  • @tjmfarming9584
    @tjmfarming9584 17 днів тому +13

Richard, you aren't alone in this fight. Farmers in my neck of the woods are facing a similar fight with our labor government trying to shaft farming and then some, particularly with the sheep industry here. We've been doing a campaign against that particular policy since May and have managed to gain public support not through violence, but peaceful protest running trucks and utes through the Perth CBD and even managed to get a NFF rally together in Canberra in September. I
While I've heard other people in my area say stuff along the lines of "They voted labour in, now they have to face the consequences" I beg to differ in that regard. I say good on ya to you and all our farming counterparts in the UK for taking a stand against this stupid policy.
You don't need to show the happy stuff all the time, sometimes it's important to show the brutal reality of Farming. And if that requires talking about politics that affects farming, so be it. We'll stick with you through thick and thin.
Best of luck for the Protests in London. Sending support from Australia!

    Keep farming. Small and large.
Keeping it in the family is important and the tax will decimate that base.

Spent majority of my childhood on farms due to horses and horse livery. Had some of the best moments on farms 🥺 feeding cows and holding baby lambs. farms provide so much for the U.K. even for those of us who need stables for our horses 🥺 there’s a local farm near me and sometimes we go and get duck eggs and there’s always fresh fruit and veg in their shop 🫶🏻

    First time watching your channel.
What I will say is this is the place to talk about the current government. Some people think milk comes from the supermarket, have no idea that it comes from a cow.
People need to educate themselves with how and where we get our food from.
    No farmers, no food.
    No food, no life.
I find it sad that people feel nothing for making celebrities rich beyond belief but not interested in our own food source. 😢

!It will get worse for the family farmers the WEF Blair klaus Schwab don’t want family farms they want to control your food. The Farmers need to do what the French Farmers do and Visit their Local Labour town hall and use the slurry tractor to show em how they fertilize. How can labour say they support British farming when they introduce a very specific section of the new inheritance tax that specifically targets farmers? The fact you pay taxes on all this for your entire life and then have the gov practically steal a fat % as tax when you want to pass it on to family is the most disgusting thing. Gov deserve NOTHING from inheritance if you ask me.

The only problem with meeting with an MP is, they are not the decision makers, at best and if you are lucky, they might pass on the message but they invariably just tow the party line regardless and are a fish out of water in most industries. They may listen, but will not hear or understand what you have to say. MPs vote according to how they are told to vote, only those with a backbone will stand up for their constituents and vote accordingly but tbh, most MPs are fairly spineless and look after the interests of their own careers rather than those they are in place to represent. I wish you all the very best and do hope Government will rethink this most ridiculous tax on the UK farming community.

I’m from a farming family. In fact my father was on that Normandy beach 80 years ago, fighting for our way of life. He came home and started a small farm and family. Unfortunately future generations have to take some responsibility for the state of farming. We complain and disagree with government but only between family and friends and maybe who we see in the market. I hear all time that the NFU does nothing for farming but always pay out claims. Well farmers and the NFU have to stand up and be counted because farmers are now going to finance building houses for half of the world that wants to come here. Also the land will be almost gifted. You personally need to take an interest in politics because you run a business. It’s no good you future voting same old same old. It does not work. Think about it. You and the British people have got to stop saying, “there is nothing we can do about it”and start thinking about what you can do.

The NFU as the official spokesman for the industry, seems to be reactive and not proactive on this and other issues.
Since Labour unfortunately have a massive majority, I can't see them back tracking or amending anything now just as with winter fuel allowance.
My own MP has not even bothered to reply to my own and other people's emails no doubt, in 3 months, we will all get a generic reply.
