make up. I also recently bought the Givenchy setting powder in 02 for fair skin and I like it. I think all setting powders look a little dry on me, but I need to set my under eyes to make sure my mascara doesn’t run or smudge because no matter what it does without powdering (no matter the type of mascara I’m using). I also bought the Natasha Denona concealer on the Sephora sale and so far I’m loving it!
I’ve been loving that kosas powder ! I did my makeup yesterday and I only used that powder to set my makeup and it blurred everything and lasted all day !
I bought the givenchy powder during the sale based on your dry skin recommendation. Wow!! It’s so great. The absolute best powder I’ve tried on my skin and under my eyes.

@@Makeupbynikkilarose Is Nutmeg very similar Vieve’s Eye Wand in Hazelnut shade wise? Wondering if I need both and if you’ve noticed a difference between the two formulas for oily eyelids in terms of application and longevity? Does either need to be set with powder to be one and done?

Am so so glad you gave us the tip with the rare beauty blush .. I too rushed out and bought the colour 'happy' and I have been struggling with it so much that I have been using it as an eyeshadow because I didn't want to throw it out and we cannot return 'used/tested' products here in Ireland, so I was really disappointed .. however I am definitely gonna try the powder trick with it as see how it goes - otherwise it'll be used on my eyes!! I got the rare beauty blush and returned it. It’s basically a shimmer topper and made me look sooooo textured. I have too many beautiful blushes to work so hard to make that one semi-work. Looks beautiful on Nikki of course, but I had to let it go.

Great tip for the Rare Beauti blush. I’ve been wearing it over Dior backstage and the Haus Labs foundations. I found the blush oddly very hard to work with. I’ll have to give it a go with a little setting powder first.
I'm fair but typically use any blush i want. I got a deeper shade of the rare blush and it looks absolutely horrible, but maybe it's because I do not typically set with powder. It looks bronze/copper instead of mauve berry, doesn't blend like most blushes, and just looks like a way too deep highlighter. I wonder if I powder my cheeks first if more of the base color will show up with the shimmer? Or maybe I just need a lighter shade lol. I don't typically think of blushes as being for different skin depths. Imo they should work for everyone like enough pigments for deep skin, but blendable and buildable for fair skin if that makes sense.
I would love a video on what to put in your purse to do makeup touchups throughout the day. Also, how should I do touchups? Are there any dos and don’ts?

Hi Nikki, can u share tips on how to cover acne scars/spots. I've tried using colour corrector and Concealer, foundation but at the end still can be seen even if I tried to used face powder to cover it. Can u share tips, if can. TQ

Nikki I have tried several of your recommendations as I truly feel you are one of the few left on YT that is honest and cares about their subscribers. I have tried several of the powders that you have recommended and many of them unfortunately unable to use due to the strong perfume scents. Would you be able to recommend some favorites that do not have perfume scents? I would so appreciate it!
There is a new one from Huda Beauty - an unscented version of her popular loose powder. It's already sold out at Sephora but keep your eye on it. Charlotte Tilbury pressed does not have a scent and neither do Hourglass or Laura Mercier. All good, depending on what you're looking for and skin type.
@@AllyKit Thank you!! Do you by chance know where to look for the unscented version? I only see the other ones. I will give Charlotte Tilbury a try. I sometimes feel like Laura Mercier makes my skin look somewhat dry. Have not tried hourglass yet. I have oily but not looking for a very matte more like a soft matte finish.
