I remember when a lot of prods were dropping rage loops on discord in early 2021😂 Back then it was fun, but now it's time for some evolution or just something completely new altogether.
It's not the beats that are going out of style. It's the the repetitive styles being delivered on them. No one is original. Thats why Yeat is so massive and still growing. He found his own unique sound within the genre. People see something work and replicate it and try to get on so it burns out the mystique of the wave. If someone creates a new rap style on these beats the hype will remain but the genre itself will take its proper course of evolution instead of dying out.
I AGREE WITH THIS COMMENT ‼️. I personally love them. They are catchy and futuristic. Why should it die? It can just evolve the way producers like BNYX are doing. This video makes some great points but it is laced with some subjective hatred. It’s clear as day 🤷🏿♂️. For now rage beats are here to stay. They are not dying but evolving in my opinion 🤷🏿♂️
@@deuce9star They're not "dying" that nigga trippin. Saturation probably but there's no basis on it dying at all. Matter of fact, it's never been more alive.
While rage beats may be dying, the “new” things it brought along like clipped 808s, supersaws, and genre blending are def gonna carry on for a while imo
Facts so many producers mixing many different genres now . I’m interested to see what beats will sound like in a few years. Clipped 808 are always so satisfying to use it’s no wonder they are getting more popular
Everybody uses Rage beats bro. I remember back in 2018-2020 when mfs was goin crazy on them SamsungSosa/XanGang/Mingo/Nine9 beats. Everything was chill and dope til Carti dropped WLR that’s when shi the whole SoundCloud sound started changing frfr
What i love about music is that it triggers emotions. And nothing puts me in the spot more than a beautiful rage beat. Fuck most of the artists i just listen to the beats.
I love the rage sound but when I’m listening to Ken, lone, and faygo it sounds a bit played out but Ken and all of them are still innovating with their beats so it doesn’t sound copy and paste on every song
being fr rage is what got me fully back into rap consistently I always personally felt like the SoundCloud era was kinda a snorefest for me minus the obvious hits. So I was into rap very on and off. Growing up I listened to the club tracks that were on the radio constantly, and I was in the minority of people who loved the electronic sounds Vs the people who hated how repetitive they were. I got into electronic tracks through that and it’s been a constant evolution of my kind of sound and it’s impacted a ton of other things. The fact electronic beats are back in the forefront in a way that feels both futuristic and energetic made me really happy. Like I know on paper my roster of rappers is hella generic (Lone, Ken, HXG, Yeat, Cochise) but it’s the sound that resonates with me Ima be real sad when it starts to phase out. Cuz while I know there’s a ton of it out there, I still feel like we haven’t hit a point of good consistent rage beats. The Trippie type of 8bit rage beats absolutely died. But rn we have the grungier rage beats that are really refreshing Idc if they’re “easy” to make, idc how repetitive they get, shi I like what I like. 🤷♂️
i don’t think it’s dying but i think it’s evolving from producers who want to take the sound to the next level as opposed to doing the same exact shit or coming up with something different entirely
I hate how YTers think they know it all and credit X/Ski with pioneering the underground sound. Look into Goth Money, Raider Klan, SeshHollow, Agoff, Ruben Slikk, P2TheGoldMask, Sadboys, etc
not rage, he was using him as an example for a sub genre. like even carti b4 he blew up the way he rapped and the beats he rapped on was more so like i a sub genre of hip hop as well
bitchimsippinteainyohood is a very good example, repetitive square wave lead, aggressive bass. More would loosely be, king of the dead or run up on me maybe? They aren't exactly rage but definitely "proto" rage I guess. Also lil pump's Boss is pretty much a rage song
In my opinion I don’t think rage beats are dying but I do think the window is closing for rage beat based artists. And what I mean by that is it’s starting to get over saturated. The good ones like heat ken Carson destroy lonely sofaygo will still remain but other newer artists aren’t doing much to separate themselves within the sound
But stuff like this happens. This is why hip hop has been popular the longest. We don’t take in traditional sounds like rock does. We always evolve and make new sounds and styles. Ever since the 80s. If you feel like hip hop isn’t gonna make a new sounds. I legit think you’re stupid. There are too many people who are hungry to make something new.
i think the speedran rage beats and "i can make 20 beats in an hour" thing is so cringe. at that point it's not even about the music. there's no authenticity or quality it just becomes quantity leaving little room for uniqueness all for the purpose of profit. pretty much Internet Money in a nutshell lmao no offense to some of the individual producers
